I really wanted this to work but alas my calves were too big even for these adjustable back hunter boots.

I got Hunter Original Back adjustable in size 8, I am usually size 7.5-8. And I'm 5'4, my calves measure 15.5. I was back and forward between size 7 and 8 so I order both and try them on. I found size 7 is a bit snug I could only wear it with light sock and they are very tight on my calf but the height hit just right under my knee. Then I try on size 8, they are a lot of room on the calves, feel a bit half size bigger than normal shoe but I could wear them with jeans, thicker socks and my feet feel more comfortable but for the height is slightly hit my knee probably an inch below my knee cap. So I decided to go with size 8 just because I could wear it in the winter time too. I recommend order a size up.

I have wide calves and Theses boots fit the bill. I wear a size 11 and I sized down to a 10. I did not give it 5 stars because I have not used them yet, but I like the look and fit.

I have wanted a pair of tall Hunter boots for literally over two years. I have wide calves and wide feet which makes it pretty difficult for me to fit any boots. I normally wear a size 8.5 wide. After reading reviews for these boots I decided to get an 8 because most people said they run large. They fit great in the foot. My wide foot fits well and I can fit thin socks easily into them. I probably couldn't fit the thick liners in there but I'm fine with that. The only reason I didn't give these boots five stars is because the profile looks a little strange on me. From the heel up it goes up and then in and then out again at the largest part of my calf. I do realize since they are molded in one shape it is hard to fit everyone perfectly. Overall I am pleased and think I will keep them. Love that I got them so quickly and on sale! Thanks Zappos!

I've spent the last two rainy seasons trying to find a sturdy rain boot that will fit my calves. My prior rainboot was a Bogg boot that is no longer available...really disappointed because Boggs have such great arch support. After several attempts trying to find a suitable rainboot, I settled on the Hunter Original tall adjustable. They fit my calves, with room to spare! The Hunter boot does not offer the support I need, but at this point, beggars can't be choosers! The boots are cute and stylish, and they are tall. I am 5'8" and they are nearly to my knees. Overall, I am happy with my purchase but I do feel these boots are wayyyyy overpriced for the quality. Definitely paying for the name. I ordered my usual shoe size and they fit fine. I have somewhat wide feet and didn't have a problem there, either.

FINALLY! Finally - a nice looking rain boot for women with larger calves. Thank you, Hunter, for finally making this boot. These are beautiful and fit very well. I am usually a 7W. 7WW if it's available just for extra comfort. My calf is 16 3/4" with regular jeans on and I'm 5'3". Just thought I'd provide some sizing info to better understand the fit. While these aren't perfect, they are as close as I've ever come to a nice looking rain boot that fits my calf well but also doesn't look weird at the ankle. I have perfectly normal sized ankles, just larger calves. This boots hit me just below the knee cap and I find the gusset just a tad high. Would probably be perfect on someone a little taller. Being also a wide foot (bunion) the rubber is soft enough to give so that it doesn't feel too tight. Just tight enough that I don't feel like I'm either swimming in these or suffocating. I should say that I did buy an insert for these as the arch support is minimal so that likely takes up some of the space. Without an insert, they are loose so wear a thick sock if you aren't using an insert. If I could make any changes, it would be that the gusset began in a lower part of the calf and that there were 2 buckles. The lower part of the gusset bulges out if you tighten the buckle at the top and looks a little funny so I just leave it with some room. These are very well worth the price. Bring on the NY fall!

I love these boots. So stylish. However, they are not easy to get off. Is there a trick to this? I live alone and I had to fold down the top and sit down and almost "peel them off." I think a larger size would be too big. Just wondering if there is something that makes the removal of the boot a bit easier. The socks have not yet arrived, so I tried them barefoot, and perhaps that was the problem. I was so anxious to try them out!

Let me start by saying that this boot is so beautiful.I am 5'4 and have wide calfs about 16.5 circumference and this boot fits on to my leg and hit underneath my knee. i wish the boot had a little bit more room in the leg area because its a perfect fit and i also have to struggle to get the boot off.

My first rain-boots, I have larger calf's and these fit GREAT! They look cute too, the rubber is very soft. I live in the city, and my walk to work is almost a mile, no problem in these boots. I'm a 9 1/2 with all my shoes, the 9 fits great. I'm 5'9', 160lbs, sturdy, not over weight. The support is not great, but its a rain boot. Im guessing id get an insert if I started wearing these as much as I wear my Uggs or Vans. For the price, I hope to have these boots for a long time.

I just received my order and am trying to decide if I want to keep these. I wanted something I could use for rainy days but also to walk my dog in the snow (yes, I know these are not snow boots - but I can get thicker socks for a quick 30 minute walk). I love that they adjust to fit what I am wearing, but the buckle is hard to use. My calves are 15" so I knew the original Hunter boot wouldn't work. These fit perfectly around my calves. The boots themselves are difficult to take off. Does take me a few minutes to take them off. The rubber is great - solid material. If I return them I will update my review.

I purchased the (Women's) Hunter Original Back Adjustable-style boot, in the colors of Umber/Iron Oxide, and in a USA size, 11. I think they are a good boot, and I like the size and the color. However, when I tried to pull them on,and, consequently, as I pulled them off, as well, I experienced difficulty and resistance, in the area that hits the top of the foot, where it meets the front of the ankle. Now, while one might want a little resistance, in order that the boot would stay on, well, I would suspect that one would not want to have to wrestle, to get them on and off. At least, not myself. So, sadly, these are probably going back. It might be possible, that I would like the boot, more, If it were a bit shorter, in height. That would probably make it easier, for a person with a hip replacement, to pull on and off. It also might weigh Less. This full sized, up to the Knee, (in height) boot, is fairly heavy. I did not Know - but I sure do now! Live, and learn! As per usual, Zappos company, personnel, and customer service, are all top notch.

Love how classic Hunter boots are. I was torn between the adjustable back and the classic tall. I have the classic talk in purple but wanted something a little more versatile. However, the classic tall can only be worn with tights or leggings to be comfortable so I went with adjustable back in case I wanted to wear thick boot cuffs or jeans. I prefer the look of the classic but these are a lot more comfortable. The other reviews are accurate that the ankle area is more flimsy/spacious than the classic tall. I would recommend if you're looking for versatility. I'm also normally a size 8 and I went with size 7 and it fits. They run large.

The boots were difficult to get on because the ankle was too narrow. Even with help, the narrowness of the ankle made them almost impossible to get off. They are going back.

These felt a half size small and tight through the calf, particularly if one wants to wear with a pair of jeans. On top of this, there are no kicks on the back, so removal is difficult.

The back adjustment was not easy to use. I purchased these because I thought they’d be stylish, but not so much. I went with more practical boots.

I absolutely love the look of these boots, only I’m sadly returning them. The calf fit well enough, but because of the wider calf it scrunched slightly at the ankle and didn’t give that sleek look I wanted. As much as I love these boots, they’re heading back.

I have slightly wider calves and thought the adjustable back would be good. The original tall is too snug and the tall wide is only wide around the ankle, not calves. Well, this version is wide but like wide all over. The foot fit fine but the rest of the boot just looked sloppy, baggy. Another strike out.

The area that is let out for adjustment is above the area where the bulk of my calf is, where the muscular part is. So it was too big just below the knee, and too small around my calf where I actually needed the width. However, I exchanged this pair for the Hunter Original Wide rain boots and they fit great.

I love Hunter but these boots were way too big in leg and scrunched up. Material is not the same as a pair I have from many years ago. Returning!!!

After five months of use, these boots have cracked and the surface is peeling. I walk in the water up to my knees, and now the boots are no longer water-tight. That is 160 bucks before taxes. I want a refund. These are made in China now, so.....keep that in mind when buying. Contacted Zappos and they sent me a return label to ship back the defective boots Once they get the defects back, they will refund the original purchase price to my credit card (takes 2-10 business days). These boots are kind of overrated in my opinion. While they kept the water out when I went wading, they are not meant for long periods of walking. They also are not that 'glamorous', kind of pedestrian looking, like a pair of Crocs.

Perfect for any condition, expensive but they are hunter boots....

It’s ok but not very stylish

I really wanted these to work but sadly they went back. I have larger calves but they’re not that big, I could get them up in a size 9 but they were oddly uncomfortable under the calf area before the ankle. I wish they had my size in the color I want in a 10, I totally would have tried the next size up and hoped for the best.
