I was worried that this was going to be too small, but it's just right. 13" macbook pro, iPad, Point and Shot Camera, charger, cables, do dads, thingamajigs, notebook, umbrella, water bottle.... they all fit. Not much room for anything else, but what else do you need?

I use this bag every day for work. I fly almost every week and this is a great bag with the suitcase connector and TSA approved laptop sleeve so I don't have to remove my laptop when going through security.
I wish I'd purchased a small - the medium is too big and I can't get the strap to sit right on my shoulder so that the padding is on my shoulder and not on my chest. The compartments are all changed from the last version. I love the side pocket for the cord, but miss the small zippered front pockets where I used to keep hair ties, chap stick and headphones. I don't like that the hooks are attached to the top flap rather than the bottom because they're really hard to quickly unhook when I'm on the go - though it's nice not to have the dangling hooks when they're undone.
Finally, I wish that this bag came in a more feminine style. It's kind of bulky and the colors seem very masculine. I want all of the practicality of this bag with a slightly more feminine edge - not hot pink or anything, just a little cuter!

I purchased this bag for job interviews and commuting with my laptop. I have a 13.3" MacBook Pro and am a short (4'11") individual. It was suggested that I purchase a medium sized bag because of my computer size. Medium was far too large, both for my body size and my computer. I returned and purchased a small, which has easily more than enough room for my computer, it could likely hold a 15" with ease.
This bag is best to carry many flat items, or items that can be squished. The best part is definitely the multiple compartments that are accessible without having to open the main compartment of the bag, which was great for air travel. Overall I'm very happy with the bag, but if an even smaller version existed I believe my computer would still fit and would be easier for me to carry. I commute by bike and tried this bag once but found it much more inconvenient than the panniers I typically ride with, so will only be using it for non-bike days to work.

Love this bag for work. Wish there was a larger slot for at least a 32 oz hydroflask. The main compartment is a bit small once you get into it, but I love the computer compartment. Overall, I love it. My Patagonia Half Mass is more roomy, but this is more structured.

I use this daily for work, or I might drop it and go back to my previous bag (older timbuktu). There is not enough internal organisation pockets for me, particularly in the laptop section. Also, the zips are in weird positions with useless side entrances etc.

Took it with me on my first trip to Japan. I needed a bag to keep my laptop (15-inch MacBook Pro Retina), my iPad (in a bulky Otterbox case), small DSLR camera, and a bunch of other small items. This bag did very well, and I was able to fit everything in there with relative ease. Lots of pockets for organizing things, I found myself under-utilizing the interior pockets; the outside access was my preference. Some of the zippers were a little difficult to operate. I will chalk that up to the bag being brand new. The strap was reasonably comfortable, and the size of the bag was good (I believe mine was a medium). Great bag!

This bag is incredible, at some points I'll have 2 laptops (MacBook pro and 15" laptop),nexus 9, all power cables, phone, and more it it at the same time and it's medium sized. I am really impressed with this bag and I'm very picky about my laptop bags. I switched from a BBP Hamptons Hybrid Messenger bag that I used for 3 years to this one due to wear and tear and I'm totally loving this bag!

I get more comments on this bag than my old leather one. It's very well made out of heavy-weight materials - but light and stylish. LOVE IT.

I've had a Commute 2.0 since 2009 and have loved the bag, especially the TSA laptop compartment. It still looks new after 7 years. The only negative was the TSA compartment had to be zipped up for the laptop not to fall out...which when you're pressed from behind in the line means you can't just pickup the bag and zip it up later.
I tried the last generation Command because it changed the TSA compartment to hinge on the bottom so you can just pickup the bag and zip later. However, the 1st gen Command was too flimsy and didn't have enough pockets. It was definitely good looking but not practical.
This Command 2015 model fixes all of that. It keeps the great improved TSA compartment, but increases the number of pockets. I especially love the 3 pockets that can be accessed without opening the flap of the bag, it means you can get at your headphones, tablet and power supplies while on the move. I have the Medium Command and it's a about 15% smaller inside than the Medium Commute. Its been a little snugger when loading for a longer trip, but its held everything the Commute did.
And best of all, its way better looking than the Commute (I have the Carbon & Molasses Command).

The quality is amazing- my only disappoint was that I ordered a classis black bag with bright red cobtrast details- and the bag I received is more of a plum colored contrast. I was so excited about the classic look when I ordered that the plum instead of red was a huge disappointment.

A fairly compact briefcase-type bag with lots of slots for tech. Seems small until your laptop and tablet and Harapad disappear into the back pocket, and you still have room in the front for chargers and papers and earbuds and books ..., even a Chinese bamboo flute. (The sheet music, dimo and erjiao fit in a sneaky front pocket.)
Your cell phone goes in a pocket inside the top flap, and then there are still two side pockets for a water bottle and knickknacks.
I bought my first Timbuk2 bag in 1994, and I'm still using it. Judging from the construction of the Command TSA bag, I fully expect to be carrying it in 2040.

I commute 4 hours everyday. It's a mini adventure every morning. The bag allows me easy access to all the tools I need but organizes them so I'm not fumbling around at critical moments. It's stellar on my commute but shines at the airport and under the seat in front of me on the plane. Knowing I can slip my hand into the Napoleon pocket to grab something quickly is awesome when I'm sandwiched in a middle seat. When I jump on my bike, I add on the messenger clip and the bag stays put. I'm a big fan of the hooks on the front as a way of securing the bag without tricky clips or noisy Velcro (though it is an option)
Awesome!

This was a gift for our son, just returning back into the workforce after completing graduate school. He has one of your backpacks, and being familiar with the quality and durability of your products, was extremely excited to get a messenger bag. It's got a ton of storage cubbies and is very nice looking.

This bag is BIG! And it seems to get the job done. The hook closures take some getting used to.

This is my first Timbuk2 messenger bag and I have to say compared to my others Timbuk2 is by far the best one I've owned. I own the matching carryon luggage to this bag and they look sharp together. All the things I didn't like about other bags has been addressed here. Great bag supper fictional and perfect for the business traveler.

I bought this bag for traveling to and from work. It's a very well designed bag. So many different compartments for phone, tablet, wallet, etc that you can access without opening the main compartment. I love it.

Excellent bag for work, travel, etc. Light, high-quality, durable. My only warning to issue is that this bag is in fact black; the pictures may suggest it is some deep groovy brownish color, but it's not. Black. That's what it is. Fantastic bag.

I've burned through a number of bags over the years, trying to find the right balance of comfort, convenience and versatility. I fly a good amount so I really wanted something that was TSA friendly. The faster I can burn through security is the more time I can sleep just before the flight!
I have a Victorinox TSA friendly backpack that was OK, but all the stuff in the pockets kept flopping out anytime you didn't sit it down just right. This bag is so simple. Easy access to your laptop without having to open the bag. I have another older Timbuk2 that you have to remove 2 clasps to get inside to get your laptop. Inefficient. I'd recommend sticking with bags that have a separate space for your laptop that can be accessed without getting into the main compartment.
I got the small, which has plenty of space for my 13" MBPr. My buddy has the medium which I feel would be too large. Err on the smaller size when in doubt.

I use the bag for daily commuting. I really like it, but, find the main compartment just a little bit too narrow for its size. I think it's a pretty big bag, and should have a bit more room inside. Not a great deal, just a bit. Plenty of compartment space for my stuff.

I use this product for work. I often need to carry external hard drives, a camera and files. What I don't like is no divider in the computer pocket to protect papers and files. I solved that by keeping a small folder that I can slip loose papers into to keep the computer from damaging them. The exterior pockets are great for wallets, keys, iphones, etc. The interior pockets have good dividers and are easy to use to store and protect your smaller items. The bag looks great too...I love this bag!

I love this bag after about a month. The metal clips are sometimes finicky to get out of the loops, but I have no complaints otherwise. Love the abundant pocket space.
