I have worn these boots for my daily walk since I got them! They fit so well and with the stabilizing bar in the sole, I don't have any ankle pain anymore. I've even sent the link to a friend to order a pair for herself.

I go through 2 pairs a year because of my mileage and was heartbroken I could not get more. Please bring them back.

I nearly wear these boots daily. My 8.5WW are very comfortable and fit nicely. The only question I have is how do I clean the leather?

I hope these boots are sitting in one of the containers on a ship in the Pacific. These boots are the only EE that fit my Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) feet. New Balance, please continue making these. Thank you!

Best hiking boots for narrow feet on the market. Or, rather were on the market. I am so disappointed New Balance is no longer offering these. Please bring them back! I have tried several other brands and nothing compares.

These are the only women's hiking boots that come in a EE width. Please bring them back! When my current pair wears out I will not be able to find any hiking boots that work for me (I have looked everywhere over the past 10 years) and hiking is my passion. The loss of these boots will truly have a negative impact on my quality of life. It's already bad enough that the insulated gray ones are no longer available.

I have been wearing the 1400 for years now . I always bought the grey but started buying the brown when they were no longer available. I need these boots back! Nothing else is working for me.

As a newspaper carrier, I do it for the walk, I need shoes that will hold me up and let me step on irregular areas. It is kind of dark and I don't see everything on the ground. I put in my 10,000 steps before 6 every morning so you know my boots get the test. That test also includes snow, flooding, sticks, stones, mud, you name it, yes, that stuff too. These 1400 are the BEST! They wear like iron and in five years I have gone through five pairs. Sadly, NB has discontinued this line and I have tried a few others (including other brands) that just don't cut it. Wish they would bring them back in 9 1/2. This last pair I have been wearing for two years.

I am absolutely in love with these boots!!! I have a bad right knee that will feel like it is falling off if I do not have proper alignment. I did NOT have to add inserts and my knee pain went away almost instantly. These boots are sturdy and allow me to work comfortably. I don't want to wear anything else.

For years I have walked 30 -40 miles a week and I am on my 6th pair. I love this boot. It gives me stability that my knees and ankles appreciate. Never stop making this boot NB!

Comfortable, yet supportive for my over pronation. Can walk for miles in these, even though I've had foot surgery, knee surgery.

This is the best winter footwear ever. They're "boots" but they are no heavier than regular sneakers, and they keep your feet dry, and are just warm enough, and have good traction without big knobies! Having had many things I loved get "new and improved" into ruination during my 75 years, I have two pair of these in the hope they'll last the rest of my life!

I wear them often, in my rather chilly house and outdoors in the snow. They're comfortable, sturdy and warm.

I ordered this shoe for ankle support and comfort. It is comfortable, however, I had to return it to get a larger size because I like to wear socks and it was a little too snug around my toes.

I use them for hiking and walking in bad weather. I like their appearance and they give good ankle support.

Daily walks with our dog, on local trails and back roads. Support of my ankles, good foot hold, snow and mud proof.

I walk everyday and now that winter is here I need waterproof protection when I have to step off the road. These are perfect for that and comfortable too.

The size is perfect but it is a size larger then my normal size. Keeps feet warm in Minnesota in our winters. Walking on ice is safe and secure compared to other boots

No need to break in. Comfortable from day one. Great substitute for my warm weather sneakers.

I live in Sedona and the trails are all pretty rocky. I needed some thing that would support my foot and protect the soles of my feet from the rocky terrain. These boots fit like a dream, and made my hikes so much easier and better on my feet. I have more secure footing now as well. The sizing was also very accurate compared with other shoes that I have bought.

I bought these for hiking and ended up wearing them for everyday wear, they are so incredibly supportive and comfortable and look good with all my casual wear because of the neutral color. So rare & wonderful to find a hiking boot in narrow! Please New Balance, make this boot in other colors - I would love to buy several pairs of different colors. They run small in length. Normally I wear an 8, but in these the 8.5 fits best. I originally bought them at Montclair Sports in Oakland which has sadly gone out of business because of online sales. I keep the boots looking new by cleaning with a damp rag and applying shoe cream to the leather exterior.

Excellent design and quality leather. Comfortable to walk in icy or snowy conditions.

I bought these boots for hiking. I put them on to wear around the house to see if they were going to work. Although I had intended to wear them for maybe an hour or so, I ended up wearing them all day. They were so comfortable I forgot that I had them on! I wear a size 8B in the New Balance running shoes and ordered an 8 1/2B in these boots. Perfect! I will submit another review after I take them for a hike.
