Third time's a charm with these boots. I have "athletic" calves, and neither the Hunter Original nor the Huntress worked. The Original was tight with no room to spare for jeans/leggings. The Huntress fit my calves, but are an inch or so shorter than the Originals and weren't flattering. Enter the Hunter Original Adjustable! They are perfect...hit my calves at a good height and fit with room to spare even with jeans. For reference, I'm 5'5", 16" calves. I normally wear a size 8 shoe; got these in a 7. (So, yeah, definitely size down.) And, of course, can't say enough about Zappos excellent customer service. I order from them a lot (probably too much) and every transaction is perfect. Even returns are a breeze. Thanks. Zappos!

I ordered these for a spring trip to London. They were super cute and comfy! I walked about nine miles in them in one day with no discomfort.

LOVE THESE BOOTS! I'm a consistent 7.5 and I'm glad I listened to the reviews and ordered the whole size down. I have plenty of room, heavy socks and all. Very comfy and warm for running errands or bashing around the garden when the weather is wet.

I have been on the prowl for hunter green Hunter boots for a little over a year now, but was patient enough to wait to get them as a gift for Christmas. I have a large/athletic calf (15 inches) and I knew I wouldn't fit in the Original Hunter boots so my mother got me the Huntress style. The Huntress are about 1 inch shorter than the Original and the ankle is very wide. I didn't like the way the Huntress looked on me (the ankle made them look bulky and not very cute) so I exchanged them for the Original Back Adjustable. Definitely follow everyone's advice to order down if you are in between sizes. I am only going to give these four stars because there is very little breathing room in the calf, even though they are supposed to be adjustable. But I can still wear them with leggings and they are incredibly cute. They work great in the snow and rain, keeping my feet and legs dry and I haven't had any problem with the traction. If you are a wider called lady like myself, I definitely suggest getting this style over the Huntress. Also, Zappos customer service was incredible with the exchange! They were able to help me return my gift and get my new pair in a matter of a couple days! Thanks Zappos.

Great boot not only for rain, but if you get the socks great for snow. I wore in Vail all week, much easier to get on and off than to tie up snow boots.

I ordered both 7 and 8 because I wear 7 1/2. Definitely follow the advice to size down. I had sufficient room whether wearing jeans or leggings and with/without the Hunter fleece socks. I tried the original tall Hunter boots on in a department store. They were almost impossible for me to remove, so if you don't have Kate Middleton calves, the back adjustable Hunters are the way to go.

Love at first sight. These boots have everything I was looking for. Not sure how the original Hunter would fit since the last pair of boots (not Hunter) I got barely fit my calves. The price was a little high for me but I caved in. And I'm so glad I did! These boots are so great.

I absolutely love my new Hunter rain boots! I have larger calfs and am happy to have the extendable tab in back, rather than the side. The extra room the tab allows will make inserts possible for winter, too!

I bought these for my 32 year old daughter. She loves them. They look great but more importantly they keep her feet dry. They are not insulated so they are not, in my opinion, made to keep your feet warm in the dead of winter. The inserts made for these are cute.

I love the adjustable back on this Hunter boot. The extra room, even on a slender calf, eliminates any feeling of constriction. I wore them today during a mild snowfall, and was thankful for their waterproof character!

Great product. Great customer service. We ordered a pair of these boots not realizing that you should go down a half size. After receiving them, and they were a bit big, called customer service. New pair was shipped out and received in two days. We compared the two sizes and prepaid mailing label made it easy to return the larger pair. Hands down easier than going to a mall to exchange.

Very comfortable and stylish! I bought these for a recent snow trip and they worked out perfectly! The adjustable back is great for women with bigger calves!

I love these boots! I normally wear an 8.5 and I ordered these in a 9 and they are great. I will say they are very tall boots if you are on the shorter side as I am, they come up to my knee. But I love them anyway.

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas, and they were a little SNUG - so we shipped back for a size larger. I first can't tell you what a wonderful experience I had with the returning of this product! I have never written a review before - but I couldn't pass this up....returning process is spectacular! My 17 year old daughter has been asking for these boots for years. We finally purchased them and I wish I had done it sooner. The quality is terrific and the fit is perfect!

These are the most perfect boots! They are so comfortable, fit just right, and are cute, too! I wear them even in the winter with some nice Hunter boot socks.

Received the boots about two days later very quick shipping. Got a size down because they run big. Love them!

These run true to size. I am typically between a size 7 and a size 8, though I sometimes go with a little larger size when purchasing boots as I know I may need the extra room for socks and such. I wore a size 7 for these particular boots. I still had plenty of room.
