It is pretty hot here today but my boots arrived and i couldn't wait to try them on. Firstly, they are GORGEOUS! I really wanted the camel color, but there were only 3 choices in my size. Black/Teal/Grey. I have numerous black, I wanted to be able to wear them with everything, I decided on the Grey (I feel the blue are in my future). If you really want grey, don't get these. They are IMO Chocolate! The deepest, most glorious chocolate you can imagine! I am SO happy with them. They felt luxurious as I removed them from the box and tried them on! I can't wait to wear them out! I am always between 7.5 and 8, I nearly always go with sz 8 and they are prefect. I can wear a sock bootie, or boot socks either will be perfect. I believe this is my first pair of Taos, but it will not be my last! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Did I mention that I LOVE them?

Like the other reviews I read, this shoe is made small. I thought that perhaps a larger size might help. I was wrong. My closet has sizes from 9.5 -11. Unfortunately it usually depends on the shoe. I wear an 11 in an athletic shoe if I use my insert. If I want to wear a dressier shoe I usually can wear a 10 without my insert for a few hours. If it is opened toe I go to a 9.5. Very difficult to guess what to order for a new shoe. Zappos is a lifesaver with its return policy and shipping protocols.

Perfect! Love these boots!

These are ridiculously cute. If you don’t plan on walking long distances these are adorable and necessary boots. If you’re looking for good city walking boots, I don’t recommend them. If you’re building a costume/photography wardrobe these would be a fantastic addition!!

This is a great looking boot; however, it was too small and runs on the narrow side. It is well constructed and looks like a good quality boot. Unfortunately I am returning both this boot and another Taos for the same reason.

I bought these in red, size 7 and I loved them. They're comfortable to walk in and gorgeous; however, they don't feel like leather on my feet after half hour or so. My feet are sweating and hot in them....very unusual for me in a leather shoe. This has only eer happened to me with man made materials; thus I avoid them. I just rechecked this site, and it says leather uppers but they sure don't feel like leather after 20-30 minutes. I'm going to keep them because I still love them, but know I won't be able to stand them in warmer weather...too hot! Diane

Yes, please!! These boots are my new best friend! The genuine leather feels soft, supple and durable--both inside and out. The footbed is supportive and comfortable but could be removed and replaced by a personal orthotic if need be. Everyone should own a pair of combat boots because they look so cool. And these feel really good, too. Win/win!!

This is a fantastic boot and I'm so glad that I read all the reviews. These boots are comfortable right out of the box and look absolutely stunning. I have received a ton of compliments about my red pair and it makes me want to get a second color!

I was so excited about these beautiful boots, and bought two pairs. I'm a pretty consistent size 7.5, so I bought the 38s. As soon as I started striding around in them, I realized they slipped too much. I returned them for 37s. The 37s seems to fit just right, but I think that the overall construction of these is so stiff that my feet feel totally cramped. They aren't allowed any natural movement. I have had these sitting around for a couple of months now and I haven't worn them because they are just uncomfortable, so that's my indication that I need to return them. (Sorry, Zappos!!) I was injured when I got the first pair, so it took a long time before I actually tried them, and now I'm returning these too, and I actually feel bad about it, but I can't justify spending this kind of money on shoes that are just going to sit in my closet looking beautiful. I am very picky about my foot comfort, and I work out and hike in barefoot-style shoes, so I am probably more sensitive about stiff, confining shoes than some people. But I do have some very attractive, fashionable boots as well, that are fully comfortable enough for me.

No break-in period. Pliable but supportive ankle. Very comfortable. These shoes provide very good lateral arch support and keep my ankles from rolling out.

Beautiful well-made boot but didn't fit. My narrow heels are slipping and rubbing in the back. These heels feel too high and hurt my back. I prefer Taos Renegade boots, the old style.

So comfy! Love these!! Pricey but worth it.

I'm head over heels in love with these boots! They look sharp and are super comfy! I have extremely high arches and these provide ample arch support. Felt a bit wider than a medium but my foot is slightly narrow in the heel. I have arthritis and sesamoiditis in my right foot but am able to walk in these with no discomfort at all! I bought the teal but will definitely be buying these in other colors! Great boot!

I've had my eye on these boots for well over a year and finally pulled the trigger... on two different colors, because how was I supposed to only pick one? I went with the black , which will be nice and under the radar most days at work, and snagged a pair of the red, because they were too fun to pass up. I found the suggested size to be perfect for me. They're super rad looking, and I've received plenty of compliments so far! I feel fashionable when I wear these and am so glad I finally committed to the purchase(s)!

The size and fit were good. I had to return them simply because I can’t wear this high of a heel. I wore them for about 5 hours around the house, they felt great, my feet were happy but the next day I had a sore back so I had to send them back. If you can tolerate this high of a heel, they are a beautiful boot!

These shoes are extraordinarily comfortable, the quality is world-class, as is the styling. I loved these so much I bought a second pair, something I don't ordinarily do. The heel may look a bit high for those of us who require a lower heel, but the height is offset by the thickness of the sole. These are worth every penny--though I did take advantage of the sale price, lucky me. No breaking-in period needed, just perfect right out of the box.

This is my second pair of Taos boots. Very good quality combined with comfort and style! True size.

Love these boots. This is my second pair. The footbed is excellent. They do run small so get the next size up. I will be wearing these until we get to sandal weather.

Love these boots!! These have a slightly higher heel than I normally wear but because these are so well made with great arch support they don’t feel too high. I have the grey color and this color is so great it can go with everything.

I write this review for those considering the Taos Crave Boot vs the Taos Factor Boot. In style, comfort, and quality, they are both similar and excellent. The heel is barely noticeable when walking and looks great. I would say they are more on the narrow side than other brands such as Keen which are generally too wide for me. In sizing these boots are tricky, not having half sizes. I am usually a 9 in boots, 9.5 in running shoes, and vary between 39 and 40 in European sizes (more often 39). The Taos Factor are slightly bigger than the Crave. I found the 9-9.5 in the Crave too big and the 8-8.5 too small, so the Crave did not work for me. The 8-8.5 in the Factor fit me pretty well. They were a tad snug at first but stretched to perfect after a couple long days, however I should note that I have pretty narrow feet. These boots are very high quality and will last forever, so my advice would be to try both models if you end up between sizes like me. The factor seem slightly more shiny, depending on the finish and color you choose. I gave 4 stars for overall because of the sizing.

I've only worn these twice but so far I love them. They fit great, are very comfortable, and super cute and stylish. I see how they hold up over time and through the harsh winters where I live but I may need to come back for another color.
