I have a 16" calf circumference and these Hunter Adjustable Boots were ideal! Not only did they fit my calf but I still had enough room left over! They are super comfortable and very cute on. I am 5' tall and these boots fit my height just perfectly. Keep in mind that these run a little big, I am a size 8½ and I ordered these in a size 8 and I still had a lot of room left over to wiggle around in. These are the best rain boots every day.

I usually wear a size 6.5 but ordered these in a 6 and they fit perfect with extra room to spare for bulky socks. They are super comfortable and easy to slip on and off. Highly recommend! Worth the $$!

I've been wanting Hunter boots for awhile now, and I'm so happy I finally bought them! These boots run true to size, and the adjustable back will help me coordinate them with pants of varying thickness. It's beautiful shade of green, not too dark at all.

These boots are great! I have pretty thick calves, and these work great for me. I live in a perpetually moist atmosphere and these boots are cute enough to wear to work. Walking in them takes a little getting used to. I think I might benefit from adding soles. Other than that, highly recommend!

I don't have particularly large calves but I like being able to adjust the boots based on socks and/or pants that I'm wearing.

I bought these boots for my daughter who is a Freshman at Indiana University in Indiana. We don't have much rain where we live, so this is all new to me. My daughter ABSOLUTELY LOVES, LOVES, LOVES these boots. They fit perfectly. I tried to send her some others, but the calf was too tight. These are perfect! She is getting lots of compliments on them too- and the color. She is thrilled. The order came very quickly, just in time for a day with a big down pour of rain. This is my first purchase on Zappos but I'll be back. Great experience!

I love my Hunter wellies. I do wish I had gotten them in the traditional Hunter green but the navy is very nice, too. I am 5'8" with long athletic legs - my calves measure 16". The Original Hunter boots were a bit too small to comfortably slip on over jeans. It would have been a workout every time I wanted to wear them and rubber doesn't stretch. I thought about ordering the Huntress but I'm too tall for a short boot - it ended at the widest part of my calf and made my legs look short and stocky. When I discovered the Original Adjustable, it was like the stars aligned. Someone else mentioned that the gusset sticks out in the back. It does a little bit but I don't find that it sticks out too much and I actually like the strap in the back. I am able to pull quite a bit of the material together and still comfortably slip the boot on over jeans and thick knee high socks. There's plenty of room for larger calves to do the same if you let the gusset out. The height is just as tall as the Original and hits about 1-2" below the knee on me - just enough to have your cute knee high socks peak out over the top. The boot does fit about 1/2 size large even with thick socks. I suggest sizing 1/2 size down if you're between sizes but not sure if I'd risk sizing a full size down if you're an even size. Even though they're a bit big on me, they're really comfortable. Not too heavy, not too hot. I'm sold.

I have a very skinny calf and it is so hard to find boots that fit properly. These are adjustable and look great! I normally wear a 5 1/2 - 6. Ordered a 6 and they were pretty big. I decided to put an insert in and use thicker socks and they are perfect now! Love my Hunter Boots so much I have ordered another pair!

The boots were almost impossible for me to get on and off. I have a high instep--and could have been the reason. Once I got them on they were way to big (sloppy) around the ankles. Love the color and the look of the boot. Just didn't work for me.

Love and obsessed! I am a size 10-14 depending on the day & fit with large-ish calves (Even when I'm a size 6 I got me some calves, girl). I ordered Orig Tall, Huntress, and Orig Black Adjustable. As suspected, Orig Talls were too tight in calf. Huntress fit my calves great but was shorter than I like (shorter/below knee). The Original Back Adjustable are just perfect! I can't figure out exactly how to adjust ("lock-in"), but I don't think the back panel looks funny or anything. Also, I'm a shoe size 8 1/2 for 20+ years. I ordered an 8 in these and that was perfect in both Orig Back Adjust & Original Tall. Shoe sz 8 in Huntress was huge on my feet, probably would have exchanged for a 7 if I were keeping. I'm so excited for a rainy or snowy day! Bring and it, cause now I'm ready!

The back adjustable Hunter boots fit me perfectly! I'm shorter (5'1), so the original Hunters were too tight in the calf (I couldn't wear knee socks with them and they buckled a lot) then the huntress were so wide I could almost walk out of them. The back adjustable allows me to make them wider for thick knee socks, then make them tighter for everyday wear!

For years I've been on the lookout for a nice pair of Hunter boots. For my job, I am constantly traveling around the state during poor weather. I was in search of a boot that was practical for inclement weather, but also something with more of a mature style than your average rain boots. These were the perfect fit - literally and figuratively! My favorite aspect of this boot is how they remind me of riding boots. I love the way they look and feel. I was unsure what size to buy, so I purchased an 8 and a 9. I typically wear an 8.5 in rain boots, so I decided to keep the 8. I decided i would rather have the boots be a little more snug rather than loose - we all know there is nothing worse than being that girl making all the noise in the floppy rain boots. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and highly recommend to anyone with wide calves!

Love these boots. I wear a 9.5 and have a 15 inch calf, I bought a 9 and can wear them with wool socks just fine. The originals were tight, I could not wear with jeans tucked in. These are a much better option. They are high, I am 5'5" and they come just below my knee. But that is the reason why I went with these not the huntress. I bought the blue and they are not bright blue but more navy/charcoal. Comfy and no ankle bagging too. Will last forever, and worth the investment.

What an awesome rain boot and was so excited when it came. I have a larger calf and normally order wide calf boots (I have about a 16.5 calf round) and these were perfect! The adjustable strap in the back made a difference and I could fit in them. The shaft didn't look bulky or too big. They looked perfect.

Finally a pair of Hunter's I can wear with my bigger calves! I had a pair of the original glossy ones last year but ended up getting rid of them because they were so tight in the calves that it made a weird and uncomfortable bend around the ankle. Bummer. I thought I could never wear Hunters and I do not like the look of the Huntress so I thought I was just out of luck but after reading the reviews for these I thought I'd give it a shot since Zappos is so awesome about returns. Low and behold they fit! I wear an 8.5 and I went down to an 8 and they're perfect with a thin sock. :) I'm so excited!

A stylish functional boot perfect for bare legs, leggings and jeans. All in one adjustable Hunters look great and fit no matter what you are wearing an added bonus when carrying bags the originals with the side buckle can get caught but problem solved with the back adjustable! Also, as a vegan, these boots are super cute and a real fashion alternative to leather. I have several colors! Thanks to Zappos for amazing customer service always!

Great boots. I work in beer brewing, so I'm standing on my feet all day. Rubber soles save your back! Plenty of room for tucked in jeans or bigger legs. Taller boots that sit below your knee with adjustments for a trim fit. Great barn boot or work boot.

After wanting a pair for several years, I finally sprang for them to wear during our honeymoon trip to England -- living in Los Angeles, when else would I get a chance to wear them? I typically wear a 7.5 to an 8, and have had a problems with calf width in other high boots, despite not having what I would consider particularly large calves (15"), so I ordered an 8 with the adjustable back. I may not have needed the adjustable bit, as I can tighten it all the way, but it will be good to have the room in case I need to wear them with thick socks and/or pants. The buckle also adds a little visual interest. What I hadn't expected is that they would be way too tall! At 5'2", they scraped up against my knee caps and rubbed up against the back of my thigh when I walked. Not only did it look bad, I imagine that they would be very uncomfortable after a long day of walking. I did a little research and found that the boots are actually about an inch or so shorter in the size 7s (UK 5) and smaller. Luckily, the 8s were huge on me and I could size down-- I had almost an inch of room between the tip of the boot and my big toe in the 8s! The 7s fit great, and are the perfect length! They hit about 2 inches below my knee now and look very cute. I'm very happy with my purchase, and while I haven't worn them long enough to comment on comfort and durability, they have a very cushy foot bed (I've heard they are orthopedic) and the brand is well-known for its quality. I am confident they will last. Happy Hunting!

My 'hunt' for the perfect rain boot is finally over. I live in the rainy northwest and commute a lot by foot, so rain boots are a necessity. I first ordered a pair of Hunter Original Tall in a size smaller than my normal size (per the advice I read in reviews). This, for me, was a mistake. Additionally, the fit around the calf was just a tad too tight. Out these went. Next, I ordered two shorter styles and ended up returning these as I was unsatisfied with the style. I am so glad I decided to try these next. The adjustable back is perfect, and I like the look of the gusset. These feel so much more comfortable on me than the Original Talls (and I do not have large calves). If you feel like your calves might be a tight fit for the Original falls but you like the classic tall style, I would highly recommend these.

Awesome rain boots! Got them in navy. Love the look and they feel super durable. Perfect fit for my larger calves. I expect to get many years out of them, in which case the expense will be worth it.

I love these boots! I have a bigger calf, so I have a harder time finding boots that fit. The original Hunter boots are just a bit too snug in my calf area and ultimately do not work for me. That being said, these boots have an adjustable buckle in the back so I can adjust accordingly. Also, they are quite tall. I'm 5'8" and they come to just below my knee. For me, it covers that calf area that makes some boots difficult/uncomfortable/unattractive to wear. There was no need to break them in either. They were just as comfortable the first time I put them on as they are now.
