Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I have four pairs of the same pants in different colors in size 10. After a year, I ordered a size 12 in a neutral color, and it fit tighter than all my size 10s. I am unsure as to why the manufacturer has changed the sizing.

Size is too small in waist - I normally wear size 2-4 and order a size 6. Now that color is out of stock. Also, I agree, all of the pockets are tiny, which is a shame because when hiking, pockets are essential.

Low rise, smaller than I've seen in the same size columbia pants previously. If they were a bit higher rise it might've been fine (for a tight fit), but might recommend buying two sizes in order to find the best one.

I love these overall, however the pockets leave a lot of room for improvement. I wear these hiking and the pockets are too shallow to reliably hold my cell phone, and the zipper pocket is way too small. The back pocket is also too small to comfortly put my phone in. The pants also snag very easily.

I have an older pair of the same exact model number in the same size. The new one is tight - not at all the same size as the older one. On fact at least a size smaller.

Nice quality and style. You have to buy 2 sizes up. I am size 2, I ordered size 4 and they were tight from the waist.

Definitely don't run true to size. Size up for these pants. Otherwise they seem great.

These don't fit high enough on the waist for me. Also, these aren't long enough even though I ordered the tall.

Material is comfortable. Only downfall is sizing seemed to run small.

Great lightweight material with some stretch. However, No stretch to the waistband so returned.

I did like this material a lot (needed non cotton) but ladies, these run extremely small!! I am sending back and trying a size 10 because the 6 and 8 didn't work. I haven't gained any weight and I'm always a 6 or 8 depending on the brand. I could barely get the 8 on much less zip them at all! I did order the long length so maybe that made a difference but I'm not sure. Hopefully the 10 works because I do like the material and the straight leg is flattering. I wish there was a button instead of snap closures because I find the snaps can wear out over the years, but it is a double snap which is nice if only one were to fail.

Ordered the recommended size and it is very tight around the hips and rides up in the crotch. I'm 5'4", 135 lbs, waist 29", hips 38", inseam 29. A size 6 was too small.

So much potential- the feel of the material and the slim leg opening amongst them but the pockets are seal breakers front pockets are not deep enough to be functional and thigh pocket is too small and oddly shaped. Returning them

Great style but sizing has changed. I have previously purchased two other same style pants, different colors, but these pants were too small.

The pockets gapped, and have vertical edges so my phone would fall out. And the zip leg pocket isn't deep enough to hold my phone. The fit was otherwise fine, but I returned them.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I have to echo the other reviews on here about weird sizing - I’m a 4 in everything pretty consistently but these didn’t fit at ALL. I could button them if all I wanted to do was stand and not breathe. Not sure if I should order a 6 or just try a different brand. Otherwise they seemed like cool pants!

I used to love these pants with the sun protection, their comfort, and looks. Unfortunately, I find the ones manufactured in a India a good half-inch smaller. They fit snugly, while the ones made in Vietnam are loose although the same size. I have multiple ones made at each location and the size difference is consistent.

I truly wanted to love these pants, but when they arrived I could tell they were going to be too short. They also run quite small, and I had already sized up one whole size. I am 5'9" tall and wear a size 8 or 10. I would say they are well made, and I do like the omni shield fabric, but I had to take them back to the Columbia store nearest me. Good news, I found a fabulous pair of pants at the shop as well as two Columbia shirts, so it was a win/win after all.

I normally wear a size 8 in these and ordered a new pair assuming the sizing would be same. Not the case. I ended up exchanging them for a size 12 instead! The legs seem to be quite a bit more narrow than previous, with less stretch. Otherwise, the material is lightweight and protective in the heat.

Would like these pants more if the front pockets were larger. They don't fit a small smart phone securely so beware, if you like picking your phone up 18x while you hike/walk then these are the pants for you! The fit is decent, but as other reviewers have noted they run small, I typically wear a 12, ordered up to a 14 and they are still snug in the waist. Fabric is nice, very breathable, wore them to a construction site on a 96F day--was comfortable and quick drying and they didn't tear or snag.

Ok pants. They wrinkle terribly, they stretch to the point of sloppiness (order a size smaller than you normally wear), and the front pockets are NOT to be trusted to secure anything. By anything I mean not even chapstick is safe.
