Bag is cooler than the photo represents! Great quality and looks. Really like the carbon color and fabric! Thanks

Lean, but commodious. Sleek, but tough. Rugged, but thoughtful. This one has everything and looks good. The only feature I missing is an internal lanyard for keys, but it's easy to add. I've had bags from this companystarting with a basic messengersince 1998, and I keep coming back. Not because the old ones wear out: they just won't. It's because they keep finding new and better ways to carry your stuff (darn you, profanity filter).

If you have to bike, board, or fly to campus every day this back pack is for you. Plenty of space and areas to hook and hang things from. The u lock holder is a plus to a biker, like me, where at Uc Davis I bike daily to and from work and campus. Only downside, the strap that holds your computer in place is always blocked by my books or anything in my pack. Kinda wish it was smaller or not there? But everything else is perfect.

I bought this for my Son who had an older model that lasted several years. He enjoys the new color and says it works great.

When the strap wore out on my old bag, I got this as a replacement. Love the design, use it for bike commutes as well as as weekend bag - great water resistance, just the right size, and looks pretty sleek. Would definitely recommend.

It took me a while to buy this bag because i dont live near a store (none in London...?). I had researched it and based on on-line reviews was tending towards the Rouge because I thought the Spire might be too big (my old bag was 25 L). So glad I waited to see them side by side! It felt like most of the difference was in the roll-down height, which doesnt matter unless the bags are fully loaded. The single hook closure of the Spire is more convenient and the pockets in the Spire are WAY better. I'm loving the deep front pocket with two "levels" (interior webbed pocket up high and pocket bottom down low) and the side-zipping pocket is perfect for passport. Only feature i dont use is the top zip to directly access the laptop; thought it was cool when i bought the bag but have yet to use it once. One small whinge: why not have a second drink-bottle pocket on the other side? Sometimes i travel with cofee AND a water-bottle.

I bought this bag in black 5 years ago, it got some wear and needed replacing, so I went online and purchased the this one and when it came, the areas that had been worn down on my old black bag, were now made of a better material that seemingly will last even longer. Great bag, stylish, and can pretty much everything a college student needs.

Let's be real: all products have some things that don't quite work for the end user, so I'll get those out of the way first: despite being big, the inner compartment is somehow still hard to get down to the bottom of. Something about being somewhat narrow towards the bottom and having an internal organization pocket that sometimes diverts your hand as you reach in. Maybe a side zipper or a side-to-top zipper (ooh yeah, actually--continue that top back zipper down around the side!) would help break this bag open when needed. I also wish the front pocket zip allowed more access to the front pocket, which is nice and deep.
Ok, good stuff? This bag rules. Side zip stash pockrt and the sort-of-concealed-but-not-really top zip laptop access zip are my two favorite features. Makes the bag so useful. Cup holder on side is great, webbing is great, laptop pouch with additional notebook/tablet pouch that also gets secured with the strap, perfect. Internal pen org is sweet, though I usually just slap pens on the webbing in the outside of my bag before I get going. I had a tb2 rogue bag before this and one huge change I like is they swapped the Velcro piece that recieves the laptop strap to be the fuzzy one instead of the hooked one on the inside of the bag laptop pouch. My old bag would just eat all my servers to shreds, this one very smartly avoids that issue.
Waterproof in the rain, and cool on my back when biking in the heat. I dig it.
I don't know I could say lots of good stuff, i love it.

This pack is comfortable, sleek, and spacious. I only need it to get me to and from work in the Portland, OR rain, and it does just that. The velcro is really strong, and I love the easy accessibility featires this pack provides. It's comfy to wear when commuting by bike as well. For a sturdy, well made pack, the price is right. Wouldn't be my first choice for travel but definitely my choice for commute.

I own the Timbuk2 Classic Messenger, and frankly, as a remote marketer, I have too much crud that I lug from place to place for the single strap design to be comfy. Hence, the pickup of this lovely bag. It's a great, great buy - super sturdy, and surprisingly roomy considering that the bag is not a giant. I LOVE the separate laptop zipper, as it makes quick grabs for my computer effortless. One very minor complaint - I wish there were just a few more interior pockets, but that's me just being picky. Grab this bag - you will not be disappointed.

I used this for school for a few months before taking it to the limits on my road bike. It held all my books, supplies, laptop and charger, without looking bulky.
Once I got a job and chose to commute by bike, I was surprised by how well it handled everything. Each day I pack my laptop, lunch, a change of clothes & shoes, a light jacket, Beats headphones, a book and a few bike tools. It still looks great and has a bit of room to spare.
It is very well made and has a lot of pockets and compartments for everything a business or academic commuter could need in a bag.
Needless to say, I feel pretty fly as I cruise around Chicago.

I just received this backpack for school/travel. I am college student and also travel internationally frequently and wanted something that was practical and stylish. I was surprised at first to see how well made the backpack was. And the side pocket and front pockets are very spacious. I think it will hold up for a long time.

Lightweight which is a plus when you carrying 2 computers and an Ipad.
Love the design and the "catch all" big pocket.

As a college student who attends school in nyc, there is two things I needed with a bag. 1, stylish 2, size. I've seen students with those bags that are as wide as a suitcase on their back. I didn't want that. I wanted a top roll bag so i didnt need to worry and zippers. also wanted a side zip pocket. I have been looking at the spire pack for a while and finally decided to buy one. Greatest backpack ever. Also great for travel.

I am a college student, and I have been using this backpack throughout my four years as a school backpack, and as a travel backpack for flying back and forth from school to home. I love it. It is sturdy, and stylish (I get compliments on it all the time). It is not too big to be obnoxious for daily use, but it is very spacious for when you need it to be. Overall, I think it is a functional, well-made bag. If I ever need to replace this bag, it will also be a Timbuk2 bag.

I don't often write reviews, but this bag has been so useful and so stylish that it has become a staple in my life. It's years old now, and it is exactly the same with no noticeable wear or tear. I am constantly packing it with books or laptops, harddrives, interfaces, small instruments, cables, pencils, paper, folders, everything, and it stays magically slim even enough to slide under the seat on airplanes. I have a long torso so it fits perfectly on my back even if packed to the last rung of the roll-top. I also get compliments on the style. LOVE IT.

Bought this backpack last week and I've been using it since. I came from a Herschel Little America, and I'm a huge fan of bags that are 30L+ in volume, this backpack was perfect, it comes at a great price and the features are terrific. The pockets in front fit my wallet, power bank, daily medicines, IDs, and etc, and there's so much more room to spare.
This backpack is also lightweight and I tend to carry a lot of things when I head to work. This is just perfect, I highly recommend this if you're looking for the following:
- Cool looking backpack
- Commute-ready pack since its water-resistant (I even sprayed my bag with some liquid coating)
- Plenty of pockets
- Large compartment
- Worry-free laptop compartment (you don't even have to worry about dropping it since the bag's form ensures that if you drop it by accident, your laptop is still fine.
Highly recommend this for anybody out travelling, commuting, or working in a startup. Might not be the kind of bag to be used in a strict corporate setting since the material isn't exactly formal.

Love this backpack. I use it daily for school and outer state trip, ranging from camping, hiking, conference, etc. I wish it is a bit bigger. Also the pencil compartment is hard to access sometime if you have like a small usb that stuck deep into a pocket. May be fully cover entire backpack with water proof. On the inside, only the left side are padded and may be waterproof. The right side literally feel like a single layer of fabric. Beside that, best backpack so far.

This is the best backpack that I have ever owned! I am a college student and I used to only have a bicycle to get around. This backpack was the perfect carrier for both school and grocery shopping. I can comfortably carry my books, laptop, notebooks, pens, U-Lock, water bottle, two wrenches, bike chain lube, and even a full lunch. I cannot stress enough how convenient the U-Lock holder is on this backpack. This bag is also more comfortable while riding a bike than while walking. I have had the bag for 3 years now and have experienced very minimal wear. I have used it for travel, commuting, groceries and more. No matter how I have used this bag it performs extremely well. I have also gotten it thoroughly drenched numerous times and none of my electronics have so much as been damaged. Great job Timbuk2! Truly an amazing product!

I've had this pack for about a month and use it every day for bicycle commuting, carrying groceries, and travel. It holds much more than I expected; a six-pack, quart plastic container, clothes, and laptop fit nicely and didn't fill it to capacity. Great distribution of weight and nothing felt like it was prodding.
I haven't yet tested it in heavy rain, nor have I carried a lot of weight for a long distance. However, it has held up well in light rain and feels comfortable with moderate weight on a ~30 minute bicycle commute.
The laptop sleeve/internal organization is perfect, though the rear access is a little annoying and unnecessary. The u-lock straps are a nice addition.
Some reflective material would be a nice touch, and I'm hoping this is truly waterproof.
