I noticed the soft supple leather as I took held the shoe in my hand. The sole was a firm and forgiving rubber that joyfully exhibited that sometimes elusive gently yielding forefoot flexion. The insole could be removed with ease and was well cushioned. I was impressed with the quality of shoe. They were a breeze to put on with or without socks. A very attractive design. As a friend said, you cannot return theses shoes, they are too cute. I didn't even have to walk in them to realize that the seam of unyielding stitching at the ball of my foot would make the shoes unbearablly uncomfortable for me. A shoe must be pain free or else it's a dust collector in my closet or deposited into the next donation box. I see some people love the fit. But not my foot, it had no love for this shoe. So close, yet so far. Thank you Zappos for your simple and convenient return process.

I have other Chaco boots in the same size that fit great, but the something about these (maybe the stitching at the front lace area) made a strange tightness across the the shoe. I really liked how they looked, but they were too uncomfortable for me to keep.

I so badly wanted these to work for me! they are sturdy and warm, and nice looking. However they were slightly too narrow for the widest part of my foot. I could feel the stitching push against my foot. Sadly these are going back.

Love the way they look but I ordered too small.

I bought this same style in brown one year ago and love them. They are warm and comfy and I get compliments about the. Recently I purchased the black pair in the exact same size. The right foot is too narrow and stiff as cardboard. The leather stitching around the tongue rubs my skin through thick socks. I sadly have to return them today. Too bad because they are attractive.

I really wanted to love these because Chacos have such great arch support. I am a solid size 8 and since the size reviews were mixed I ordered my regular size and it was way too big. I returned these for a 7.5 which is better, but they still don't fit in the heel - my heel goes up a lot, and this is not a problem I usually have with shoes. So, these are going back. The arch support is great and they look great, but overall fit is not good. Also, there is a seam where the tongue material meets the top portion of the shoe and this rubbed uncomfortably.

I really wanted to like and keep these shoes because they are so cute and unique. However, the soles are super stiff and uncomfortable whether I'm standing or sitting in them--they hug your feet tightly. I was wearing thick socks in my normal size 7, and the fit was looser around the ankle. Lots of good toe wiggle room. But tying them tight enough makes them a little too snug to be relaxing. Also, the arch support is INSANE. I have pretty good arches to begin with, but these arch footbeds just got in the way. I could maybe find some more comfortable insoles, but why bother when the price was so high to begin with. Sad!

I have big feet and most 11's don't fit. This is the first that was too big! Imagine that?! Order down a size and wear thick socks.

I got these shoes as a present and I am not completely in love with them. I am used to wearing small shoes. Tennis shoes are the biggest shoe I will wear. These boots feel like they are way too big for my feet. They fit fine, but the bulk is just too much. Also the wool lining is a little itchy so I would definitely wear crew socks, another thing that I'm not used to wearing. The shoes are honestly a little boring in appearance from the side. The top view is fine but the side is blah. The shoestrings are another think I don't care for. They are not a pretty color and don't really match at all. As far as how they feel on your feet they feel fine but definitely not worth the price. A nice pair of tennis shoes would work just as well.

I received this boot today, and although very cute, I am returning it. It is long in the toe and the heel area is too big. My foot was coming out of the heel even in my thickest, hiking socks.

Fit was good. Felt like it had great arch support. But they were very stiff and would not have been warm enough for me.

These are disappointing - the style is great but not at all comfortable due to how stiff the edging is on the tongue.

I was hoping these would be wider. But, since I have D width, these are too narrow. The length is fine, but not the width.

These look like $30 shoes from Walmart

The stitching on the sides rubs on both sides of my feet. The material is stiff and rubs around my ankles and the arches are too high for me.

The sizing was true. I have very average size 7 feet and the toe box was a nice width, the length was good. But these were so unbelievably uncomfortable. Hard insole, insert doesn't go all the way to the edge of the shoe, so my feet flattened off the edges, crashing into the hard high lump that is clearly meant for arch support but put pressure on my feet in weird ways.

The fit of the arch did not match up to my foot - toe box is very generous.

Review said they ran small, and I needed a 9.5 Wide, which width is not available, so I ordered a 10. Too big and not at all a fit for my feet. Insole stiff and lumpy in the wrong places. Sent them back.

I think these shoes just didn't fit my feet well. My heel moved up and down so the fit was loose there, while the fit was tight across the ball of my foot.

The shoes were on the narrow side and the leather is stiff. Also, I did not like the squared top.

Slipped in heel when I walked. Felt too wide. Arch hit the bottom of my foot in wrong place.

1st pair in my regular size was too large, ordered half-size smaller. Was excited to receive these, and right shoe fit like a glove but then I realized the left shoe was notideablybigger than right shoe (in width and length). Even the leather looked different (darker), and toe shaped slightly differently. I want to love Chaco because of the great arch support, but their quality control gives me pause. Buying a matching pair of shoes doesn't seem like to much to ask! Am returning, won't reorder after 2 unsuccessful attempts.
