As advertised, these were extremely cushion-y right out of the box. Unfortunately, after a few minutes of walking around on a hardwood floor, I realized that some stability was sacrificed for the softness, and the shoe hurt the entire side of both feet! Something to do with the mesh and the little strips of solid material, maybe? They are going back, and I'll order another pair of the Gel Kahanas. Asics hasn't "improved" them since I bought the current style, and they're a good blend of cushion and stability.

I normally wear a size 9 shoe. Sometimes a 9½. After reading the reviews I decided to size up and ordered a 9½. The padding and arch support in the shoe was wonderful. Very comfortable and cushiony but it was too long and too narrow. I do sometimes wear a wide but usually if I order up half a size I do not need wide. I returned the 9½ and ordered a 9W. Length wise it was perfect but still too narrow. There did not appear to be much difference between the medium and the wide. I have reordered the same shoes in an extra wide (I have never worn an extra wide). They should arrive today. Zappos' free shipping and customer service are the best out there. Thank you, Zappos! I can always count on you!

I had been wearing Asics Kayano but discovered they are designed for people who over pronate. Since I under pronate, the Kayano, which I loved in every other way, was causing problems. An alternative was the Nimbus, and this shoe has solved my pronation issues. The fit, however, is not a delight. I usually wear a medium, but I had to go to a wide in this shoe. Even with this adjustment, the toe box is narrow and the overall fit is snug. I had a hard time choosing because I wanted a color, but the choices are not very appealing. I would love to see the Kayano fit with the Nimbus structuring.

Amazingly cushioned and comfy. However compared to my regular shoe, cumulus, the toe box is not as roomy. Also needed half size larger than usual. Heel was nice and snug which I liked!

I am coming from the gel nimbus 15's. I thought I would give these a shot. I really like them. They are lighter than the 15's with the same support.

I wore the previous model (gel #15) for a year. Ten I tried the gel #16. They were not the same at all! I was disappointed and returned two pairs (different sizes). Kept looking and then found the more recent model gel #17 which was lots more expensive and maybe just a tad different from the #15, but my poor feet need what they need. I used my gels as the first shoes following extensive foot surgery last year. That works for me, my feet and my back. And, as always, the service and people at Zappos? Best I know!

These shoes definitely feel like the Nimbus 15. I had to order a full size up as I wear custom orthodics in them. I am a little concerned about the decals - they seem like they are glued on. I hope they do not peel off. The design of the 15 is way better - they seem to be more sturdy around the toolbox. But I absolutely loved the Nimbus 15 so I will give these a try.

I've had these shoes about 10 months. I don't wear them all the time; in fact, for about three months, I just carried them back and forth to the gym because I wanted them to stay as nice as possible for as long as possible. It wasn't until summer really hit that I started wearing them outside. Overall, I like ASICS and have brand loyal for quite some time. However, I'm disappointed in these shoes because the material along the upper part [where the sides come up along the inside and outside of your foot] is torn and foam is visible. Really -- $100+ for these shoes, treated them so gingerly and the material tears/foam is visible. Really disappointing.

Need to order one half size up. I wear this brand on a regular basis and has always run true to size. However, this particular style is short. Unfortunately, I already have worn them and now they hurt.

I have wide feet. I did purchase this style a half size up in the normal width several months ago and loved them. The primary reason for my purchase was to help with a bout of plantar fasciitis. This time around I decided to purchase them in my regular size in the wider width (D). Big mistake. I've changed the way I lace them to make them more comfortable, but they feel much narrower than the previous shoes I purchased. I'm sure time will break them in, but it's a lesson well learned for me.

Absolutely the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!! Unfortunately, my toes popped through the mesh in a mere 7 weeks. Also had problems with the top of the shoe fold cutting into my toes when I would go outside in air temps under 20 degrees. Returned.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I have three pair of Cumulus 16. These looked pretty good. However, they run short. Same size as the other pair but my big toe touches the end. The toe box is very stiff. That probably contributes to the discomfort.

Ordered these in my usual 11.5 size for Asics and they were short and too narrow across the toe. I've tried 3 different styles now and each has been too short. The Asics have apparently changed the sizing because I've had 3 pairs of 11.5 narrow that have been fine previously.

I've been wearing Asics for years but unfortunately I was disappointed with these. Yes, this shoe offers extreme cushioning, but the quality of materials seems to have declined and the fit seems off. My last pair of Gel Nimbus were 9.5 but in these I needed a 9. The toe box is narrow and the heel is wide and loose so my heels slip when I walk.

the top is cute, & it fits pretty good, except, the sleeves hang down almost to my knees (completely covers hands/fingers). Never seen anything so odd. Thought about having it tailored-but that'd b a pain, and cost, also there's a lot of lace on the sleeves-not sure if it could be tailored. Bummer.

What is crazy is I have worn Asics Gel Nimbus for years. I buy a pair for indoor (support for my knees) and I have 2 for gym/daily outdoor. I buy a pair or two approximately every 6 months so I have had a LOT of Nimbus. These new ones are not the same as they used to be. I wore them for about 2 weeks (indoors) and they feel like they are not as supportive over time - in only 2 weeks. Something has changed with this model. If you buy them because you have worn them in the past, wear them inside for quite awhile to be sure they are right for you. They are not the same! Never did a pair feel so different, so fast.

I bought these for a trip to Europe because I wanted a shoe with a maximum amount of cushioning. These are incredibly comfortable - I could wear them for walking all day and my feet still felt good at the end. My only complaint was that the left shoe seemed to have a tightness across the top of the toe box, no matter how much I loosened the lacing. I've looked through the other reviews and either it's something with my foot or the particular pair of shoes I have. Unfortunately, this issue didn't show up until I was wearing them on the trip, so I can't return them. As others have said, order at least a half a size up and go wide even if you normally wear a medium width.

The plus: this is the most comfortable sneaker I have ever owned. Better than Asics Gel Nimbus 16. I'm in love with these sneakers. The minus: I wore these somewhat frequently over the past 7 months, but they've fallen apart and worn out more quickly than any other pair of sneakers I've ever owned. Now I have to buy new ones.

I'm usually a 6.5M or 7M in Asics sneakers but decided to order the 7D in this style to accommodate a new and still relatively mild bunion. The Nimbus-17 fit smaller than expected. The 7D felt like a regular 6.5M without socks! With thin socks, they were uncomfortably snug. Unfortunately Zappos is currently out of the 7.5D. I agree with another reviewer who said the toe box was narrow and the overall length of shoe was shorter than usual. However, there is quite a lot of cushioning so perhaps it's the extra padding that is making it feel smaller. I also like how the midsole is slightly wider, which gives it a sturdier, more balanced effect. The soft mesh upper seems like it'd be good for breathability but unfortunately not weather/waterproof. I'm still on the fence about this particular style b/c for this cost I expected a bit more. Maybe once the 7.5D comes back in stock, I'll give it another try.

I ordered these because they came in narrow. However, rather than cutting and molding these to a narrow fit, they are filled with more "stuffing" to make the heel a tighter fit. This caused major blisters and friction.

First I order my regular size which is 8W. It was too small and tight. I then order an 8 1/2 W. It still feels too narrow but, I have worn them outside and can not return. I guess I will give them to someone with a narrower foot. Very disappointed.

I tried this size and model on at a brick and mortar store and loved it. I ordered from Zappos because they had a better color selection. But when the shoes arrived, they were uncomfortable -- the place where the toe creases hits me wrong when I flex my foot. I don't know if the ones I tried on were odd, or if the ones I received were odd.

When I first put on this shoe, I thought it was great - so nice and cushiony. But after walking around in it, the back started to rub and the front of the shoe did not fit my foot very well.

I can't figure out what it is about this shoe...have always worn the Gel Nimbus but this is so bulky and uncomfortable. It feels so heavy on my foot. Unfortunately it has to go back and I need to look for a more lightweight running shoe than this.

NOT the Nimbus 15. The ones from China and Indonesia were better than this. I always take my Nimbus in a half size bigger...so it was not fit. It's a construction issue.
