Ordered a 39, when it arrived, the box said 39. Boots were super tiny! I looked inside and the tag on the boots said 37. Of course now there aren't any 39s available in this color because they are on sale. Unfortunate mistake of course, but still a bummer!

These are my new favorite boots!! My husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I brought him to the Zappos website and told him these boots!!!! I have high arches and an arthritic big toe and these boots feel wonderful. My foot feels protected and they are so so comfortable. Now I want another pair in another color!! So happy and satisfied with them.

Good for wide calves and somewhat wide feet. I took broke these boots in on short walks around the neighborhood, then gave them their real test: 3 hrs at the zoo last week. They felt great! My feet weren't tired at all, fully supported, even though my legs were. I got the size 39 and I normally wear a 7.5W or 8M/W. I wouldn't describe the toe box as "roomy"--I'd call it "barely sufficient." But since it's good leather that breaks in well, I kept them, and they're stretching to fit. Since 39 is actually a little long for me, there's slippage at the heel. I might add a sticky insert in the summer, when I'm not wearing thick socks any more. I also have very wide calves, and even ankle boots are often too narrow for me. These are no problem--the laces are completely adjustable, of course, and even when loosened far enough, don't look too stretched out.

Loved these boots, but just too small. :(

My boots feel great and this is my second pair I have now. Love them.

This is an update to my original review. A buyer was critical of the boots’ durability but that buyer stated she was a sculpturer. That work is about the same as building construction and I believe her mistake was in thinking Crave is a work boot. It is not! It is a fashion boot styled to look a work boot. It will not withstand what a Timberland or a Red Wing boot will, as it is not made for heavy duty, hard conditions. It looks great, but it’s made for walking down a street or a meadow, not navigating building sites!

I take an 8.5 M shoe size, which is not a choice in European sizing, so I go with a 40 (9-9.5) for boots. With a heavy sock and being laced up, this will work. The size down (39) is too short when wearing a sock. I have mixed feelings about this particular style. I own several Taos products and adore them all except this style because the mfg decided to put distressed marks in brand new boots. I already own a pair in another color and have seen several other new boots with these markings, so I know it’s not a defect. I’d prefer to do the distressing myself. However, they are very comfortable, well made, and it’s very rare to be able to find a navy blue boot, let alone one with silver buckles, not gold. They’re also very good looking. I have navy L L BEAN boots, and that’s a whole other look, a very specific style statement. Since I have a tote that matches (which is why I picked these) and I wear boots a lot, I’ll keep them as I know the durability of the mfg’s product. They aren’t waterproof but you can spray with water/stain repellent. I live in Maine and that takes care of my winter boots. All things considered, I’d recommend this boot. As far a working with Zappos, this is my second order and I couldn’t be happier with the service I’ve gotten. Very glad I found this shipper.

I have another pair so these fit exactly the same. They are very sturdy and I like the look.

I wear an 8W, and the 39 fits great. I have several pairs of these and the fit is consistent. They are the only shoes I can comfortably wear all day long.

Love these. Heavier and sturdier than the (sadly discontinued) Rockport Bethany, not quite as soft/ flexible. Have them in two colors.

Perfect boots! Comfy right out of the box. The color is a lovely red cordovan and the heel height is just right for walking all day. There is just the right amount of arch support.

I love these shoes. I get so many compliments on them. The gray has brown laces and matches everything. They are very comfortable.

Too tight on the foot yet two lose in the heel. I am a 9.5 and ordered the 9-9.5 then exchanged for the size up. Same issue persisted with it being too narrow.

These are one of many pairs of these same boots. I wear them all the time. My first pair I came across ? maybe 6 years ago in a store marked down on a Dec 31st shopping trip. It was a routine trip every year until Covid. Anyway, my husband said buy them they are on sale and I said where am I going to wear teal combat looking boots. I now have teal, black, brown, purple, dark cherry (this year's present), brunette and this pair. I seriously wear these all the time. I have a lot of pain in one foot and when I wear these boots, no pain. I can walk all day. I always hesitate due to the price but I know I will not be disappointed. I wear a 36 in birkenstocks but in these I wear a 37. I love them. I am not a shopper and I can't believe I have this many pairs of the same exact boots but I do AND I work in an office where they now have gone more casual so I wear them a lot on Fridays. I still wear high heels but I just love these boots.

These shoes were more like a womens 10 than 12.5 very dissapointed as it is hard to find larger size womens shoes.

I am an 8.5 the recommended the 40. A bit big. Not sure if I should keep. The Boudreaux color is really pretty. But I’d like to submit a pic. I think they are used or defective and the laces are not long enough. And they are pulled tight.

These boots are IT. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but these inspired me to. The leather is soft and flexible right out of the box. The zipper is smooth. The toe box allows enough room. (I should note here that I usually wear an 8.5, but Zappos recommended a 9, and they work great.) The sole offers a lot of traction. The foot step of these boots is heavy, kind of reminiscent of Doc Martens. They have a very substantial feel. I think the price of these is very reasonable for what you get. I hope they last a long time.

Quality materials on this pretty boot. Love them. Comfortable out of the box. True to size.

I am extremely satisfied with these boots. They fit perfectly. They look beautiful. I think my husband is jealous with how good they look. (So much so that he mentions puddles that way I don't step in them.) Do yourself a favor and buy a pair.

I never write reviews, but wow am I loving these boots. Beautiful boots with just the right amount of edge to them. I love the side zipper so that I don’t have to constantly lace and unlace them. Comfortable out of the box and hoping they stay that way! I did NOT have the sizing issues that I’m seeing in so many other reviews... I’m usually a 6.5...ordered the boot (smoke rugged) in a 37 and if anything they’re a touch roomy but thicker socks will fix that. My first pair of Taos boots but I’m sure I’ll be back for more.

I tried these on despite being more expensive than I was looking to spend and couldn’t help but buy them when I felt them in my feet. They are probably the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had - especially right off the bat. They’ve needed no break-in period. The leather is very soft, the footbed is cushy, yet supportive. My only complaint is that the laces seem kind of big and clunky, but I might just swap them out for some that are not as wide.

Absolutely love these boots . I’m a true 8 and I’d say they are the tiniest bit roomy but not bad . Want them in every color !
