Regular wear when it's rainy or wet out. They last long and keep the feet dry. Wish the insole had a little more cushion.

Comfortable shoe, fits well. The rubber on the front of the shoe needs better glue.

This is my 4th pair of North Face shoes all fit my normal size, but this shoe will require a half size smaller.

Took it out of box for a 4 mile medium hike, shoes true to size. Feet no complain after hike, good grip. As above I will put in a thicker insert , not test the water resistant yet.

I like these shoes, but they run about a full size smaller than the Keens that I usually wear. Try these on before you buy them.

I like these, but decided to return them for a mid/hightop hiking boot. But if you're looking for a lowtop hiking sneaker/boot, especially with GTX, these are the way to go! Solid and great tread. Not much padding, but that's pretty normal for TNF.

Not sure what happened, but I have owned at least 3 other pairs of these and this pair I just got in the same size are suddenly too big, by at least half a size.

I am normally leery at ordering shoes online - one company's 8 is another's 9 1/2. But these came true to size (thanks for the European to US conversion, BTW - can't tinker as much with European sizes). Overall it's a comfortable shoe, not too out there in color. Plus I love the fact that they paired **real** leather with the Gore-Tex. Too soon to see how the tread wears, but they are Vibram, so they should last.

Ordered 11W. Plenty wide; but the GTX liner in right shoe had a wrinkle in the right toe box. Could feel it with big toe on each step. Since I liked the shoe, I ordered another 11W; this right toe box liner wrinkle was worse than first pair. I emailed Customer Service to see I they would check their remaining inventory of 7 pairs; they declined to do that. I ordered a 3rd pair; right toe box liner wrinkle again a problem. I kept the least offense pair; will wear a heavier sock to buffer my toe. Returns were easy; Customer Service helped me when I failed to print one of three Return Labels from website.

I have been trying to find a pair of waterproof running shoes. I have tried many different pairs and these were at the top of my acceptable list. Pros: These are waterproof. Construction was good and comfort was good. Cons: These shoes fit a little large overall. Not sloppy but not like a running shoe. I think the fit is more geared towards people who were thick socks. The cushion is a little firm for me.

I can't count how many pairs of North Face hedgehogs I've purchased. They are a little more athletic cut than Merrell Moab's. They seem a little narrower in the toe box, and I find them to be a generally better fit. They're a light shoe for hiking, but a good shoe for being on your feet all day. I wish North Face sold a non goretex version for better breathability. They did change styles a few years ago, and I had to move up a half size larger for a comfortable fit.

This is the best shoe I have found that is waterproof and warm, with goretex, but not excessively hot to wear all day in the winter. Many others made my feet way too hot. So, this is my third pair of hedgehogs (2nd of this identical one - but 3rd in 5 years or so). They hold up for about 2-3 years of winter-only (6 months a year) until the inside flattens out and the back starts to fray near the ankle area & the whole shoe starts to loosen up too much. Within that time though, they are pretty good, especially in the cold and snow.

Feels like it is supposed to be a hiking shoe not a sneaker by any means. I have not been able to hike while is is wet out as of yet to test the gtx but it does show it is lined with gore-tex. Comfort is good and I use these for everyday walking not just hiking. I can say so far a well built shoe for price point you cannot go wrong with gtx lined shoe.

The insert was very thin. No cushion. At least a 1/2 to full size small and narrower. I sent it back and bought the Merrell outmost vent instead and feel they are more comfortable, but still needed a 1/2 size larger. I am convinced both brands are running smaller than in the past.

I have been looking for a good lightweight trail shoe for a 100 mile hike that we will be taking this fall in Northern Spain. I have been a long time Merrill user but wanted to see if I could find even more comfort and support. I read the reviews carefully and thought that this was a good choice- but I am afraid not. For a trail shoe, the fit is way too snug, the shoe is very stiff and it seems like it has virtually no padding or support. It looks like I will be going back to my stand by shoe after all. This is not a bad shoe by any means, it is an ok shoe- but I was looking for a great shoe!

The shoe was light weight and breathable which was what I was looking for as a summer shoe, but it just didn't fit me right. The toe box was roomy and my heel stayed in place but the sole of the shoe was hard.
