I bought this coat two winters ago and until recently have been really pleased with it. Unfortunately this winter I've noticed that the colour is wearing along all of the seams making the coat look worn out and aged (I have the black colour which is really more like charcoal grey). I've never washed the coat other than some spot cleaning with water and I by no means have used my coat in an extreme environment or have done anything unusual with it. I live in Toronto and usually wear it running errands and to work. I looked up the Arcteryx warranty and it looks like this is not covered which is very disappointing. I bought this coat expecting to wear it for many years given the cost and am already feeling like I have to replace it given how worn it looks. If I'm wrong on the warranty I would appreciate someone from Arcteryx correcting me on this.
There is plenty about this coat that is perfect and I think that makes me even more disappointed about having to replace it and I would not get this coat again knowing this is a potential issue. The fit and length are great and I love the big warm hood. I bought it because I wanted something warm, waterproof with a slim fit and this coat fits the bill on all of those items. The only issue i noticed immediately was the zipper which gets stuck regularly. It seems to be very poor quality given the price of the coat but I could live with that given all of the other pluses.
Overall I'm hoping the fabric of my coat is faulty which is why I'm experiencing this issue as I thought Goretex would be very longlasting and durable. If not I think buyers should be aware they may be faced with replacing the coat after only two seasons.

I love how this jacket is very slim fitting and light and doesn't make me feel like a marshmallow, like most down jackets do. BUT, the arms aren't warm enough! I wore it outside for a couple minutes to walk to the building across the street and my arms were cold! The temperature was about -25 celcius. Every other part of my body that was covered by the jacket was warm except for the full length of my arms.
For the price I paid, I expect there to be no design flaws and this is a major one. If I had to wait outside for public transit for any period of time I would probably freeze.
Sadly, I will be returning it.

I want to love this jacket but when I put it on I'm sadly let down.
I purchased the jacket thinking it would be a stylish alternative to other down jackets on the market the colour is wonderful as well as the outer gore tex shell which makes the down seem flattering. The the main issue I have with the jacket is the zipper. It is constantly getting stuck every time I attempt to do it up as well as does not come down far enough and the button that is there to hold the bottom of the jacket together is small and never stays closed which leaves the flaps of the jacket open and cold air coming in. I live in a remote community where temperatures have dropped already. I have had to resort back to older jackets to keep me warm. I do love Arc'teryx products and wish this product was worth the purchase.

I have had this coat for about 2 years. It was OK- not exceptionally warm, especially in the sleeves, but it was nice to have a warmish waterproof parka to wear while walking to work on cold snowy days. Yesterday, just in time for the cold weather, the top zipper pull just snapped off, completely disabling the main zipper, basically making the jacket useless. For the amount of money I paid for this parka, I expected it to last much longer and be of much better quality. I am just very disappointed.

I bought this coat in spring 2020, taking a chance considering the bad reviews of its zips. It is a lovely coat but the zip broke this morning after less than 9 months and easy wearing. I DO NOT expect such poor quality fittings on such an expensive coat. The good toggles are also very poor quality. This is the last piece of Arcteryx I will buy - it's a shame because when I first started buying the brand years ago I was very impressed. Their quality has plummeted but their prices are the same so time to move on.

Let me first say that my 2014-parka has served me very well. The 2019-parka is a lighter and thinner down-insulated product, but most disappointing: The lower part of the parka is no longer insulated with down (lower back and front, approx. 20 cm height). No wonder other customers feel cold and talk about draft in it. I've been a fan of the Patera parka, but not anymore - unless Arcteryx can assure that this product holds the earlier higher standard in the 2020-version. These days my eyes and money are focused on other quality-concerned brands in the market. More disappointment: When trying to load illustrative photos of the two very different parkas, to follow this feedback, I'm told the pictures have the wrong size. Don't want to spend more time on this. If customer service is interested, I'll be happy to send the pictures, hoping they will be published on the website.

I thought that Arcteryx product is high quality and is made in Canada. That's why we are paying the high price for the jacket. I personally don't think China make high quality product.
Secondly, this jacket is not warm at all. My wife been complaining that it's cold and is not warm enough. An undershirt, shirt, fleece and the Patera Parka in a 30's F. Arcteryx brand is not what it use to be anymore. Very displease!

The jacket fits great.
I purchased one of the dark color jacket for Christmas but it seems to attract all the dust and lint.

I really love this parka- love the fit, color and the functionality of it. It looks great! Unfortunately, after 2 weeks of occasional use, I've noticed that the down fill started to come out from one of the inner seam. I checked if there's any part that is ripped but I couldn't clearly see it. However, I've found down fill falling off when I take off this jacket several times now. I'm very disappointed with the quality of this product as I had high expectations from this jacket and especially the brand. I use this coat from home to the office (driving) and for walking around the city so I would say I'm using it lightly or average at most.

This is NOT a winter parka, it is not warm enough for more than a fall coat. The zipper is a defective product and is very poor quality. My daughter has been using her coat for 2 weeks and the zipper will now not open now from the bottom, and she has to step in and out of the coat. She has moved to Europe with a work transfer and now we are faced with a long warranty process....while she needs a coat to wear!
I would not recommend buying this coat untill they sort out the deficiencies.

After three days the buttons on the jacket broke. Very disappointing that a jacket of this brand performed so poorly. My wife loved it for the three days she had it. Very expensive and unfortunately the money didn't go towards the product.

Not worth the price tag. Doesn't provide the warmth albeit being bulky/heavy and warms body up in an uncomfortable/un-breathable way. Really dislike how restricted I feel when wearing this Parka.

The zipper broke on my Patera Parka within months of using it. For such an expensive product I expect better quality.
