I got the medium and my 15" mac pro laptop fits great. I think the site "fit guide" said I needed the large bag, but that seemed way too large. This works great. Still has plenty of room for my ipad in the padded compartment, too. I got the grey with navy trim bag because I wanted something professional looking but also with some character. It looks fantastic! Very stylish. While the designer in my loves the front hooks, they are very tough to undo quickly, especially when standing and trying to open it. It is also front heavy so it wants to fall towards you when you are trying to unhook them. There is a velcro strip that seems to be to allow the front to stay closed and not do the hooks, but it isn't very effective. The front flap doesn't latch onto it very easily. All in all, not cons enough for me to give this bag up. Just annoying. It is a lovely bag and works well for me and will for many years to come.

I purchased this after seeing so many great reviews about TimBuk2 bags. I can say that all of the positivity is well-founded. It is a great bag for toting my laptop to and from work. Love the adjustable strap. I love the Small size as well but could do with some larger pockets in the main pocket.

Wish there was one designed to sit on left hip, and it's just a bit too long and bulky to swing onto lap for train/bus sitting. I think if there was a left hip version that was just a bit shorter or more flexible it would be close to perfect.

I am an academic who uses this product as my daily work bag as well as for travel. I have sprinted through O'Hare airport with this bag and can vouch strongly for its comfort and practicality. I am a tall woman and the medium size is roomy without being too large. I appreciate that the bag is both practical and stylish---it is not ladies tote by any means, but it also does not look like it's suited only to 55 year old men (not that it would not suit this demographic as well). I am immensely pleased with the purchase and will buy Timbuk2 again.

I'm not a cyclist so while I understand the design may be geared towards how a cyclist would wear the bag, it's not quite right for my general office needs. I would like more structure in the bag primarily I would like it to stand up and not fall forwards which is what it does. I'm not a fan of the side opening Napolean pockets and would prefer a top entry zip pocket on the bag flap to quickly dump my phone wallet and keys in. Other than these issues it's a very good bag. Love the TSA split function for laptops at the airport.

Honestly, this exceeds any expectations I had! I am a person who does EXTENSIVE research when purchasing anything that I will be using for an extended period of time (I'm not lying when I say I spent hours and hours looking at dozens of bags). I can say without a doubt this is the best bag for me. The color, the weight, the size and various compartments are perfect for my ever-changing lifestyle (I often go from class, to work, to meetings, to travel all in one day). It's light, stays dry, and gets compliments all the time. Love this bag!

Very sturdy, well made bag. Good for somebody willing to spend time and effort to utilize various compartments but I think I prefer something simpler.

well thought out design size (L) is impressive

It's incredible for airport travel and going through security. I have the medium size and I'm glad I did. It keeps the essentials, yet prevents me from over packing. I'd prefer a dedicated key lanyard on the inside to hook my keys to while traveling. Also, I'd prefer some shock cord somewhere (on flap or bottom even) to stuff a light weight rain jacket (versus inside the bag).

Mainly using the bag to carry iPad Pro 9.7 and occasionally with a laptop. The bag is built with excellent quality, but the rigidity of the bag (for the protection of laptop) could become its deficiency when you only carry the iPad Pro (lack of flexibility) though my bag is already of the small size. Overall, it is still a great piece of work.

Used to own the old Command model and it still worked perfectly, just wanted a change. This bag is comfortable, roomy and looks great. Highly recommended for commuting, traveling, going to class etc.

This bag is light and roomy and firm enough to stand up when putting files and my laptop into it. Love it!

I use this bag for work everyday and it's the perfect size and very comfortable. It is high quality material I'm sure it will last forever.

I am always looking for a bag that is as organized as I am, and this is it. If you need to carry a laptop and or a tablet, this is the bag. Not only do I use as computer bag and briefcase that I bring to work everyday, I also bring it on every trip including vacations. First there are three zippered compartments that are accessible without opening the bag. One I use for all my phone and computer cables. Another for earphones and Bluetooth headset, and I stash metal things here while I clear TSA security. The third is for travel documents. There is also a side water bottle holder. Open it up - you have the main compartment with a organizer and three other compartments. I would like an internal water bottle holder in the inside as well for my umbrella. Also, love the Velcro silencers so much that I have never used the Velcro. I own six other Timbu2 bags and a bunch of Tumis, and this is one I use the most.

I just feel this bag is not well designed and I'm disappointed with the quality. 1- TSA does not recognize that this bag is TSA friendly, so that feature is useless and leads to the fact that your electronics are not well protected when you're commuting. 2- The strap is a nightmare. -2a- It's way too long leading me to have a hard plastic part right on my shoulder. -2b- The part which latches to lock down the length keeps coming undone on its own which leads to an unpleasant jerk from time to time. 3- The dimensions are not good. -3a- Volumetrically speaking, the bag is way too small. I had one of the old 3 stripe messengers before and it was the best bag ever! It was stolen and this was supposed to be my replacement. It just cannot hold everything I need and there's no way I could use it for clothes, etc for a weekend trip. -3b- despite that the volume is small, the length is too long. I have to take it off when walking down airplane and metro aisles so I don't hit everyone I pass. This is super inconvenient. 4- comfort. This is the most uncomfortable bag I think I've ever had. I will certainly be replacing it. This is really frustrating considering the cost. 5- features -5a- where is the key holder? That was such a great feature!!! Long story short, it looks nice but is uncomfortable and not functional.

I have had this bag for about a year and a half, maybe two years. I have the medium size, and it's just big enough for my pens, calculator, laptop, notebook, and lunch. I've taken it to work, to class, on day trips around town, and traveling/commuting--on bikes, buses, cars, trains, the subway, and lots of planes. My family lives in Washington and I live in New York City so I travel a lot. I love it's functionality and of course it looks classy, but what surprises me most is its durability. I'm not super nice to my stuff (I used to go through backpacks every year or two), and I've used this thing a lot, and it still looks brand new. I'm shocked. I mean the strap is starting to show a little bit of wear but the bag itself looks the same as it did the day I bought it. I have a backpack from these guys too that I bought because of this bag, and it's also looking good after a year of use. I have no regrets about getting this bag. When (or maybe, if) I ever have to replace it, I'll definitely be getting another Timbuk2.

I just went from Dayton to San Jose last week and my Timbuk2 Messenger bag held it together! It was a killer bag to travel with because of it's ease of use and perfect size for my macbook pro! It's durable and stylish so I feel like my contents are safe and I'm able to pull off a snazzy look. Highly recommend.

This is the perfect tech bag. I was looking for a shoulder bag to replace my backpack and I wasn't sure if I would be able to find one but this bag is great. A lot of compartments and space.

Great and versatile bag. Looks stylish and very practical. Computer compartment is easy to access and does not require opening main flap to get into it. Love the little pocket on the side of the main compartment (again, can access without opening main flap) and a great spot to secure a power block. The bag wears comfortably and the strap is easy to adjust to the size you are wanting. Main compartment is spacious; I do wish it had a few more pockets for organization but it still works great and can store a good amount of material. Overall, extremely happy with the purchase and love that it is TSA friendly. It is a high quality bag that looks fantastic.

I love the look of this bag. It's stylish, modern, and wears well with any wardrobe I choose. There is enough room to fit my MacBook Pro 15", iPad Pro, & iPad mini. I did find the bag a bit uncomfortable after long walks but that may just be with any messenger bag as it hangs on 1 shoulder and got a little sore after a while. This is the first messenger bag I've owned so not sure if this is just normal for any bag. Not bad, just a bit uncomfortable after several hours of wear walking around. Overall, I'm very happy with this bag and love Timbuk2's products.

I had the original command TSA bag before the 2015. While I like the front fasteners no longer having that dangling hook, I'm disappointed they didn't keep the small zipper paneled storage spaces for keys, business cards, and usb keys on the front. They took compartments away. While it's "nice" they moved the bottom storage for adapters and cords from the bottom to the side, I now have to cram my laptop adapter in the side and I can't fit my Euro travel adapter and mobile phone and other charger cords into the main body of the bag.

This is my third commute style laptop messenger from Timbuk2. I like the upscale style and refined fabric of the Command. I was also looking for a smaller bag than the medium sized Commute Messenger I was carrying because the number of work documents that I carry has diminished over time and the medium Commute had become just too big. However, the small version of the Command is truly small. With adapters and and cords in the small pockets, there's not much room left in the main compartment for anything but a notebook and some papers. I find myself wishing now for a size halfway between the medium and the small. I love the fact that the velcro strips can be suppressed (I haven't used the velcro closures at all). I also don't mind the new metal clips that secure the flap. The optional cross-strap for cycling is nice and the one-pull access to the laptop sleeve is very quick and convenient. Overall, I am very happy with this third time around for a laptop messenger. I just wish the small version had a slightly larger main compartment.
