These shoes are wonderful! I have gotten a bunch of compliments on them already. They did rub a bit in a few places the first couple of weeks that I got them, but I gave it time, and now they are very comfortable. My only issue with them is that I wish they were a little taller. I am 5'11", so they do not come up as far as I would like on my calves. Maybe I should have thought about the Melissa zipper, which looks a little taller. Other than that, they are great.

I just received my boots in the dark brown brush off leather. Let me say, they are amazing. I am a very picky person who finds fault in almost everything. Not these. They were beautiful and it is the type of brown that will go with everything! Also, I have one foot a 6 and the other 6 1/2, and normally I get a 6 1/2 in most boots. I got the 6 and they fit great! It really is true that these boots run a 1/2 size small! Get them, you will not regret it, trust me!

I bought this boot at my daughter's request for Christmas and she absolutely loves these boots! She can't say enough about them and treats them like they are diamonds. They are comfortable and warm.

If you have an appreciation for fine leather, then these boots are simply perfect. I actually ride horses so I'm very particular about my leather and these guys pass the test. I love them! They are the perfect comfortable, casual, everyday boot, but can be dressed up too. Only note - check the picture closely because I thought that the color that I selected had a brass button and when they arrived it was silver. Different colors of leather have different colored buttons! Also not very fitted around the top.

I purchased this boot as a gift for my sister, and will definitely be buying myself a pair as well. They are super stylish and can be paired with just about anything. The only issue was the calf had to be stretched a little bit. I have a little wider than average calves, but not that much. And had to stretch these a little bit. But Love them!

Wow, I've been through a lot with the sizing of these! The reviews are all over the place, so I ordered my usual size (9 1/2). They were too big. Then I ordered the 9 (in Cognac) and the toe box was a tad snug, so I returned those. Then I ordered the 9 1/2 again...and they're just way too big...no thick socks will help! I am in love with Zappos. Seriously...they're so patient and helpful. I've now re-ordered these in the original color I wanted (chocolate vintage) and will be getting them in a couple days. I know these will fit perfectly. What a ride though! So order 1/2 size down...trust me on this one!

This was my first experience with Frye boots. I am a true 9 with a M to W width. I ordered these in Dark Brown Waxey Suede and Black Soft Vintage size 9! I wear them with a tights style knee high sock and they fit me perfect. I really love them both and have had many compliments on them. They will be forever boots and will keep getting better and softer with time. I am now a Frye Lover. Thanks to Zappos and I am a forever Zappos Lover, too!

This is my second pair of these beautiful boots! I bought the cognac a couple of years ago and have been wanting the black. They are a classic and timeless style. Zappos is the best, free shipping and fast delivery! The only way to go!

Awesome boots! I have waited for the perfect black boot and finally I purchased them for Christmas. They are worth every penny. So comfortable, stylish, and I am sure they will be awesome in five years. Zappos was great as always.

This is my second pair of the Melissa Button boot and I love them! They are extremely comfortable and I get a ton of compliments on them. The calf size is nice and big and they easily fit over my pants. The leather is also very soft.

I bought this boot in cognac. I rarely write reviews and since I couldn't find the cognac color to review I thought I would write a review under a different color because that is how fabulous I found this boot to be. Not only is the color exactly what I wanted, but the quality of leather, the simple, clean style of the boot, and the comfort and lightness of the shoe itself, are all reasons why I would recommend the Melissa Button Boot. I am very picky about boots and rarely find a pair I keep. This boot is a classic and I receive constant compliments on them. Be aware that the first few times you put on and take off the boots it seems almost impossibly tight and you may consider returning them. But after a few on and offs the leather stretches and the problem resolves.

I have literally been searching for the perfect pair of black boots that would be stylish, comfortable, well-made and versatile for over 1 1/2 yrs. I have ordered and returned numerous pairs of boots to Zappos (thank you Zappos for making the exchange process quick & painless) I received these boots 2 days after I placed my order and I am ecstatic with my purchase! They fit perfectly and looks amazing! They even make my feet look narrow. I wear a size 7 1/2 but ordered a 7 since my daughter convinced me that Frye boots run 1/2 size too big and she was right. These boots feel like I have had them for a month without having to "break them in" and get the temporary blisters I have read about. I am 5' 4" and 124 lbs and have high arches and average sized width. It is extremely difficult for me to find boots that are complimentary since I also have 13 1/2" calves.The description of these boots says it is 15" circumference which was of a concern to me but I ordered them any way after watching the video because it appeared as though the woman modeling them had very skinny calves too and am glad I did. Due to the style, stiffer leather and shape of these boots it doesn't make my legs look twigs in a boot. My only complaint is that they are EXCEEDINGLY SLIPPERY and it is too bad Frye is not making all of their footwear skid-proof especially when one considers the amount of money spent on their boots. However; I am totally sold on this boots and will purchase them in other colors too (I got them in the Black Brush off and it is a solid black indeed-just what I wanted). Take my advise and treat yourself to a pair of Fryes and it'll be one of the best decisions you'll ever make-after all, you are worth it!

I love this boot! This shoe is an excellent rider boot that is simple, classic, well-made, and chic. These elements are what make the boot so special from all the others that you see in the stores today. I purchased one of their brown shades, and I'm considering buying a another pair in black.

I love the Frye Melissa Button style. This is my first pair of Frye boots and I am very pleased with them. I am normally between a 7½ and 8 and ordered a 7½ in these. They fit perfectly. I also tried the Melissa Logo boot but decided that I prefer the Melissa Button. The Melissa Logo is taller and also wider through the ankle area. I like the ankle area being a little more fitted like the Melissa Button. I just wish the Melissa Button was a little taller. I am 5'6", but I have a 33" inseam so I did like the extra height the Melissa Logo had. However, I liked the overall look and fit of the Melissa Button best. I ordered the Soft Black Vintage and they are a very nice dark Black color. I will be wearing them with Skinny Jeans, Leggings and Dresses/Skirts.

I love these boots so much I am buying another pair in a different color. I wear them most days. They seemed expensive but they are so worth it. Plus Zappos was amazing to me by fixing a slight mix-up in ordering. I will be a faithful Frye and Zappos customer.

I looked everywhere for these boots and no one had my size except Zappos. Everyone, and I mean everyone asks me about my cool new boots. I am over 50 and worried that they would look to youthful, not so although I do feel a little younger whenever I wear them. They go with everything. Thanks Zappos!

These boots will become your favorite pair of shoes overnight. I love the beautiful, rich brown. I first ordered them in Cognac, but the color was too red for my taste. These are an easy on and off, and good for a narrower foot. I dress these up and dress them down. Highly recommended!

I was really hesitant spending so much on a pair of boots, but I must say that I love these boots. They are not super fitted, or super high (I'm 5/4 and they are probably about 4 inches below my knee), but they are really comfortable and look really cute. They also seem to be really durable and are made with great quality leather. They look great with skinny jeans. Since there's no zipper, it's a little tough sticking non skinny jeans in. They look great with skirts and dresses too.

This boot is beautiful. I usually wear an 8.5, so the 8 my boyfriend ordered for me was a tad too tight. We exchanged them and they're awesome. It's a very feminine, flattering shape and looks good over tights, leggings, or pants. A little tight over pants at first, but they do stretch slightly to fit.

I really love these boots! They are stylish and comfortable. I stand on my feet all day at work and they do the job! The only complaint I have is the color is called grey, but it is more of an olive/khaki color; but I love it! If you are expecting a true grey, it isn't it.

Fit perfect from the moment I slipped my feet in. By far the most comfortable boots I have owned. Solid construction - Frye has lived up to its name with these boots. The leather is nice - however, I would have preferred the Vintage finish but was not available in the color I wanted at the time.
