I purchased these for my husband who was experiencing severe leg pain. After an extensive workup failed to reveal any medical problems, he started wearing these Birkenstocks and, like magic, the pain disappeared. Apparently, all he needed was arch support, and these sandals provided that. The sandals also met with the approval of his podiatrist. I think they are an excellent product.

Nice sandals. They have good support and are easy to adjust to fit the foot. They also look nice.

I like how these have a little bit of personality to them. Their not like the Arizona style ; which everyone has, they have a little personality to them which makes me like them even more.

As a twenty-something with terrible feet these shoes were exactly what I needed! Cute enough that I can make them business casual while having a thick sole and rear foot control with the strap. I love my Chaco sandals for everyday wear, but after these Birkenstocks I'm definitely sticking to them as my work shoe of choice. Much more comfortable and supportive than the leather Chacos I've bought. If you have a sesamoid injury or need limited movement in your big toe joint these shoes will serve you well. The only issue I've had is that they feel a little narrow as I typically wear a women's size 12 and these are 11s. I'm sure they'll feel more comfortable after a little breaking in though.

Love the ankle strap- they won't come off while walking! These fit perfectly after a day or two of breaking them in and they're also really cute.

I'm like Goldilocks when it comes to shoes, even with Birkenstocks. The Birkenstock summer shoes that I've tried had too soft of a footbed, or a thong that pushed my bunioned big toe too far to the side, or a strap around the big toe that held it in place while the other toes moved, aggravating my bunion more, or there was no ankle strap which made the shoe not "move" with my foot, causing great arch pain... but the Rios are (almost) just right. They are very cute, probably the most feminine Birkenstock sandal I've seen, looking almost like a "regular" sandal, and have an ankle strap that would make me feel comfortable running in them (if I had to) without fear of the shoe flying off. I can adjust the front straps so that they don't rub my bunions, which is great. The one complaint I have is that they are not leather. If Birkenstock could make a Rio in leather for the US market, they would be perfect. But they are still a 5-star sandal to me.

This sandal is so comfortable and cute. I can wear them all day walking around Disneyland. The narrow width was perfect for my foot. This is my second pair of Birkenstock and it won't be my last. It's definitely a shoe that will last for many years.

Great sandals for wide feet (regular width in Birks fits more like a wide) and high arches. The back strap doesn't have to be unbuckled to get on and off, which is handy. I just wish they were available in more colors!

This is without a doubt the best 100 bucks I've ever spent on a sandal. Don't know why I waited so long to buy my first pair of Birks. I could literally live in these shoes. The ankle strap on this Rio makes it the supreme Birk in my opinion. They can be worn with anything. They never go out of style. I can't say enough great things about Rio. This is a great shoe!

Received package in good shape,comes as per the size chosen, very comfortable.Normally I can't stand for long or walk for long due to constant foot pain, but with this I feel very comfortable and relaxed even though standing for longer time. Not giving 5 star on style aspect as I feel they could have done a better job over here

Cute and comfortable. Good arch support--I have high arches and can wear these with no pain. Good for skirts and jeans/pants. while still a bit dressier than slip ons.

This is my fourth pair of Birkenstocks and I'm absolutely in love with them. I ordered these off of amazon and waited two months to get these and still didn't receive them. After, I decided to buy these shoes off of zappos and was very pleased with the service I received. I ordered them, they were shipped the same day, and I received the shoes two days later. Very pleased. Aside from the service, I absolutely love these shoes and would love to purchase more Birkenstocks in the future. They are super comfortable and have great arch support. My doctor recommended me to wear these because of their great arch support.

These are my first pair of Birkenstocks (I have worn Target versions for years) and I was SO impressed! I wore them for the first time on a trip to NYC with tons of walking and had no issues breaking them in. I ordered a size down thanks to the advice of other reviewers and they fit perfectly. I have high arches and my feet pronate, so these are a lifesaver. I have narrow feet and was worried these would look clunky but they do not! The fact that they have a back is helpful as well, so I don't feel like I have to grip using my toes like I do with other sandal styles. Perfect summer shoe!

I purchased these and immediately put them on. I walked downtown and they were extremely comfortable. I have bunions and the footbed and regular width are perfect. The only thing better would be if they came in the soft bed. My Arizona's have that and it is like walking on soft foam.

Incredibly comfortable! I wore them all day over various terrains and my feet were comfortable. While I originally believed the sandals would be very casual in appearance, the black leather was surprisingly flattering and go with a wider range of clothing.

I own several pairs of Birkenstocks, so these were joining a much loved collection. They fit as expected and look great. A little sporty and able to dress up too.

Order a size smaller. Holes can be added to both straps if foot is narrow. Leather softens in a couple days of wear. Great support & stylish!

I wear a size 7 1/2 shoe. I tried the size 38 and it was a bit too small in one foot so I exchanged it for a size 39. That was way too big. I had to return it also. I wish Birkenstock had half sizes as this was a very attractive and feminine look for a Birkenstock shoe.

Bought these for my teen daughter. She needed a pair of walking shoes/sandals for our vacation to Europe. She loves them! They've been both comfy and cute right out of the box. Best of all she likes them enough to continue to wear them on the reg. She has skinny ankles and felt like she needed to punch an extra hole in, but easy enough of a fix.

Choosing the Birkenstock Rio was one of the best decisions I made! They are my first pair of Birkenstocks so I wanted to have sandals with an ankle strap. I have been using them for almost two months now and they are breaking in nicely! At first they did feel a little hard, but now that I've used them they are getting very comfortable. I love the style and I know that these are one of best shoes for my feet with such great support! The only thing I would recommend is watch out for your size... I usually wear a 39 (8.5-9.0) and at first I ordered a 39 and it was too big. So I got a 38 and it fit a lot better. Overall highly recommend these shoes!

I have small, narrow feet, a bunion, and I pronate. I prefer socks with sandals year round, and tend to slip out of slides. This is the perfect everyday shoe for me! The straps are not too thick, have plenty of adjustment for thick or thin socks, and are comparatively light weight compared to the old original leather upper Birks. Plus, I know the cork foot bed will last for years and years.
