I am 4'11 and this hit me just above the knee making them uncomfortable. Its unfortunate since I really love these boots. I am usually a 6.5 in shoes and I got these in a 6 and this fit perfect.

I wanted to love this boot. I don't, for me. I have larger calves (16"). Size 8 feet. The boots fit over my calves but sagged and dipped in unattractive places. Hunter is designed for you if you don't mind a sag here and there. Otherwise, Hunter looks great on thin legs. I didn't care for what they looked like on me. 5'6"/160#/16" calves/ big boobs.

VERY VERY LARGE FITTING. ONE WOULD REQUIRE ORTHO INSERTS PLUS HEAVY KNEE HIGH SOCKS TO FILL THESE BOOTS. NOT GOOD FOR LONG WALKING.

I've always wanted a pair of Hunter boots, but I do have wide calves (17"). From the reviews from other wide calf women, I thought maybe these boots would finally work for me. Unfortunately, even with the buckle completely undone, the top of the boot was skin tight and the rest of the boot, especially at the ankle, just scrunched up and was extremely uncomfortable. I want to love them and wish they worked, but it just isn't wide enough and still has that awkward rain boot "scrunch".

Finally able to wear rain boots that are also stylish but accommodating to my larger calves (15.5" at largest part) but unfortunately don't work for driving, my foot is so restricted on the pedal and during a storm or just rainy weather its scary not having much pedal control. If they weren't also a HUGE pain to take off I'd just put them on and take them off when I get in the car. But if you're ready for a struggle taking them off and don't need to drive with them, then they are very cute.

I wanted these boots to work but they did not. I am 5'4" with about 16½" calves. Even with the adjustable strap, the boots did not fit. It was a strange fit for me because I loosened the strap the most it would go and pulled the boots up and they did not fit. There was a sizeable gap between the back of my leg and the flap on the back that is adjustable. Also, I felt like if they had fit, they were too tall on me. I would say that these are best suited for someone who finds the original boot too tight for jeans and needs slightly more give. These may not be the best choice for someone with truly thicker calves, especially if you are shorter in stature. I will probably try the Huntress and see if they work for me. Other than the fit, these seem like heavy duty, good quality boots that will stand the test of time.

I have the Hunter Huntress boots in Red Gloss and love them! I have bigger calves, but didn't think they were huge. I wanted some black matte boots that would always match what I'm wearing. After reading all of the reviews here, I decided these would be perfect. But...while they were big enough for my calves at the top, they were too small at the bottom of my calves. Also, I typically wear a 8.5, and got a 8 in my Huntress and they were a perfect fit! I got an 8 in the adjustable back as well and they were too tight on my feet. I almost panicked as soon I went to take them off. I have exchanged these for another pair of the Huntress in black matte. If you have big calves, Huntress is the way to go!

Returning these. The Kamik Jennifer is more comfortable and has a more trim look through the ankle. I have wanted Hunter boots for years because of how cute they look in fashion pictures. Well, that dream is going to die. I use these more for actual water like canoeing and gardening in the mud and I had to pick comfort over fashion. And for a 3rd the price.

Love the boots for the snow but they are kind of hard to walk in. They are really heavy. I read that if you are an 8.5 you should get an 8. That's a lie, you have to get a 9 or else they will not fit you.

I am giving up on hunter boots. I have worn them for years, but the quality of the boot is just not what it used to be. Very flimsy... but extremely expensive. I won't hesitate to spend the money for a quality item, which hunter used to be, but they have changed. I will be looking at other brands for my mud/rain boots!

I am now on my third pair of these boots. First pair was GREAT - wore them until the heel was gone. Second pair failed after just a little over one year (with same usage), that is, way too soon for boots made by the Queen's bootmaker. Don't know what has happened to Hunter's quality, but don't count on a long usable life. However, I will say that Zappos was GREAT. They were immediately responsive to my complaint about product quality even though I was past the one year return policy. So I have another pair of these boots and we'll see how long they last. Even when the shoes disappoint, Zappos does not.

Maybe its my fault for purchasing them as winter boots but these boots are no good for the snow/ice. I fell right on my back due to slipping with these boots. They also do not keep feet warm even with the use of there willie socks. Recently if noticed water coming into them. Sadly I will no longer be using them

I love the boots ... have wanted them for a long time. I finally bought them. After a few months of wearing them periodically .. my left back of foot has become bruised by the way they rub up on my bone. It's not a blister .. more of a pain. I tend to not wear them now because of this pain when I have them on.. disappointed.

First: the color in this photo is a little deceiving. I was expecting more of a grey-green color, and these were definitely mossy. I know that's what the color description says, but nonetheless the picture is slightly misleading. Second: I bought my first pair of hunters last year, and I got the short gloss in black. They've been great! So I thought, these probably will be as well. Wrong! Not only were these boots way too tall on my 5'4 frame, but the part on the back where you can adjust the boot for your calves was every bit of awkward and sticking out. Sadly, I will be returning these. The color scheme was underwhelming and the calf adjuster was just too weird looking and felt too loose, even after adjustment. Too bad because these boots look great online!

The arch opening was too narrow to be comfortable, even with lightweight socks. I am returning the books.

I bought it for gardening and really rainy days. They are More ugly in person. The back part of the boots rubbed against my ankle and back part of my leg. Size 7 was too tight. Size 8 was way too big. I’m a size 8 in regular shoes and size 8.5 in boots and trainers. My calves are 15 “ and not muscular at all. there is Plenty of calf space even when tucking in my exercise straight leg pants.

Boot was NOT adjustable!

SO disappointed in these boots. I have wider calves so I was excited about these boots. The calf part fit perfectly. The ankles in this boot were so tight that I almost couldn't get them off my feet. And I don't even have big ankles! Never had a problem like this with any shoe or boot before! Compared to the regular style where they adjust on the side, I felt like this boot ran half a size small. I would order half a size to one full size up if you decide to get this boot. Zappos customer service is always great, but unfortunately this one is going back.

had to return , mine were defective !!!!

I bought the almost identical pair (the Hunter Original but without the back adjustable) in 2011 and loved them. However, this pair in the same size, did not fit at all. I could not squeeze my foot in and when I compared it to my old pair, there was a noticeable difference in size. At this price I would expect these to fit.

I loved these boots at first--but after a little over a year (maybe wearing a dozen times) the buckle has torn off the back. I was expecting to get more life out of pricey pair of rain boots. Bummer. Neither Zappos nor Hunter will replace/repair and I can't find a cobbler with the right part. Maybe a side buckle would be better?
