The 18 is a solid neutral cushion choice for long distance running. I've logged several half marathons and a couple marathons in them. Asics runs about half size smaller so I'm used to sizing up just a tad to allow room in the toe box so no toenail loss. It fits more snugly in the heel area which is an improvement over the last few generations. I ordered another 18 after the release of the 19 which is a completely different shoe...that I don't like. It is a heavier choice but has good structure in case you're off road racing. It has survived trail runs and an unexpected mud trail.

This was my first time buying Asics. I wear a 9-1/2 and for athletic shoes typically order 1/2 size bigger. I was surprised that I needed to return the shoes I ordered for a full size larger. I was more surprised that I would need to order another 1/2 size larger if I wanted to wear my Nike cushioned socks in these shoes. I have tried and they do not accommodate bulky socks. I had to buy little no-show socks for these shoes (which was fine, as I needed some anyway). Overall the show is very cushy and I love walking in them as compared to the Asics Gel-Venture I bought at the same time. I bought these for walking my dog a couple of miles every day. For that purpose they work great.

Have ran in Asics before but recently decided to try some other brands. Came back to my trusty Asics and won't leave again. My shoe size is 10, but I ordered a 10.5 since these are running shoes and they were a perfect fit. Yes, these are definitely a little on the clunky side, but the cushioning is worth the weight.

This is my 4th pair of Asics gel nimbus. I need a wide width so it can be challenging to find. For the first 1/2 dozen runs, it feels tight across my toe box (even with the wide width) but it eventually stretches and becomes very comfortable. I have a narrower heel and these are great for that. My foot doesn't slip. The offer ample cushioning for a heavier runner. They are expensive but I feel worth it for the fit and cushioning I need. It is a reliable shoe and I would recommend for runners with a heavy but neutral stride.

I really like these sneakers. I have a Morton's neuroma on my left foot so cushioning in the ball of foot is necessary. I also have big feet complex so I gravitate towards shoes that don't make my feet look like boats at the bottom of my legs. I also ordered a wide size. Unfortunately, I ordered a size 9 which is my regular size but when I put these on, they were just too tight. I'm not going to bother ordering a half size larger. I'm ordering a 10 -- a full one size larger -- and hoping they won't be too big. I'll update my review.

Finally! an attractive athletic shoe that fits my super wide feet. Have been wearing men's shoes to get the width and they never fit correctly. My other women's shoes are size 9, which was extremely short in the ASICS. Exchanged for an 11 and they are about right.

More expensive than I like to pay for a tennis shoe, but one of the most comfortable I have ever worn. I wear .5-1 size bigger in tennis shoes than other shoes and this was the case here. Normally wear a 6 in most shoes and took a 7 in this. I liked the titanium grey/turquoise color.

Nice looking but too tight, now true wide as ordered.

Ordered my usual B width, but these shoes felt too snug, almost tight. I exchanged them for a D width. They fit like what I'm used to (in my usual B width shoes), however the toe box still feels cramped, definitely not enough to go up 1/2 size, but I'm not loving them like I'd hoped. On the plus side, they look good & are very supportive & bouncy.

Not the color I purchased but I like the shoe just need way more support/padding under the ball of my feet. I wear this style for everything and my feet got to hurt and burn on the balms under my big toe at Disney. Also a little more reenforcement under big toes- I tend to get them worn thru there and the rest of the shoe looks brand new

runs very small, too tight in the toe box. I am a 5 w and even the 5 1/2 was too tight, if I go up to a six, my right side shoe would be too loose, too bad, really like the rest of the shoe.

Very narrow and short for a wide shoe! My foot measures an 8. I usually buy size 9 wide sneakers even though only my toe area is wide. I bought the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 18s in a 9D and they are very narrow and very short for a supposedly wide shoe. There is no room for an orthotic in these, although I've been considering giving up my orthotics, so that may not be an issue. On the plus side, these hold my foot well and I don't have the heel slippage I get when wearing New Balance. I bought the ASICS because I'm sick of battling with every pair of NB sneakers as they slip and slide on my narrow heel. These have great cushioning and arch support too. In the end, I may have to return these. I may order a 9.5 and compare them to see if there is any improvement. I do wonder whether these will stretch in time and whether it's worth wearing slightly tight size 9Ds until they do.

This is the first pair of Gel-Nimbus I've purchased. I ordered these because they come in narrow widths. I'm very happy with them except for the arch support. I had to add an insert for the arch which for the price of this shoe, I shouldn't have to add anything. Now with this extra insert, they are great.

My favorite pair of running shoes is Asics. I wish I would have bought about 5 pair of the last Asics I bought, but these are a very close second. They are very comfortable, maybe a little on the small size for shoe size, but not enough to return them for a larger size. I will be ordering them again and will order the half size up. I bought a second cheaper set of Asics for walking, but wish I would have just spent the little extra and bought a second set of the Nimbus 18. They are a little pricey but my feeling is it's money well spent.

I think this runs small, compared to Asics gel kayanos that I had in the past. It wasn't as narrow in the toe as current kayanos and going up a 1/2 size worked. I ordered it in wide.

I ordered these running shoes not because I'm a runner but because I was having problems with a weak ankle. I under pronate and these were recommended for that. I also wanted a shoe that was higher in the rear and the reviews said they were. I added thin inserts for planter faciitis. With the inserts in they do slide just slightly on the back of the heel but not enough to be bothersome. So far they are extremely comfortable and my ankle feels very stable. They do run at least 1/2 size smaller. I ordered an 8, my usual size and an 8.5. I kept the 8.5 but could have worn a 9. Plenty of width in the toe area.

Nice and light weight but not enough gel cushion and support for me. Great colors - nice mesh for hot Florida feet. Felt a little narrow but might stretch with use. I always get 6 1/2 - these are definitely shorter than my other recent purchases.

Used to be able to count on the Nimbus for cushy gel support but these have very little under the ball and toes and not as much under the heel as my three and four years old pairs. Until I can find them 'like they used to make them', I'll send them back. Thanks Zappos for making it so easy.

This is an EXCELLENT shoe for comfort and support. I had to order a half size up for a true fit. I payed the price of not heeding others advice and had to return the first pair - don't make the same mistake l did - order a half size larger. I have flat, wide feet & always balked at higher priced shoes...no more! You get what you pay for. These shoes changed my life. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I'm an ASICS ONLY girl for years and years because they fit so well in my heel and I need wide offerings. But I agree with some of the other reviews, they run small compared to other Asics running shoes I've owned. I'm exchanging my usual 10.5 wide for an 11 wide. These 10s are much smaller in length and a little bit smaller in width than the usual Gel Fortitude or GT 3000s. (I had to try a new model, as my heel strike has become more supinated over the years) The toe box is also considerably shallower than previous ASICs models I've owned. Hope the bigger size fits better. I'm not giving up!!

Asics is driving me crazy with their inconsistent sizing. I normally wear 7.5 but I did up to size 8--it is still a bit too snug. However, except for their sizing, this is a great shoe--great support, amazing cushioning. I run approx. 25 miles a week & this shoe never gives me sore feet--other running shoes have. Great colors & fairly lightweight. If Asics Nimbus could get their sizing down, I would give it a 5 star.

I wear a wide and this fits like a narrow but says it's a wide. The toe room is very small. Unfortunately I've worn them so can't return them. Love the color and look too bad.

Since my first purchase of the Gel Nimbus I no longer search for a gym shoe thats right for me. I have found it. I do not run, I walk and work out. These shoes provide good support and are comfortable. The 18s however run a half size small so I had to reorder. Zappos customer support is fabulous, so nice and polite.

These are my go to working out, running, walking, anything sneakers. I love the style - this color combo is great. The support and fit are great. I have a wider than normal foot and these always suit me. Every few years I will try on another brand just to see if anything has changed but nope - it's ASICS (and Gel Nimbus) everytime.
