I have had these shoes approximately 5½ months. They are very comfortable. However - they are coming apart already. The body of both shoes is separating from the sole area. These shoes have not been used for anything other than walking, not even hiking - their exposure to the elements has been very limited. For the price of these shoes, to have them fail after such a short period is pretty poor. That is very disappointing in terms durability. I would think very hard about buying another pair, though without a doubt they are incredibly comfortable.

I've been a big fan of Hoka running shoes for several years, so I was excited when they added a hiking shoe to their line-up. I've owned several brands of hiking shoes, but the Hoka Summit is the most comfortable pair I've worn to date. The Summit incorporates the heavily cushioned midsole Hoka is known for, but it's not quite as well cushioned as some of their running shoes, specifically the Stinson and Bondi, both of which I've also owned. I normally wear a size 10, but ordered the Summit in 101/2 to accommodate thicker socks, and they were just right. All in all, a very nice light, well-cushioned hiker. Only time will tell how long they will last out on the trails.

I first tried Altra Zero Drop (Olympus 1.5 and Olympus 2.0) and while I loved the cushioning and large toe box, the padding in the heel / achiles would begin to wear out (and then blow out) after 40-60 miles. Only on my right foot -- no matter the lacing pattern, socks, and couldn't wear the smaller size. I couldn't afford to keep wearing them. I even contacted the company and they gave me a credit. But design is design. So I turned to Hoka. I knew I would get a good cushioned shoe but I was concerned about the toe box for me wide feet. While they are definitely narrower than the Altra, they aren't too narrow. I have been really pleased with these. In fact I ordered these and the Hoka One One Valor and I decided to keep both. Someone also said something about the quality of the nubuck uppers that they were cheap or synthetic. I was concerned about this. But I think it's bunk. The material seems genuine, sturdy and the shoes are very well designed. Slightly stiffer than the Valor. But the Vibram tread is also super grippy. No slipping ever. Quite pleased.

Not flashy looking but super comfortable. I have two active dogs and take them on long walks routinely. I have some issues with my feet (a neuroma on one foot and general pain in both) so I’m always looking for light hiking shoes that provide comfort. One of the best things about this brand is the thick, angled soles. They provide a ton of cushion so I can walk farther before feeling like my feet hurt. This pair has a fairly stiff sole but has a lot of cushioning so it’s good protection and soft at the same time . Would buy again for sure. I have a pair of Hoka’s that I use at the gym and love those as well. Some people don’t like the thick, angled sole but for me they’re perfect.

I bought these from Zappos over a year ago. They are very good for my daily walks on trails in the local national park, and for longer walks on trails in Vermont. I would very highly recommend them. I also have two pairs of Hoka running shoes, which are also good, but this shoe seems to have a wider and for me more comfortable fit. All of the Hoka shoes provide good support and are comfortable. They have become my favorite, replacing Keen's, which I still think very good.

Bought these for my wife for winter shoes. She loves her hokas and was very happy to find out they came in a waterproof version. She walks at least 2 miles a day and that is great considering that she had two foot surgeries for a bunion and a knee replacement as well. It pretty much only rains in the winter in the bay area, so it's okay that these are a little warmer than the mesh versions.

Ordered a half size larger and my toes still felt crowded. Liked the stability and feel, but with thicker socks and a few miles on the feet, they would be to uncomfortable. Ordered the Stinson which has a larger toe box.

I purchased this shoe for wearing in the know and on ice. I have been wearing Vibram soled shoes for 50 years so I know the benefit of it wear. I will admit this Hoka shoe is nothing like the Clifton 8 I wear due to the sole being Vibram it has a bit of a stiffness to it but like I said its hard to be objective after wearing a cushioned shoe like the Clifton but that is the other feature of the shoe you may be disappointed with if you like a well cushioned shoe. I had to replace the sole insert with a Dr Scholls to add some cushion and besides that I find that the shoe is everything I desire. Due to our lack of snowfall the past few winters they are still on the shelf waiting to be given a good workout.
I'd also recommend:
None, I have been a wearer of Hoka Brand shoes for 15 years.

This shoe is great for hiking on uneven and rough terrain. The exterior waterproof leather looks rugged and goes great with outdoor walking apparel. Off the trail put on you blue jeans and you're good to go. You'll like these shoe enough to ware them out!

These are my go-to casual shoes. I have really bad knees and the cushioning from these makes a long day of walking bearable. Praying they bring them back...

I have foot and toe injuries that have always made hiking painful. These shoes changed my life. I feel like I am walking on a cloud when I am out on the trail. Roomie, supportive and comfortable. The best shoes I have ever had. I will be buying a back up pair.

I have Morton's Neuroma on my right foot. I bought a pair of Hoka Bondi's this past summer. I had no issues from the start with those. These hikers had the same specs as the Bondi's so I bought them. They are a not quite as cushiony but I still love them. Fantastic support. I wore for 3 straight days right out of the box with no issues. I will definitely purchase additional Hokas in the future.

When I first put them on I thought they felt too big. After wearing them for a day they seemed to mold to my feet for a surprisingly comfortable fit. I can wear them a bit loose for walking around, or tighten them up for a well-supported hike. Haven't tested the waterproofing yet, but am loving the comfort!

2nd pair I’ve bought. Very comfortable, perfect on the trail, laces help differ style from other shoes, very durable. Would love to see other earth tone color ways. One of my favorite shoes. The end.

I am 65 years old and a former marathon runner/backpacker. I have foot problems now and these are the ONLY shoes that feel good. So good, in fact, that I've worn them every day for several weeks. I hate to take them off. I'm a general contractor and the shoes are rugged enough for my work, yet still stylish enough to go out afterwards. I wear them 12 hours a day.

Most comfortable shoes I've ever tried. Going to buy a second pair in case they discontinue this style, which is the only one reasonable enough to wear for work.
