These boots are beautiful. I ordered them in the olive color, which was ever so slightly olive and quite an elegant color. Looked great with blue jeans. I am returning them with reluctance. The difference in height between the forefoot and the heel was too much for my overall comfort and lifestyle.

While I love the style, they just are not comfortable. First thing I did was remove the insole and replace it with one from my Merrill, that improved it but they are so stiff and and the toe box is too narrow.
So cute, wanted to keep them but for $200.00 they need to be way more comfortable.

I bought in Stone and Camel. On the screen, I was afraid Camel would be too red, but it is not. It's a perfect, rich brown. Stone was too light for me, seemed like an already worn in look. Camel was more elegant. Photos attached.

Beautiful boots. I should've listened to Zappos which suggested a size 40 although I'm usually a 39 in Merrells and an 8.5 to 9 shoe size.. my Oboz hiking boots are 39.5 size and I recall being torn in the REI store where I got them - but the salesperson advised to stick with the 39.5 which felt roomy, but am so glad I did that. So, now that I've tried these in a size 39 and 40, I'm waiting for the bordeaux in 40. They're not super narrow, but the 39 is a bit snug, and I like a wider toe box. If planning to wear these, say, into the city, for an entire day, I'm sure once walking around they'll be too tight. Yes, leather stretches, but your feet swell if you're walking all day. I've been thru this before with boots - and I've learned to go with roomy vs. snug. FYI, the 'blue ink' looks quite black in indoor lighting - the suede/fabric top accent looks dark blue, but the boots sure look black. The bordeaux look brown/purple and I'll hold out for those. The boots feel great - with my history of plantar fasciitis long ago, I always look for a solid sole and good arch. BTW, roomy means I could put a plantar footbed/orthotic in and they'll still feel great. Wrote all this b/c there is so much debate about the sizing of this boot! Enjoy. I'd love bunch of colors but $$.

The leather is soft and supple. The red is beautiful - rich, yet subtle with a slightly distressed look - perfect for fall and winter. My narrow heels did not slip, which is rare for a boot until it is worn in. The laces also meant I could make them fit along my skinny ankles and calves perfectly when wearing tights and also loosen them a bit to tuck in skinny jeans.
I really wanted to love them but the lack of arch support means they are going back. Usually with a heel this height or a bit higher the shank of the shoe sufficiently supports my foot along the arch. I wear stacked heel Fryes and cowboy boots comfortably all the time without the need for cushioned arch support. But even replacing the removable insoles with a variety of different orthotic inserts couldn't keep my right foot from pronating inward. I'm sure the fault lies with my flat feet and not the boots.
The boots run large. My foot was swimming in the size 37's (but my arches felt fine) and even with very thick wooly socks the full size smaller 36's were comfortably roomy. The Bordeaux color was very brown and not the deep cordovan with hints of black that the Zappos rep I spoke with described. I wasn't disappointed in the color for long since the nice folks at Zappos sent out the beautiful red ones right away - it's just too bad that my feet let me down.
I'm on my 6th order in 2 weeks trying to find a boot that works after no luck in stores (which don't stock much in sizes 5.5-6). Without Zappos' free shipping and returns policy and huge selection, I'd have given up long ago.

Beautiful boot. I got the teal, and as others have said, it isn't really teal, it's more of a dark green. I loved the style of the boots, but am sending them back because I have "bad" feet and they just don't work for me, even with super feet inserts.

These shoes look great, fit true to size and are very comfortable. I do a lot of waking and wanted something that looked good but didn't make my feet hurt at the end of the day and these are just perfect.

I love Taos and own quite a few pair of shoes and boots and was hoping to add this style to my closet, unfortunately this pair won't be making the cut. The style is great, the size was true but the width seemed much narrower and they seemed tight around the calf. That may stretch with wearing but unless I can put a pair of boots on and go - they don't find their way into my closet. I found a pair Pikolinos that are very similar and fit like I want my shoes and boots to fit.

I love these boots. From the first day they arrived I put them on and they fit like a glove! I was uncertain able the heel since it is a little higher but no problems at all! I love the color Too Red! I already am considering another pair!!! On the size I am a 6-6 1/2 So 37 is perfect! I wanted to keep them for wearing as a good shoe, but as a potter I work in a studio with clay all day and today I forgo to change them! Well..I love them!

Love these boots!! BUT they run REALLY small for me - I'm a true 10 and the 42 (supposedly an 11-11.5) were just about right although my big toe is a bit cramped so I might get them stretched as someone else here did (thank you!)I have a narrow foot but need a wider toe box. I ordered these and a Timberland style that was $40 cheaper - the Taos were SO much more comfortable and I could just feel how much better made & padded the Taos was. I have a Morton's neuroma so i can only wear well-padded shoes - aka "Comfort shoes" :( - so even though I was hesitant to spend this much, it was well-worth the $$. And I love the color - the teal is so interesting & goes with everything. I'm thinking burgundy next year for my 55th birthday!

These are such great boots! I wear a 9 or 9-1/2 but ordered a 42 based on reviews about the size of the boot and IT FITS GREAT. Plenty of room for winter socks. The arch support it perfect. My heal pain does not get aggravated in the shoes all day with no break-in. I got the bordeaux color and it is purple-ish. Next I want teal. Then oiled black, then stone, then . . . ALL THE COLORS!!

Hello. I'm typically a size 7 US shoe and so I ordered the EU 38 in these boots. Initially I was wondering if they were a little short in length and so I also ordered a EU 39 to compare. I found the 38 was a better fit. I can wear a mid-weight sock with these and they are perfect. I wanted a boot I could knock around in and distress and these will do the trick and last a long time, too. Very happy! I bought the Teal color, and they are a bit more green than I expected, but that's fine. I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have wanted these boots since last winter! I usually wear a size 9.5, so I ordered the 41 - the fit is excellent with a medium weight wool sock. When I first put them on I thought, oh no, they're so hard and inflexible, won't be comfortable. Wore them around the house for 20 min and was hooked. I have wonky ankles and these keep them straight and aligned - and my toes have plenty of room. I run a flower shop and the sturdy sole just feels so safe and secure on wet and uneven floors. The arch support feels just right - these boots feel like they will last a long while. I feel like I could kick a** in these! Bought the teal color and just love it. If you're on the fence with these just go for it, you won't be sorry.

I normally wear a size 10 medium but got these in a 42 since so many reviewers said to size up. They really do run small- I would actually try a size 43 if they were in stock. But they’re so cute (and fairly comfortable) that I’m keeping them even though they feel a tiny bit small/ narrow... just wearing thin socks and hoping the loosen up a bit.
I really recommend the Indigo color- it looks like a dark grey/ blue/ almost-black in real life. I like it better than the actual black ones and it seems to go with everything just fine. I like the higher shaft because I’m tired of cold ankles with my cropped jeans! These can go under straight leg or flared jeans, probably some skinnies too. The zipper is great for easy on/off, and the laces for adjusting the fit. I’m feeling cool in my new boots!

Super cute boots, but my toes are touching in the front and snug across the balls of my feel. Back they go.

These are cute boots made beautifully, and so comfortable! I was planning a week-long trip to Big Bend Natl Park and knew we would be doing a lot of walking, so ordered three pair of boots with low heels and good reviews from Zappos (Taos, Josef Siebel, and Naot) for comparison. Just one trip around the living room and these were the winner -- they have a wonderfully comfortable foot bed, a nice wide toe box, feel good with both thin and thicker socks, the zipper works well enough to go through TSA easily (it really did!), and the tread/traction is good enough for light hiking/long distance walking. I wore them for a whole week on all sorts of surfaces and they were SO comfortable. Two strangers asked about my boots on the trip (a real compliment, coming from boot-conscious Texans :0) Love these boots! And, thank you Zappos for letting me try options before choosing! For reference, my feet are narrow at the heel, wider at the toe, and I usually wear a size 7 or 7 1/2 -- these ran true to size.

The crave boots are more than what I expected. These are one of the most comfortable things I’ve put on my feet.
They are gorgeous. I want more colors!!!
I don’t know why people say to order a size higher. I’m always a size 10, so I ordered a 41. They are perfect. Loosen the laces if they feel too tight around the foot.

Love the boots! This is my second pair. I have them in gray and bordeaux. The bordeaux is a rich dark purpl I should burgundy color. The gray is grayish brown. Love that you can lace them once and use zipper to put on after that. After trying and returning several military style boots, these are the only ones I recommend.

I have a pair of Taos sandals and sneakers, and decided to try these because they looked cute in photos. I am always an 8.5 in other shoes, but the 39 in these boots were really narrow and too tight in the heal. I returned the 39 and ordered a 40 which just arrived. With thicker socks they are perfect. I looked at the sizing on my other Taos shoes and noticed that my sandals are 39 and the sneakers are 40. So it appears going forward I need to go up one size when buying Taos closed in shoes. I think these boots will be my new favorite fall shoes!

The most perfect boots, bought in black last year and another color this year. I wish there were an unlined version so I could wear through more than cold weather. No joke about the size advice - order larger than you wear.

I couldn't wait for two pairs (size 39 and 40) to arrive. Loved these boots because of the ad from Zappos. Unfortunately, I ordered Teal, thinking they would be like the ad, but all I saw was black. Also, they are very heavy and definitely not a boot you can just jump into.

I am a 'true' 9.5, but these felt just a wee bit too small. I do think if I'd worn them for an hour or so to get the leather to soften, and with thin socks, they would have been just right, but I just didn't like the style enough to try. I must say though: they made my feet look SMALLER than most boots do.

This top of the foot portion of this boot was stiff and made a full walking stride difficult as it cuts across the top of the foot. Perhaps someone with a lower arch wouldn't have this problem. It's a cute style but had to return.

The color was bizarre. Supposed to be teal. Appears black in natural lighting fluorescent lighting and as in these photos under reveal lighting which is supposed to show True Colors.
