I love these boots. I've had them for a year now. They look great and are extremely comfortable.

Love these boots! I had to reorder a half size smaller, but now they're perfect! They also required a little breaking in.

Love these boots! I researched several different styles of Frye boots, and chose this one because I was looking for a more fitted boot at the calf and this one had great reviews and a classic look. After reading a ton of reviews regarding size, comfort, etc. I ordered the Fawn color (gorgeous color - more toward brown tones and goes with everything!) in my regular shoe size (9 - wide foot) even though the majority of the reviews said they ran big. I got them the next day (yay Zappos!) and was so impressed with the quality and suppleness of the leather! They were in fact too big and slipped at the heel, so I called to exchanged them for an 8.5. Zappos customer service was fantastic and sent the 8.5s out that day for next day delivery...and didn't charge my credit card for the replacement pair! They also gave me 14 days to return the 9s which was great so I was able to compare both sizes. The 8.5s were perfect -- even with thicker socks! The first time I wore them I had them on for 11 hours and they were very comfortable, although I did feel the crease across the top of my feet after a while. Wore them the next day for another 8 hours and they felt great. Note that the sole is a bit slippery but after scuffing them on concrete they were fine. I would recommend these boots to anyone wanting a classic boot that's truly comfortable!

Amazing boots my wife has been looking for. She says they're a perfect fit and quality is fantastic. Zappos never lets me down, what a greazt example of what customer service should be. Thank you and keep up the good work.

I was very hesitant to buy this because they are so expensive. When I got them in the mail, I thought that they seemed really tight and that they didn't fit, but the half size up was too big. I took a plunge and wore them out one day, and have not taken them off since. They have broken in really nicely, and are worth every penny. It's been a month or so of wearing them every day, and I think they will last forever. I would recommend getting the Frye leather protectant spray to use on them.

My new boots arrived today, and I love them! They fit true to size, and the Saddle Vintage color is beautiful. Word of warning though...they arrived with a white waxy film all over them. A call to the Frye Boot Co. revealed that this is called "bloom" and is the leather releasing the oils. It can be buffed off with a soft dry washcloth. These boots are pricey, but I know I'll wear them for a long, long time.

Beautifully made, timeless styling. Stitched and nailed sole means I can have them resoled for extended life. Outer leather is thick and smooth, like harness leather. The inside of the boot is lined with a smooth, soft leather so the seams don't rub against your calves or snag your socks. Fits more like a cowboy boot through the foot - i.e., no cushiony insole, just a leather lining. If you need squishy comfort, you might consider something else. I wear with skirts and under jeans - the boots are dress-up/dress-down versatile. Disappointed that they were made in Mexico, and not USA, especially since they are expensive! I keep and wear my "best" shoes for years, so the price per wear will be $1 or less when it's all said and done. My foot is 9.5 Narrow, and these seem to fit like a true 9.5 medium width, as expected.

Being 5 feet tall/size 6 and also a runner, finding boots that fit over my calves can be a bit of a challenge. These boots were very snug when I first put them on- almost thought I would not be able to get it over my right calf. I wore them 3 days in a row to see if they would stretch out at all and they definitely did. They fit perfectly over skinny jeans, maybe still a bit snug over cords, but are otherwise fine. I got the chocolate vintage leather which is amazing in person- they are quite unlike anything else. I would say do not be afraid of the calf size if you have muscular calves- just were them a few times for the best results.

To me, they felt a half size larger than marked (I am normally a 7½ and the 7 fit me better). however, it was not the length that was an issue but the tightness of the ankles - the heel constantly slipped when I walked around in the 7½. however, I do admittedly have pretty skinny ankles and feet, so if you do not, these boots might fit you true to size. Moving on, I think these boots look great, and smell great. I would recommend spending the extra money for a quality product, rather than spending less but replacing your boots every year.

These boots are gorgeous! I first ordered the brown vintage color, and they were really soft and beautiful, but not quite the color I was looking for. I ordered the Cognac for comparison's sake, and I decided to keep them. The Cognac boots are a little harder to pull on than the brown vintage and the leather is a bit stiffer. I normally wear a size 11, and that's the size I ordered. They fit perfectly with a thin sock. If I wanted to go barefoot or with tights I probably could go down 1/2 size, but Frye doesn't seem to make a 10 1/2. I am tall (about 5'10) and these come to maybe 3 inches below my knee. They have a slight western feel, but aren't overly cowboy boot-ish. They are just right! I've worn them with leggings, skirts, jeans, and with knee-high socks, and they are perfect. They go with black, brown and gray. They didn't require any break-in time to feel comfortable. I work on my feet all day, and they are comfortable from 9-5! The color is a very rich orange brownish color. Thank you Zappos!

It took several tries to get the right size and color (thanks to Zappos for their patience!). I put these on with my arch supports and wore them all day without discomfort. And they look fabulous with my skinny jeans. This is my first pair of Frye boots and I now understand why they cost so much. They are worth every penny. And of course, without Zappos, I don't know what I would do (go shoeless maybe). Zappos rocks!

I love these boots! I got them in brown vintage leather and they look great with practically anything. I'm 5'9 and they hit a few of inches below the knee. Run a little snug. I normally wear an 8 and I got an 8.5 and they were a little difficult to get on. But, I know that once they're worn-in they'll be perfect. I recommend the plastic bag trick for when they're new...put plastic bag that they come in over foot to try them on. Your foot will slide in more easily.

I have had Frye boots in the past and have loved them. I have problems with my high arches, but wearing nylon socks makes it easier to slip the boot on.

I absolutely love these boots! They really do fit true to size, and at first I felt that they were a little roomy, but in no time the shoes molded to my feet and they fit me perfectly. The leather is very soft and feels sturdy. It is thick and very well made. The color is the most beautiful rich color, I honestly get compliments every time I wear them. They are extremely comfortable and after only a few wears, they were broken in. I honestly did not want to take them off they were so comfortable. I would highly recommend them! They will forever be classic boots that will not go out of style like so many trends do. They will stand the test of time! I have read other reviews and they are not hard to pull off and on (they do have pull tabs if you need to use them), the soles of the shoes are slick, but wearing them once or twice took care of that and they are not slippery like some people have stated. There really is nothing negative or bad that I can say about these boots. They are worth every penny! I actually bought a second pair in black and I could not be happier. One last thing is that my good friend has the exact same pair that she got almost a year ago and hers look almost identical to mine, meaning that the color has not faded, the leather has stayed just as beautiful and soft, and the boots can keep up with life. There is no need to be careful with them or protect them as they were made for wearing!

Like everyone else, I love these boots. I found if you relax your foot while putting them on, they slide right in. I'm having trouble choosing a color as the pictures aren't clear enough. Trying burgundy vintage next; hope they work; can't wait to wear them.

Buying a boot like this is an investment but the Frye brand and has proved countless times that it will be well worth it. The leather is of excellent quality and broke in upon a few wearings. I feel like I have had them for years, not weeks. I have a wide foot and would normally have to wear thin socks and suffer on cold days but these conform to your foot and I can wear SmartWool socks easily. They look great with skinny jeans or leggings; overall an excellent investment and will not disappoint.

I have lots of boots in my closet and these are my favorite! They fit like a glove the first time I put them on, and they are so comfortable that I can wear them all day and into the night without any problem. I wear everything from stilleto-heel boots to cowboy boots, and these are great crossovers - timeless style with a Western flair. I highly recommend them!

I have been wanting a pair of Frye boots for years...I always hesitated because of the price. These boots are well worth the money. The Melissa style is classic without a lot of detail, so they can be worn with almost anything. I typically wear either a 9 1/2 or 10. After reading reviews I decided to go for the smaller of the two sizes. They fit perfect. I don't have any issue getting the boot on, but it does take just a strong tug to get them off...I would say I have normal to slightly narrow feet. They don't have a lot of cushion and the heel feels a little narrow, which could pose an issue for some. Don't get me wrong, these boots are not at all uncomfortable...I just want to let others know what I've found. I was a little confused about color. There are so many choices...that's another reason I choose the Melissa boot. I wanted a color that would go with anything, black, brown, gray, anything. I chose the Fawn Vintage Leather. I love the color, I would say it's a tan with olive tones...perfect. Just go ahead and do it, get these boots...you won't be sorry.

This is a classic, stylish riding boot. It fits mostly true to size, but felt a tiny bit snug in the toes the first time I wore them. If you have wider feet or ankles, they might pinch. They're comfortable now after a few wears, though. The color is beautiful, and they feel very durable.

I absolutely love these boots. I have fairly small legs/calves, so finding the perfect boot to fit can be a challenge. Now, I have to be honest, they are not the easiest boots to take off. The fit is snug. Well worth every penny spent!

Nice, comfortable boot of good leather, but after vacillating, I've decided it's a little looser for a tall boot than I want. I'm considering the back zip version, which I hope will be closer to the leg. I have the short Melissa Button boot, which I've found very comfortable and looks particularly nice with cords and jeans. I only wish that the zipper were on the tall boot and that the short version were zipperless.

This is my 4th pair of Frye boots. I just can't find another make that is comparable in quality. I have had great wear out of mine, but my daughter thinks their soles wear out quickly for the price. I am not hard on shoes so I can't agree with her. I wasn't sure which black to order so I called. It was explained to me that Black Soft Vintage is one solid color where as the Black Vintage is a bit worn looking and the Black rub off, even more so. I went with Black Soft Vintage. I had passed on these last year at Nordstroms and always regretted it. I only allowed myself one pair and the Jane cuff were it (another beauty). I had sleepless nights since (only partially kidding) so I went for them before they get sold out. I am a true 7 1/2 and that is what I ordered. I had no problem getting my foot in. They were a tad big with knee high stockings so I put socks on and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable. Any smaller, they would squeeze my toes. I have one foot slightly wider than the other, therefore I need to always take that into account. I do have to say that I did order these last year in tan and I wasn't as impressed with the quality . The leather was a bit cardboard like. (therefore went with the Jane cuff in tan instead). The leather on the soft black vintage is beautiful. I also found that the 7 1/2 in tan were so much smaller. I couldn't get my foot in whereas in the black, my foot goes right in. Perhaps there is a discrepancy between colors and size. Not sure. I love these and happy I decided to finally splurge. Frye boots are a bit addicting.
