Just received this backpack yesterday and using it for the first time today. Really impressed with size, manuverability and the fact that it stays on one shoulder easily! What's not impressive is the material. It's incredibly "sticky", in that every dog hair, every bit of fuzz from scarves or mittens sticks to the outside of this. Overall, I'd still recommend, but get it in a different material, not the nylon.

This backpack is very high quality and is incredibly comfortable to carry. However, it doesn't have enough space and it is very hard to pack and unpack my school books/laptop. The opening isn't very well designed in my opinion. I've had other backpacks shaped in the same style, but this one for some reason is difficult to roll up and close.

I really like this bag and it seems durable. Lots of pockets and places to put things. Just wish it had the key lariat inside.

I think I bought this bag because it was on sale. It's been my everyday bag for the last two years. It's been on a few International trips with me. I always get compliments on this bag. There is plenty of storage, it's been pretty waterproof so far, but I don't think it would keep your gear dry in a heavy downpour. The upper external pocket is perfect for storing an iPad mini and a kindle. And I really like the zipper that allows access to the laptop compartment without having to unroll the top. I've added an extra water bottle holder and another molle pouch for extra storage (I like a coffee cup and water bottle). I wish there was a flap over the pen storage area and they don't stay where put and will end up in the bottom. I like this bag a lot. The only sign of wear is on one shoulder strap, some of the coating is falling off. I have bought other bags since but I don't want to give up using this one.

I bought this back back for my boyfriend for christmas. So far, he has really enjoyed it. It is slim and fashionable and great as a work backpack. I wish it came in more color options that were water resistant. My boyfriend said he wished it had a separate compartment where he could put his lunch that wasn't in the main part of the backpack. Overall, very pleased with the purchase.

Great bag! I bought this bag to replace the Chrome Industries Barrage backpack that's served me well for the last 4 years. I haven't gone back to my old Chrome bag even once since my Timbuk2 Spire arrived in the mail I love that there are external waterproof pockets that make it easy to stash and access small items like keys, glasses, etc. and I no longer lose small knickknacks in a giant rolltop bag like I used to. The side pocket is also really useful for carrying a water bottle or umbrella. Would have been nice to have the same pocket on the other side instead of the Molle webbing. The straps are really comfortable and the bag feels solid and well placed on my back. The hook that closes the main pouch flap is stylish and looks good but can be annoying to open sometimes. The bottle opener and keyring loop on the strap is also a nice touch but it would have been nice if it was a more minimalist matte black instead of the graphite/metallic color. The fact that the sternum strap can be easily removed and reattached is also a huge win. All in all, I'm super happy with the bag and hope it will last me several years of heavy use like my old Chrome bag. The only downside I can think of is the mesh material used on the back. It tends to destroy the bottom my T-shirts over time.. I'd consider using a less abbrasive material in a future model.

Overall, I'm pretty happy about the backpack. I've gotten a number of compliments on it. My main issue is that 10 minutes after I pulled mine out of the bag (brand new), to went to adjust the sternum strap and the strap completely came apart in my hands. I thought I had accidentally unhooked it or something, but after inspecting, the button holding the strap together came apart, in half. I would need to solder it back together for it to work again. Poorly made. Not a big issue, just a strap. But I emailed about getting a replacement, and it's been about 2 weeks since the email and still no strap. I might have to just go into the store and buy a new sternum strap. Not a huge deal just annoying.

My Spire has been with me for my daily commute and trips all around the world, and it's almost perfect: It's super comfortable to wear, really easy to access external pockets while wearing, has a fantastic water bottle pocket, and the roll top with hook closure is brilliant: fast to open and close, weather-resistant enough, and adjusts capacity beautifully. The look is a bit tacticool for me, but I can live with it. The bag will hold a shocking amount of stuff if needed. I only have two real complaints: The mesh fabric on the back wears out quickly (took less than a year on mine) and it could really use a few more internal pockets for organization. I'm ordering a spare Spire right now, just in case the bag is ever discontinued.

This backpack is perfect for transporting your laptop and a few other things, but is not the largest bag. Its high quality construction and low-profile design are perfect for biking to work, you forget you even have it on. Plus the water bottle holder is the best in the business.

I've had this bag for a few months now and it still looks just as new as when I got it. I haven't noticed any wear and tear. It went through its first big rainstorm and held up great, with the inside of the bag staying completely dry. Overall, it's a great bag that holds everything I need for my classes and is great in all weather conditions.

I love this backpack. That said, I wish that you made a shorter torso version by shortening the solid back panel. This would allow my laptop to fit as it does now, but would not have the solid back panel falling below the curve of my back/butt intersection. This would also make the backpack slightly lighter.

Love this backpack! It is constructed with a deep core pocket, while also providing several little pockets to keep all of your items well organized. There is also a nifty back zipper that allows you access to your laptop on the fly, and the pocket for your laptop is also well designed so that your laptop doesn't suffer any wear or tear. It is also set up with several loops that aids to hooking on several accessories like keys, helmet, etc., while also having a sweet velcro loop for your bike lock. I also appreciate the bottle opener for any emergency situations. Though I wish that the top hook was metal to lockdown the backpack, overall this is a really great investment. It's great for all of you professional out-goers out there!

I bought this bag because I needed something durable and bike-friendly for all of my adventures. It has been through sweat, rain, and mud, and is still in great condition. The padding is awesome and weight is nicely distributed. I rarely notice I'm wearing it unless I've really stuffed it full. I can fit so much in this bag, and yet it doesn't feel or look huge on my tiny 4'11" body. The only complaint I have is that it does occasionally let a little water in through the zipper areas, even if it's closed. But this only happens if it is really pouring down. I got caught biking home one day and the rain was unimaginably powerful, which is the only time any water has gotten in. And even then it was only a little water. But for normal showers it does the job. I love having so many pockets to organize my stuff, and find that I prefer this bag over any of my other bags.

I searched for a long time for a stylish pack that is also waterproof as I walk to work. We have had the wettest winter in memorable history, so keeping my ipad and laptop free from the rains was a driving factor. The pack has been great at keeping the weather out, and it seemed to me to be one of the most stylish 'urban' waterproof packs on the market. My only caveat is that I will the padded sleeve was slightly wider and the slim pockets associate with the sleeve slightly wider. I am an Architect and if I need to carry my MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro (with keyboard sleeve) I can not fit the iPad Pro in the slim sleeve with the laptop in the padded sleeve. This means the iPad sits loose in the volume of the pack.

I pulled the trigger and bought the Spire after what seemed like a year of research. I made this purchase based on many online reviews, and reading all the great reviews on this product. It works really well as an everyday carry, and commuter bag. Only drawback I have found on this bag is the lack of organizational options with it's pockets, this was also the gripe with many reviews. I found an interim solution by buying small zippered bags, which allows me to better organize my essentials (phone, wallet, bike tools, and first aid). Would I buy this again? Yes.

looks good, perfect size, good organization. i am not to confident with the durability of a nylon material . if this bag has a better material it would be the best EDC bag that i used. BUT it would be better if the material that was used was a Cordura 550D or maybe 1000D . i dont mind paying extra bucks .

I use this with the goruck travel pouches they pair nicely with it. Use the small one for my camera gear and the medium one for adapters, Tech gear like HD's and Battery packs I don't bike at all but this bag works perfect for me for walking 3 miles a day around the city. I couldn't pass up the deal i got this pack for on Blackfriday. Fits everything i bring around for my job (IT) looks great and has room to spare for a jacket or another laptop.

I really love the pack and the pockets. I wish it had a water bottle pocket on both sides and it gets a little stuffed when I try to use front pockets and the inside pocket. Overall it have a lot of starting potential though.

This pack is great for freelancing, when you have a combination of work stuff and life stuff to carry at all times and you're always essentially setting up a remote office on tables in cafes or co-working spaces or guestroom beds. It's big inside and has enough pockets but not too many. It could be a little bigger on the inside but then again I like the flat profile of it on my back. 100% happy.

I bought this bag ad an alternative to my overly heavy messenger bag that was too heavy for my neck and shoulder. The back pack distributes the weight of the bag nicely, there are a lot of pockets for my stuff, easy access to laptop, excellent bag!

I am a 29 year old University student studying Mobile and Web Application Development in Perth, Australia I have bought many expensive laptop bags before but they all had their problems and limitations. It is with that previous experience in mind that chose to purchase this bag in particular as it addressed many of the complaints I had with my previous bags. I use this bag to transport my daily kit to and around my university campus and if I ever have enough money to travel, I will also use it then too. ____________________________________________________________________ Usage scenarios I bought and use this bag for: - "my laptop is my life": The internal laptop pocket is well designed and my 13" laptop feels nice and secure inside it and is also well protected from the outside world. I keep a 10.1" tablet in the tablet pocket and that also seems nice and secure and adequately segregated from the rest of the bags contents. As an application development student I can assure you that a) my laptop was not cheap and b) I trust this bag to safely and securely hold it - Arriving late at a crowded lecture and needing to quickly access my laptop before everyone in the room has a chance to notice and make note of my inability to get my life together: The TSA friendly zip on the back of the bag is great for quickly grabbing my laptop without having to unpack anything from the main pocket. - "Oh No! low battery!, wheres my laptop charger!?": The upper front pocket is perfect for my laptop charging cable and is easy to access with the bag completely closed. - "Now where did I put my Student ID Card...?": The internal organisational pockets are good for little things that need a dedicated place. Pens or bulky items should not be stored in these however as it can make accessing or removing items in the main pocket annoying as they can get caught on anything protruding from these pockets. The zippered pocket here is perfect for my slim external HDD. - "I'm Thirsty!" the water bottle holder is well designed and holds a standard sports water bottle securely without fear of it falling out. Also, it being an external pocket and the main bag being water proof, there is no risk of beverage ever meeting laptop. It's also easy enough to reach with the bag on your back but it will take a bit of practice to perfect putting the water bottle back without seeing what your doing. - "Hope I've got everything!": the Main pocket is big enough to fit: 2 x A4 note pads, 2 x average textbooks (or one large(thick) one) 1 x Accessory bag (External CD Drive, Spare Mouse, Usb drives etc) 1 x Over ear headphones in a hard case 1 x Pencil Case 1 x Neatly rolled up Jacket/Hoodie But that's about it, This is a bag for people who plan ahead and know what they will need. If you're the type to pack everything you own for every occasion you may find this bags limits quicker than you think. ________________________________________________________ In addition to the scenarios/use cases above I also was drawn to this bag for its subdued styling and general durability. It's only been a few weeks and while the bag feels/looks/tastes/exudes quality and durability, time will tell but I am expecting good things.

Let's be clear I absolutely love this bag, I love the design, I love the quality and I love the flexibility of adding attachments. I bought this backpack really to protect my MacBook and needing space for my commute to work. I also wanted the easy access to the laptop. The big issue with this bag is you can't get much in it, it's so narrow that I can't really even get in a lunchbox. The bag is 32 litres but be warned that means you are struggling as it has no depth. When the bag is full the front pocket (only pocket) becomes redundant, you can't get anything in or out easily. It's painful and I hate the limitations but if I'm honest I still love it and can deal with the challenges. It's unique, it's cool and I love the design. Also not too many people with these in Australia.
