I am very satisfied with this bag : It is for me the ideal bag for work, leisure, weekends, travel and I take it all the time, and everywhere ! Be very carefull when you choose the delivery mode : In France the delivery was a real nightmare : UPS is the worst carriers : very expensive, not friendly, not reliable... and I hope Timbuk2 will offer others carriers for a next order.

Received this bag as a gift from my wife over a year ago. It has held up very well and I like the business-like, rather than bicycle-messenger look to my briefcases. This looks the Wall St-part. The only drawbacks are the terribly designed front hooks. As articulated in other reviews, they are EXTREMELY difficult to open when the bag is loaded-- you can't unhook them at all unless the bag is laying flat. Very inconvenient and time consuming. When you pay this much for a bag, you shouldn't have to struggle in order to open it. But, the darn thing looks good and holds up well. The hooks may be a small inconvenience to be tolerated in order to have a great briefcase.

This was a gift for my husband and we are both very satisfied with the purchase. The colors (blue and grey) are more appealing in person rather than the pictures. I was worried it would be too blue-turquoise but in fact it is nice, muted shade of blue that is perfect for my not-too-flashy husband. He put it to use instantly at the airport and was thrilled over the lightweight and having no holdups through airport security. He's recently gone back to school and I foresee a lot of studious use in this bag's future. Add in that he is an avid bike-commuter and uses it for daily commutes and this bag is now officially what we refer to as "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner". I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he was like a little kid and immediately put his work laptop (which fit perfectly) in his new bag. He has taken it on his train commute a few times and is really pleased with the bag!

Great traveling bag. Best one I have ever.

Firstly, it looks really cool and modern. Appropriate for business occasions or more casual events. I use it both for long-haul flights and work - I am a teacher - and I love the endless compartments it has; great for laptop, books, documents, little items, etc. I have used it for a short time, but it looks extremely durable.

Website experience was very bad. Promised discounts on most bags did not appear in cart. Even without hitting submit had multiple credit card charges, Customer service reversed these. Size calculator on site did not work. I measured my laptop carefully per instructions and the site specifically said size small would fit my computer. Same result multiple times. Bag is 1 1/2 inches too small for my laptop. Spent hours dealing with the site to purchase the bag and was in no mood to return the bag and deal with frustration again. Have been inundated with promotional emails since purchase.Very very unacceptable experience.

the only thing is missing is a key holder inside the interior pocket

This bag is awesome!!! it exceeds my expectation in quality and functionality. The bag looks real cool and you will get deffenitly questions what brand bag it is and compliments on the looks. It's worth every penny spend.

I ordered the medium and it was the right size for my body 5'2", but too small for all the Items i need to carry so I exchanged for the large size and it is too big for my body. Nice for a computer and just a few flat items but not quite wide enough for all the extras like lunch and such. the water bottle holder is too small for the size bottle I carry however it is very stylish, I love the look and all the compartments are in just the right spot. I will be able to use this for other things so have not sent it back.

Plenty of room for computer and much more.

I use this bag for everything I do. It holds quite a bit in a well protected environment. I have both a 10" iPad Pro and a new 15" MacBook Pro that fit perfectly. Over the years I have had tons of bags of which only a few every really made me happy with functionality, looks and overall performance. One prior bag met my criteria years ago and I had that bag for 4 years before wearing it out. This will be my new long term bag and I don't see it wearing out in 4 years, rather much longer. My only complaint is the swivel clips on the straps. They work well and there is nothing wrong with it. I had just found over the years that a fixed strap doesn't flip around as easily. I am forever flipping both sides around individually. If it were fixed, it wouldn't flip around as much and be easier to unclip. The strap pad is awesome. A great bag that I would highly recommend.

We ordered the medium size for our team and had our new company logo embroidered on them. These are great bags for commuting and travel. I have carried a standard LL Bean backpack for ages and love it, but the Timbuk2 Messenger has already improved my organization.

Nice bag, except for the laptop compartment. I have a laptop that (according to the Timbuk2 website) should have fit in a small bag. Not close. Returned for a medium. It barely barely squeezes in. The issue is that the compartment isn't gusseted. It is a flat pocket. I'd hesitate to try it with a laptop that has any significant thickness. I like the bag otherwise, but since it is my work bag I'll have to live with this shortcoming daily.

Very flexible storage options without making one get lost trying to find something within. Compact and comfortable to carry.

Bag is almost perfect. Only thing I would change is add a interior strap/dongel for keys

In my line of work, I typically go through a bag about every 5 years. After 1 month of use, I know this bag is different because it has still maintained its sturdy shape despite the abuse it has endured so far. The spacious medium bag is very impressive - I can pack class folders loaded with compositions, two writing workbooks, classroom essentials stowed in the pockets (hand sanitizer, a bag of white board markers, breath mints, tissues, and assorted pens), a granola bar, my cell phone, and I was still able to open the bag wider for a dictionary and a stapler. Of course the dictionary and metal stapler added some weight, but the shoulder strap is wide enough to make it comfortable to carry. Recently, I even trekked across campus in a steady downpour, but the contents remained dry. I recommend this spacious messenger bag to anyone.

New colors are great--currant color is professional and looks like maroon (university color that I work for). Love the height, more rigid structure (compared to other messenger bags), and the compartments. This model has heavy-duty plastic hooks--no longer metal :( So far they hold up, but unsure about longevity. -- large/wide cell phones (esp with case) will struggle or NOT fit in the easy access zipper pockets :( I'm making do, but disappointed that iphone 6plus with otterbox won't fit any easy access zipper. I don't cycle to work but I like messenger bags (vs briefcases), and can't find the ideal messenger style bag. This one met most of my requirements so I'm really enjoying it. My ideal bag would be this Command Messenger but also... 1) I'd prefer a wider main compartment as this gets narrow once laptop and compartments are used. 2) I'd prefer a wider base to make it more stable; laptop side is so skinny once you add in items to main/front compartments the bag falls forward. I'm always having to prop it away with back side facing out--not convenient for easy access, nor when there is no place to prop it up. I recommend a briefcase/messenger hybrid option for the new professionals. 3) I'd prefer the bottom (only) to be made of a more durable/washable fabric-- bag sits on the floor of bathroom (in airports), offices, kitchen, outside at the park-- it gets wet and dirty easily -- love the canvas but hard to clean! 4) I'm surprised this bag lacks a hidden/pull out waterproof cover for cycling/walking on rainy days! These are all things I have found in other bags but haven't found in ONE bag under $200. Still for the price, the style, the organization, and durability I LOVE my new bag.

Daily commute via metro rail. If I have to run with it that extra cross chest strap feature really comes in handy. Very comfortable.

There's awesome hidden compartments in this bag! There's a YouTube video describing and demonstrating all the features of this particular bag. Viewing it helped make my decision to buy very easily.

Love this bag, plenty of room for my 15" MacBook 2016 model fits in the Small size back. I have the Rip Lite and the blue offsets the gray wonderfully. I'm really impressed with all the storage in this bag. And the strap is the most comfortable strap I've ever used.

Nice bag. Would give five stars if the bottom of it were flat, but it is not. Rather than being flat it is angled. Thus, the bag will usually not stand upright unless you lean it against something. This is very odd. Not sure how this aspect of the bag's design made it into the final product. Very strange indeed.

Amazing build quality, and looks. I could not have asked for a better messenger bag. The only con I see is the size, it is not terribly large but enough that it is noticeable. I did check for the best fit for my laptop by putting in the dimensions on the website and ordered the the one it suggested. More room I guess.

Everything is so smartly designed. What a pleasure having compartments for everything, including one on the outside flap, perfect for my keys. It just makes everything about using a bag a little easier.
