I am 5' 6" tall and weigh about 160lbs. I am an athlete and have big calves. I originally ordered the Huntress boot. The boot was too short. It hit me mid calf. I have long legs. I then ordered the originals. The height was good but the calf was too tight. My calves are 15 1/2" around. I finally ordered the adjustable back. The adjustable backs fit me perfect. I usually wear an 8.5-9. The 8 fits me perfect with room for a thicker sock too. Love these boots. Stylish and practical for snow and slush and rain. Zappos customer service is unbelievable.

I love these boots! Also was looking for a wider calf rain boot. These are a perfect fit! Got my first pair in the mail and the buckle was broken. Called and a new pair was delivered to my door the next day. I love Zappos, they are so incredible with customer service.

I bought these boots for my daughter for Christmas. She wears an 8.5 and ordered an 8. We sent those back and got the 9 for a much better fit. She's had the chance to wear them across her college campus in the rain and loves them. This weekend she'll get to wear them in some Georgia snow!

Love them. They run a bit bit but I already knew that tidbit of information. The boots are exactly what I was looking for.

I am 5'3, and I wear a 7.5 shoe size; I bought the 8 in this style and the 7 in the huntress so I could get a good idea as to whether my calves were too wide or whether I needed the smaller or larger foot sized; I was a little bummed neither worked out. I ended up needing a 7 in the classic rain boot. The adjustable strap is a little annoying because it sort of just hangs there; but it does allow for easy on and off. Most people don't realize that these boots are made to seal out the water; so it can be a bit of a struggle to get them on and off. Overall; the boots look great, and fit great; I feel like I still have extra room in the boot, but it's nothing that bothers me; only exciting me for some of those boot socks! The matte black is a very good choice on these; they look very clean, and make a nice statement. I love these boots; I've received compliments every time I have worn them

These are the best! They run true to size, are way more comfortable than you would expect rain boots to be, and so cute! I originally ordered the black but traded in for the navy. As always, Zappos exchanged them super fast and had the new pair to me the next day. Even with the adjustable back on these, the Hunter boot socks still fit around the tops (just not perfectly on the back because of the buckle).

These boots are awesome! I love the look of Hunter boots with skinny jeans and a cozy sweater. The first style I tried didn't have the adjustable back and were too tight. These boots are great for us ladies that have larger calves.

I absolutely LOVE MY BOOTS! They indeed run a little big. I am normally a 9 1/2 10. And a size 9 worked perfectly. Once you put on your socks you should be good to go. The adjustable buckle makes them so cute and stylish. The rubber is nicely made and they are quite heavy buy bearable. If you are short you may want to consider a kid size boot. These are quite tall. I'm 5'9 so they work perfect.

I love these boots as much as I love Zappos! I placed my order on Thursday and my boots were here on Friday! That is the fastest that I have ever gotten a package, and it was free! I am glad that I did, too. I live in the Pacific Northwest and we have been getting slammed by rain lately, currently on week three of straight downpour and these boots have been so good to me! I have been wearing them for two weeks straight now and they are absolutely amazing. They are comfortable and light which is so important to me because I not only wear these stylishly but they double actual rain boots for me. I have worn them to lunch and got so many compliments and I have worn them to go fishing on the river and they actually did their job and looked good doing it! I can totally see why they sell that liner sock, my feet feel the cold when I step into a cold puddle of water, so if you are trying to make them more like Ugg rain boots I would recommend getting the liner sock. I am typically an 8½-9 but I read the reviews saying they ran big, I ordered an 8 and they are perfect! Even with thick socks on!

I'm 5'2", about 120 lbs and wear 6.5 shoes. I was hesitant about buying these boots thinking that they could be too long for me but they fit wonderfully and the adjustable feature is awesome so it allows me to make the boots a little more narrow on the top.

I regularly read customer reviews so I hope this helps. I ordered two pairs of Hunter boots for my daughters in law. They both went to a store to try them on prior to me ordering them. Both needed a size smaller than they normally wear. Both liked the back adjustable better than the side buckle. They said it gave them more room for tucking in pants and wearing the Hunter socks with them. Zappos is phenomenal as usual with their delivery. I got them in one day. I am very pleased with my purchase.

These are very roomy. I do not have large calves but I still love how roomy the shaft is! I look forward to wearing thick, warm socks with them. I can wear jeans and thick socks in these. I wear a 10 and they fit perfectly. I would not size down because it might feel too tight. I totally recommend these!

These boots are great for rainy days. They keep your feet dry and if you add the fleece inserts they make a great winter boot also. I usually wear a nine in other brands of this style but had to go with a ten in the Hunter brand. The adjustable buckle stay in place and doesn't slip. I wish there were more arch support in these boots. I haven't worn them all day yet so not sure how my feet are going to feel. I have very high arches in my feet so this can be an issue when shopping for shoes. I ordered the navy and it goes with everything.

As a size 11, I was pleased to read that reviewers thought the Hunter ran large. I had tried a similar, less expensive boot but found it too small. Alas, thought she, when I had a similar reaction to this boot. It seemed to rub against my heel and feel too confining. But wait dear reader. A little breaking in was in order They do feel comfortable now. I bought these not as a fashion item but as a work boot. And so far they have held up well to wading (no leaks) and general mucking about. I do recommend it. Oh, and I ordered the adjustable back to be sure I could step into them rather than pull them on. This works and may have been fine with the non-adjustable.

I ordered my usual size and they fit great with socks - they are roomy - by no means tight, but I would not want them any shorter in length. I wore them on a rainy day and kept them on for the whole work day (at a school) and they were fantastic. I looked long and hard and read tons of reviews before this purchase - I highly recommend them!

FINALLY! A boot the fits my calves. I have tried on at least a half dozen cute,inexpensive rain boots and sadly all were returned. These fit wonderfully and get the job done. Like others reviewers, I think you could probably order a size down if you are not wanting to wear thicker socks with the boots. I wear a 9 ordered a 9 and since I plan on wearing thicker socks, I will have plenty of room. Thank you Zappos for being so patience and letting me swap out ALL the boots.

Here's my "Plus Size/Short Girl" review of the Back Adjustable Boots. I have large calves, ankles and legs. My calves are about 17.5" to 18" without pants. I am 5'4 with short legs. I typically wear a size 10 shoe but do own some 9.5s. I ordered this boot in a 9 & 10 & decided to keep the 9. Even with a super thick sock on I have plenty of foot room. The 10s where way too large in the foot & because they were slightly larger throughout the ankle/leg area than the 9s it made the rubber fold in and put painful pressure on my heel. I have no problem wearing jeans or leggings with my boots. They are snug through the lower calf but not tight. I have more than enough upper calf room and don't need to let the adjustable part out very much. Someone with much larger calves would still have extra room. Being 5'4 I was worried they may be too tall but they aren't. They hit about 1-1.5" below my knees. Perfect height in my opinion. I absolutely love these boots!

Best boots ever! These are so comfortable! I have been wanting these boots for awhile and my sweet mother-in-law bought them for me out of the blue on day! Yay! Love the back adjustment - i have skinny legs, but the adjustment also allows for thinker or thinner pants when needed-worth the extra money to have this option.

I was worried this color would be too light and that the cafe width might not be roomy enough but once I laid eyes on them I realized they were perfect! The color goes with everything!

Nice comfortable boot to wear in the rainy/cold weather. With the adjustable calf, it's a great fit! I would suggest going up a half size to accommodate socks or the Hunter liners.
