My second Uberlayer, I wrote a review for the first so I won't go into too much more detail other than that but it's so good I got another. Fit wise if you are tall and slender go for that larger size

Awesome jacket, would definitely recommend it as a layer price or a perfect shoulder season jacket. So far I've worn it almost every day

Well a lot has been said about this jacket and it is what it is an "Uber" Layer. This has been my standard layer from late fall until spring for anything I do outside, from skiing, snowshoeing, hiking or going out on the town. it can handle everything and keeps me at just the right temp. if you are active then this is the jacket for you.

I love this jacket so much. It took me forever to actually get one because they never had the color or size I wanted. I checked every day for like a month until it showed up. I guess that's a true indication as to how popular it is. I'm 6'3 and have a large and it fits very well. I use this as a mid layer during ski season. Come spring skiing i completely removed the shell and went just with this. I wear this around town all the time and have it in my bag on any bike or hike. I even used it in Hawaii on a hike in the big island when light rain came in. I got stuck in a hail/ rain storm this summer on a mountain and I would not exactly call it waterproof in extreme conditions like that. It got pretty wet and luckily I had a rain shell to put over it. On a good note, it dried after the storm super quick and kept me warm. I never expect a mid layer to be fully waterproof so I still think it deserves a 5 star rating. This is probably the most diverse and well used jacket I own. I highly recommend this one!!

I love this jacket. For reference, I am 5'2" so the comment on it fitting too long may just be because of my stature. The jacket breathes really well and is suitable for wear in a variety of conditions. It's great under a waterproof shell for skiing, hiking, or all by itself for heading out into town. It's my go-to for chilly mornings to and from work, and I appreciate the muted colours so I can wear it out in the field.

Just used this as my heavy insulation layer for a Cascades summer trip - did Mt Baker twice and Shuksan N Face, then got weathered out of the Forbidden part of the Torment Forbidden Traverse. The jacket was really stellar. For a 3 am approach I could wear it, unzip it and it shed all moisture. It was warm for bivies and camp at night. The hood adds a lot of warmth and doesn't make you deaf and the whole package is very light, doesn't take too much room and as I said the synthetic insulation dries very quickly. This is a really good technical layer. PS - the pic is with the added layer of the Axiom and that's just a killer combo

Im 6'4" and a lean build. Size Large good long body and arms, some room to throw a midlayer under but not too much The main selling point is breathability like I have never seen but with decent wind and rain resistance. So versitile, need it warmer? put a flece under. need it water proof? throw a rain shell on top. Forget the rains shell and get caught in down pour? Well at least you are still warm even if you are a little wet. I have been a belay parka man my whole life. I went for high loft down and large baffles for maximum heat. I belive that when properly layered this jacket can match the parka most days. For extended sub zero temperature I still defer to my "michelin man" parka but this is a far more useful piece. Had I the budget for only one of the two I would choose the uberlayer. 2 small complaints, not significant but worth noting. The pack in its own pocket feature doesn't work, the fits too tight. And the hood is oversized and awesome for a helmet but the wire brim it has needs a redesign, it's too small and just a tad in my peripheral vision sometimes.

This is the best insulated layer I have ever owned! It is lightweight, fits well either under my ski jacket on cold days or as an outer layer for skinning and around town. I can wear it in a variety of temperatures and settings and find that it has great temperature control, not too hot or too cold! I have owned a lot of mid layers over the years, and this is by far my favorite!

I can do everything in the Uberlayer. From ice climbing to skinning to skiing powder to winter-time bike commutes, this jacket is my all-time favorite. The fit is simply supreme. No extra 'bunches' of fabric or zipper, but I never wish it were longer or just bigger in general. My body runs relatively hot especially while climbing or touring, so it's very important to have a warm and breathable outer layer. I've tried countless other options, but I found what I want right here. Plus, hard shells are so 2010...

This is my FAVOURITE mid layer of all time. It is so ideal for nearly every activity and pairs well with a shell or thicker jacket for colder days. I wear it nearly every day for being out and about. It breathes well enough for cross country sking or snowshoeing, and is flattering enough to wear out for casual dinner. The double zipper is key for additional venting, and the hood is nice around the face for colder or windy outings. Fabulous.

The berlayer jacket is a great all around jacket. It serves as both a midlayer and as a main jacket. It's useful from 0 to -30 degrees. It has a sharp look and design and is always my go to jacket. Amazing piece of equipment! 5 stars ?

I love love love this jacket! I live in Colorado and am very active outside, especially right now in winter, and the Uberlayer is my favorite layer to wear! It serves as my day to day coat and also is perfect to layer with while out in the backcountry. It is lightweight, very breathable, and is, beyond compare, my favorite article of clothing currently!

This jacket is everything I needed. I ordered a medium and it fits perfectly (5'10", 160). I love that it has a little bit of stretch to it too. The hood also fits well over a ski helmet. I mainly use this jacket when I am touring because it gives me the right amount of warmth but it's still breathable. I usually end up taking it off because it's sometimes too warm, but then again I've been known to wear only a t-shirt and a vest on ice climbing approaches. Overall great jacket!

Despite some sizing issues I absolutely love this jacket! I originally ordered a XL as that's what I typically wear when ordering similar jackets. When I received my Uberlayer I was impressed by the design and comfort but decided to exchange it for a XXL as the "trim fit" was too tight in the shoulders. The exchange process was a breeze and OR sent me a XXL before asking me to return the XL I originally ordered. This was awesome since I had the chance to compare both sized and confirm the XXL was big enough without being too big. Since receiving the XXL Uberlayer it has become my go to jacket any time I'm heading into the cold. It does a great job of cutting the wind and keeping me warm without overheating while moving. It compresses down into a easy to pack size when I need to store it in a pack. Overall it's a great piece of gear that I definitely recommend.

I've used this jacket for both fall hiking and warmer days on the slopes. Love the look, fit, and warmth! Great option when my ski jacket would be too much.

Great layering piece for varying temperatures. I wear this running in winter and skitouring. Works as advertised, breathable when working hard, keeps warm when standing still. After a 5.5hr uphill and sweating stil kept me warm on exposed in windy ridge. With varying layers underneath, good for running from zero to minus 20.

Have to say, after the winter in central Canada that we have had so far, this jacket is proving that the Polartec Alpha really does what it says, it does regulate the heat! From some biting days on the slopes as my mid layer to hiking all day in 0C weather, the jacket keeps your temperature in that comfortable bracket! I wear it all the time now, as it truly is my go to jacket for all things outdoors.

when ice cube said "please don't believe the hype," he clearly was NOT referring to the uberlayer. the hype is so real. the absolute best layer for backcountry skiing, this thing makes me feel like there's a fan inside my jacket on the way up. i run warm on the uphill and--seriously--you can feel the airflow as your arms move, keeping the perfect temp. then, during your transition/safety meeting/water break, it stays really warm alone. a shell over the top is all you need when it's extra cold and/or windy. i've used it in CO from -10 to 50 F and its comfortable always. hood/neck is perfect too, love the wire brim. i think the fit is great, fits a bit looser than a radiant hoody. had the superlayer and can report the weird small armpit issue is gone.

This jacket has been my 'go-to' when the temps drops to -20C or -18F plus windchill, as the perfect insulation between my thermals and hardshell - whether hiking, snowboarding or ice climbing...it's also been effective at temp control on milder winter days on its own.

As a Texan, i was blown away that I could get by in 20F weather with a tee shirt and this micro puffy. This is now my go to puffy for pretty much all occasions. One downside I've noticed are that it could do with being more rugged to thorny environments. I've already torn some sizable holes in it while hiking through in el Potrero Chico (admittedly a thorny place, but I was bummed that it tore so much). Also, the inner mesh pockets seem great at first, but if I have something in the front pocket (like a phone) and then another item in an inner pocket (like a wallet), it gets really bulky and the mesh has a bit too much stretch so things bounce around a lot and is annoying while walking. Granted, I could have fewer things on my person, but I don't have all that much stuff and it bothers me. I'd rather have offset exterior/interior pockets. Perhaps keep the interior pockets above the exterior ones, or just reduce the size of the pocket and/or provide stiffer mesh to reduce the bouncing. All in all though, that's a minor inconvenience for me and I still love grabbing this puffy anytime.

Living in the Canadian north we normally get -4f during our cold winter months, last year I purchased the cousin of this jacket the superlayer and it rocked the winter I didn't need any other jacket at all, this year I decided to give it a try to the uberlayer. What I thought was the perfect jacket and couldn't be improved, OR showed me differently the uberlayer is amazing I have wear it to temperatures down to -22f with only a wool baselayer under it and it does the trick perfectly, I can go out for long walks or cross country skiing or just wear it to work and it looks and performs excellent in all conditions. Don't think there could be a better jacket but you never know OR might surprise me again just like they did with the uberlayer.
