So. I didn't want to like these boots. Out of the box, they seemed a little masculine, a little lumberjack-ish, and rather casual. But once I put them on, the siren song of comfort started up. I have a troubled right foot and these boots fit right away. No rubbing. No pain. AND they made me quite a bit taller (I'm 5'1"ish). These are the Blue Ink shade, which is a dark navy-black. Now I'm plotting new outfits to wear them with. Worth every penny.

I absolutely adore these boots. Bought them in the teal color and I agree with the reviewer that said that they are a very versatile color that seem to coordinate well with a variety of ensembles. And they were so very comfortable right out of the box. Pricey, but you get every penny's worth.

The look of these boots is fantastic! But unfortunately for me the width is too tight. Even with loosening the laces a lot, it still hurt across the bridge of my foot. I have moderately wide feet.

i purchased these after narrowing my quest down between these and the frye savannah red combat boots. these aren't quite as bada$$ as the fryes. the taoses are less combative. but they are gorgeous nonetheless. and more important to me, they are comfortable. i want to be able to actually tromp all over the place. the frye boots felt too tall. these boots have a bit of a heel and a platform, but the overall angle doesn't feel too steep. the color is amazing! so rich. easy on/off, because of the side zipper. they look fantastic with cropped jeans, coming up high enough that the jeans cover the tops. they also look strikingly professional underneath wool trousers at work. and maybe it is the round toe, but they make my feet look tiny. i love the seams and the buckles.

I am very pleased with my Taos Crave boots in Teal, size 40, my normal size. If you want to wear very thick socks, perhaps order a size up, otherwise your usual size should be fine. Let me say that this is the most I've paid for a pair of shoes/boots. I saw these boots in an ad on Facebook earlier in Fall 2018. They immediately caught my eye; they were cute and a divergence from my usual style. I didn't buy them right away because I didn't want to spend the money and didn't feel like I could justify another pair of boots. However, I saw them a few more times and started thinking about pulling the trigger. I couldn't decide between the teal and burgundy, and wasn't sure if I could pull off the style. I consulted my fashion advisers (my 13- and 9-year-old daughters) and was given the thumbs-up. They both thought the boots were cute and would look good on me (which they confirmed when I put them on once they arrived). I'm glad I went with the teal, it's a bit more unique and it is really a gorgeous color. I've worn them with skinny jeans and tights with a skirt. I even wore them to a symphony concert this past weekend. They are comfortable, and as a middle-aged mom, they also make me feel cool, nonchalant, and edgy without appearing trendy. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

There aren't too many shoes that I can put on and wear without going through the pains of breaking in. But, these boots have broken that mold. I wear a 7-1/2 and often have to order a 1/2 size bigger because I have a fairly wide foot. I rolled the dice and ordered the 7/7-1/2 and they fit perfectly. I'm looking forward to wearing a warm, comfortable and stylish boot during my visit to colder country next week. I was hoping for a boot that would be comfortable to walk in all day out of the box and so far, these have delivered. I ordered they grey, and love them.

It is with wailing and gnashing of teeth that I had to send these back. I LOVED THEM SO MUCH! Their teal blue was not a blue but an old school funky green= very cool. The style is trim and yet funky. So my style. But their size 42 is not the 11 or 11.5 they advertise. It's not even a full 10.5. I know, because I wear a 10.5 in other shoes and this one was just too short. Again, I'm so bummed. I wanted to make these work any way I could. In the end, they were just too short in the toe space. Dangdangdangdang!!!

These are cute, the material was kind of stiff. I have a normal to high arch but a narrow foot and the arch support felt like it went all the way across my feet and the foot bed was hard and hurt my feet. I know the insole is removable and I have insoles I could put in but I just wasn't in love so I sent them back.

I normally wear a women’s U.S. size 10, but after seeing a couple reviews suggesting to size up I erred on the safe side and bought an 11 and they fit *perfectly*! They were insanely omfortable straight out of the box & I wore them to a Comic Con for an entire weekend of walking and have nothing but praise for them - even got compliments on them. The teal is beautiful and more versatile than you would imagine - but now I’m obsessed with getting at least one more pair of them in a different color! 5 stars all around, I am in love with these boots.

I absolutely love these boots! They are comfortable, they look great, and they're just perfect. I would love to have more colors, but ...my shoe budget won't allow it. You will adore these.

Although I loved the styling and how the boot accommodates orthotics, this boot did not fit a foot that is wide in front and narrow at heel like mine. I'm usually a regular 38, but my heel lifted and my orthotic slid forward and also rolled up a bit. The Taos insert was labeled 38-39 indicating that the boot base is sized long and a bit narrow. When I tried sizing down to a 37, the boot upper was way too narrow in front. Pikolinos Le Mans was a much better fit with similar style but doesn't accommodate an orthotic. Arche boots also fits me.

I first saw this shoe in New Orleans. I live in CA. I tried them on in 42m which is an 11. It was too small. I told them I wil try to find it back home in 43 which I did. I want the camel color but the black was available so I purchased it for size. It's very comfortable and seems like it will last forever. I guess I can say it ran a little small for me. I returned the black and am waiting for Zappos to notify me "back in stock." The boot is a little heavy, clunky looking, but for me its about the comfort.

I read lots of reviews before purchasing and sized up, but don't think I really needed to. The sizing chart is odd, 38 = 7-7.5 and 39 = 8-8.5, I think is what it said. I wear a 7 in shoes and often size up to 7.5 in boots, so I can wear thicker socks, so I bought the 39. Some of the reviewers said it was narrow, but I didn't find that at all. I have a bad toe and can't wear narrow shoes at all and most normal width shoes work fine, these accommodate my toe just fine and thick socks too. I decided to keep this size, because they are so very comfortable! It is possible a size down might have put a tad of squeeze on that bad toe. Also, my right foot is a half size larger, so that can be an issue. I found that the 39 felt roomy and comfy, without feeling too big. It took a long time for me to decide to spend this much on these boots, but they did not disappoint. The leather is a very fine quality, I love the zipper, so I don't have to constantly lace... these are just perfectly fabulous boots! If you are hesitating, don't! You'll love them!

I just want to add a note to the review I wrote a couple of weeks ago. I bought these boots in teal and olive, and I love them - I wish I could buy just about every other color they have. I said in my earlier review that the color of the olive boots looked just like the pictures online, but now I realize that's not the case: as others have pointed out, they look brown (with an olive tinge) online. The actual boots are a beautiful olive color - just enough brown to make it interesting but definitely olive. Picture attached - they are a tiny bit more yellow than they look here but this is very close. If you want brown, these are not it but if you want olive, this is it. Sharing to help create more happy customers - because I love these boots so much that I never want Taos to stop making them.

These shoes are beyond comfortable and cute. I have very wide feet and have a difficult time finding shoes that fit without having to stretch them. These were comfortable instantly. I normally wear 9.5 (10 for extra width) and I got the 10 and still have room for thick socks. They are extremely well made and also very stylish and on trend with the combat boot style while being a little more feminine - I bought the burgundy (and sophisticated/not-trendy feeling). Highly recommend (I normally don’t spend that much on shoes, but these are worth it!).

I ordered 3 pairs of these boots and the third was a charm. First pair was the olive color which per the reviews people were saying looked more brown, but it’s actually pretty olive - didn’t love the color (and for the price I had to love these boots). Ordered them in burgundy, and the color is gorgeous! Not too bright, understated enough to look professional if that’s what you want. I am usually a true 38. I wear Dansko‘s a lot and I’m always at 38, but I have wide feet. The 38 was too tight in the front. Exchange it for a 39 really hoping That this would work for me. The 39 arrived and I wore them in my house for about two hours and they already feel like a glove! The quality seems really great and the boots are gorgeous! So glad I stuck with it and managed to find a pair that fit. I wish they would make wide width, but the 39 works well with a pair of thicker socks. These boots look and feel like they will hold up for a long time.

I loved the look of these boots. What an awesome color! I'm a true 8.5 so I listened to other commenters and ordered a size up. They fit nicely but the soles are a stiff. I'll be returning these and order two sizes up so I can add better insoles.

These boots are a dream. Comfortable right out of the box. I only returned the blue because I liked the black better. The Ink are beautiful!! I loved the black more. If I had a million dollars I would buy all the colors. I have been looking for black boots for 2 years and these ARE IT! Love these boots. Worth every penny. Don't debate, buy these boots!

When I opened the box I was in love....until I put them on. In no world is the 43 anywhere close to a women's size 12. It was at least a full size smaller than a 12. I was worried this might be the case but thought I'd give them a shot since it said the 43 was equivalent to a 12-12.5. So very disappointed because they are absolutely beautiful. Bummed

At age 57, I never ever thought I could pull off wearing a "combat boot" style. I watched these boots for a very long time --- and debated if I was too old for them. But, I finally took the plunge --- just to see how they looked and felt. Quite honestly THE best boot I've ever worn. Comfortable right out of the box. And they make me feel . . . not so much younger, but strong -- and happy! 5 STARS!

The fit was perfect for me . I need ankle support and an ample toe box. These are perfect. The teal color is great and goes well with anything you wear. The suede is soft. The leather is sturdy. The inside is soft. These boots are a winner !

These boots are amazing! They are comfortable right out of the box; offer adequate support and look terrific as well. I wear a 7.5 or 8 so ordered an 8 to be sure I could wear socks and not have any issues. These are now my go to shoes for so many places. You can’t go wrong...well worth the money!
