If you've been lusting after these boots, then don't delay, because they are so worth every penny! I got mine in Bordeaux and it is probably the most beautiful shade of red I've ever seen on leather, ever. I've always thought of getting red boots but I didn't want a flat, garish kind of red. This is a rich, deep red shade with black and brown undertones. In the shade, it looks kind of brown but when the light hits it, perfection! I literally squealed when I opened the box! As for sizing, I think these feel true to size. Since I have bigger right foot, it felt snug at first. After wearing them for a day, they felt like they've molded to my feet and are actually very comfortable.

I love my new boots! I bought them in Brown Antique soft full grain, and it's a gorgeous color. It'll go with any other neutral (black, navy, etc), very versatile, not too dark and not too light of a brown. I've got skinny legs, so I was looking for a boot that wasn't too high and wouldn't make my legs look like sticks coming out of them. They aren't tight to my leg by any means but I like the way they don't reach my knee or swallow me (I'm 5'5" and 110lbs). I'm a size 6.5-7 and I ordered the 7 because I figured I'd be wearing socks, and they fit perfectly. The leather is very soft, which is great but it also means the boot does tend to slouch a bit instead of being stiff like some other boots. The video on Zappos shows that. Love, love, love and great buy! Worth the extra money.

Just got these, and I love them! I'm 5 ft tall, with a calf size of 13 1/2 inches. These are perfect! They hit just below the knee, and are fitted throughout the leg, for a feminine fit; no rain barrel legs with these boots! The leather is high quality, the color very dark brown. The price is high, but low for Fryes, and I've always wanted a pair. I'm not disappointed! If I could change anything, I'd give them a more pointy toe. These are definitely timeless, and are made to last. I usually wear an 8 1/2, but followed the advice of previous reviews and ordered the 1/2 size down. Perfect.

After a long search for the perfect riding boot, I finally found what I was looking for. It is truly one of the most comfortable boots that I have worn. The heel is not too high, and the boot itself is really cozy around the foot. If you are looking for a boot to tuck skinny jeans or leggings into, I would go with your true size. If you just want to get a regular cut pair of jeans inside the boot, then go with one size larger. I got the black soft vintage leather and I loved the feel of the boots. The leather was soft and a consistent color of black all over. My next pair of boots will definitely by Frye boots.

I am in love! I have worn my new "antique chocolate" boots every day since they arrived and get repeated compliments. They're extremely comfortable (although in all honesty, it took a few wears to break them in). The finish on the antique chocolate makes the leather appear to be some other sort of exotic skin, and I am asked "what kind" of skin they are made of almost as much as people ask where I got them, what brand they are and if they can touch them! I've never spend this amount of money on a pair of shoes, but have absolutely no regrets!

I loved these boots on screen but in real life they're so much better! The smell, the feel of the leather, the craftsmanship are all perfect but then again that's just Frye. I have the Jane stitch in redwood and I love them now as much as I did when I got them 4 years ago. Here are a few things I've found with these boots now that I have them in hand: 1. The black soft vintage looks really vintagy and actually borderline black/gray. I love it. Though if you're looking for something a little dressier, this color may not be it. I think the black vintage is a truer black from what I've heard. 2. No matter the boot or brand, I always have issues fitting my thick calves into boots. Most boots I can't even get half way up my calf. These are a 15" circumference (not all 15" are equal I've learned) but they actually fit over my bare leg! I was floored. The reason I will only buy Fryes now is because the cobbler can stretch them out because the quality of the leather can hold up to it. I had this done to my Jane stitches and you would never know it and I can fit jeans into them now. I'm wearing the Melissa buttons today with just stockings and it looks like they were made for my leg. I'll get them stretched anyway so I can wear them with jeans. 3. They need breaking in. It's not too bad (today is the first day I'm wearing them) but they're rubbing against the back of my heels a bit (toward the top). 4. They are very true to size. The toe box for me is just enough to wiggle my toes but if you have wide feet you may run into some issues (that the cobbler may be able to help you with). If you want to wear thicker socks you may want to go a half size up. If you're not sure, get them anyway because Zappos has the best customer service ever. You can return them and get a different size. In summary, if you're on the fence about these, don't be. The boots are everything you ever wanted in a pair of boots and more and will last you forever. My Jane Stitches look brand new and I abuse them and wear them daily. In 4 years, I've replaced the sole 1 time but the leather and inside of the boots is perfect. I highly recommend these boots and Frye in general.

Simply put: I love these boots! I've been eyeballing Frye boots for several years but never wanted to make the monetary investment. Well, after never finding another boot that compared, I finally took the plunge. I am so glad I did! The quality is great. They are a beast to take off, but that's just the style. It helps to have someone help...seriously. I got the cognac color and it's beautiful.

Wow amazing boots and worth the money! It was a bit hard to get the boots on the first 10 times, but the leather loosened a bit and now its perfect. Very comfortable and stylish! Fantastic quality leather!

Wonderful boots, excellent craftsmanship, and a two year warranty. After wearing them for two years of pretty tough wear, I had a problem with the right boot, contacted Frye and they replaced them for free. It's rare to find that kind of customer service today!

These boots are gorgeous. The leather is rich looking and they have great style. They look great with skirts and jeans.

Love these boots. I have really slender legs, and these fit my calves perfectly. Great for leggings and skinny jeans, and so comfortable! I always wear a 7.5, and these were true to size. Nice classic riding boot that will be in style for years to come.

This is a great boot and is worth the price. I wear a 9.5, but ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly. Frye is a great brand and worth the investment.

I am in love with these boots! I have never understood loving a pair of shoes before, but I never want to take these off my feet. I ordered the dark brown leather, which is a rich deep chocolate perfection. I am either a 7.5 or an 8, and in this case, the 7.5 fits great. As others have stated, it is tough to get these on the first few wears but once on, they are so beautiful you never want to remove them, and because of the quality leather I think they will stretch and become easier off and on after time. If you can afford it, go for it. You will not regret this purchase!

I love these boots! The Frye brand has certainly spoiled me in terms of quality and style. I'm not sure I'll be able to look at other boots the same. I had difficulty getting my foot in the boot due to my high arch and 15 inch calves, but I had read from another review to try using a produce bag and it did the trick. The boots feel great and continue to break in adding a worn look and character. I was a little surprised by the western look of the boots, but I think it's a great balance between cowboy boots and a riding boot.

I purchased these boots and Zappos sent them over night- they arrived just as I was leaving for California for a week. I never even had a chance to try them on but stuffed them in my bag and off I went. When I went to put them on for the first time I forgot to pack socks I tried anyway and they went on like butter. OMG I wore these boots barefoot for three days in a row in Cali without any blisters or soreness or anything. I own 3 pairs of Frye boots and like the others these are fantastic and will not disappoint- go for it!

I love these boots! I read other reviews that they ran a half size big, so I ordered down and they are just right. They are pricey, but I think they're such a classic style that I'll wear them for a long time!

Love these boots and love Zappos! I ordered these last night around 5:00pm and this morning at 9:30 they arrived - amazing. I have average to wider calves and these boots fit perfectly, a bit snug at first but wearing them around they have loosened up and are already beginning to form to my feet well. Very well made and very comfortable under jeans or wearing over skinny jeans. Was hesitant about the price but these will last for a very long time and are excellently made - it's worth the price!

I am in love! Not only with these boots but with Zappos too. First off these boots are classic! The style looks great with leggings, dresses, skirts, and skinny jeans. They are slimming on the leg. I got the cognac color and was hesitant that I wouldn't like it because I hadn't seen them in real life...but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. The color is a deep brown with reddish tones to it...very versatile. I am normally a size 9-9 1/2 and purchased a 9 and they fit great. Don't let the price scare you away; these boots are well worth every penny.

These are my favorite boots ever! I love the look and the color (grey antique soft grain). The color is like a muddy grey and green color. They can replace your black and brown boots. I get compliments every time I wear them. It's a classic clean boot. I'm planning to purchase the shorter version soon. The first time I wore them they weren't so comfortable, after the first day they became my favorite.

This was my first time purchasing from Zappos. The order was very prompt with no mistakes. I ordered 3 pairs of the Frye Melissa Button boot because I wasn't sure of which color I wanted. I am so glad I did that because 2 of the colors had a way different texture in the leather and did not look like the picture at all. The Tan color boot was a major disappointment because the texture felt like a cheaper leather than the cognac. I love my boot a lot and I want to thank Zappos for finding it and shipping it so quickly.

I love these boots. They are very well made and are really comfortable. They seem to be true size. They are a must for your wardrobe.

I love these boots! I had a little trouble with the first pair having glue on the sole, so I exchanged them, and the second pair had a button/rivet come off, so I exchanged them again, but the 3rd time's a charm! I love Fryes, and this style is so great. I kept coming back because I love Fryes so much! The fit is true to size, and once they get a little worn in and molded/stretched to your foot they couldn't be more perfect!
