I love these boots.......but......they are so tall on my leg. The boot came all the way to my knee and I have short legs. I wish this brand (Hunter) would make this style boot about 2 inches shorter!!!!!! I most definitely would have kept them. If they come out with this style and adjust the height a little I most definitely will buy them.

I loved the boot! I did return the boot because it was so tall. I am 5' 2" and have a shorter length between my ankle and knee. The boot reached the right below my knee cap........which is not comfortable on me. I wish they made the boot 1"to 2" shorter .

I normally were 8 or 81/2 due to me having fat feet so I trusted a size guide On amazon and it told me to get a 9 and I did... fits great, I do have a lil space which is perfect because I don’t want my shoes to be tight on my feet and if it snows I can where thick socks...

Overall, I loved the look of these Hunter boots, but they are too wide in the foot area for me. I have wide/athletic calves with narrow feet; after reading a ton of reviews, I went with the “Original-Adjustable” style for tall boots because I knew the “Refined” style would never fit my calves. Although, they fit my calves they are too wide in the foot and ankle area (even with thick Hunter socks), sadly I’m forced to return them. I have the “Refined” short boots and they fit my foot/ankle great AND Hunter just introduced a “Refined- Adjustable” style ????. I’m ordering them now in hopes they are the answer to my narrow feet/wide calves problem. Fingers crossed!

I'm afraid I'm having to return these boots. I am 5.5 tall but the 16 inch shaft of these boots is too tall and they dig into the back of my knees when I walk and particularly when I go up/down stairs. I had previously ordered the Hunter Original Refined Gloss, these have a 16.5 inch shaft. I was hoping that these Hunter Original Back Adjustable Gloss being a half inch shorter would fit me better but they are still too tall. The foot size of this boot is both larger and wider than the Hunter Original Refined, you may want to consider sizing down. I have been hoping to buy Hunter boots for almost three years, I love the way they look. I'm going to try one more time and order Hunter Original Tall BT Refin as I see these look about an inch shorter at the back of the knee. Fingers crossed these ones work for me.

I really like the look of Hunter rain boots, but I need a wide calf. I thought I would give these a try, but they still aren't wide enough. They are fine at the top, but too narrow in the middle just below where the back gusset starts. Maybe I have weird calves? Dunno, but back they go.

I have an average calf size, don't usually have to buy wide, but the basic Hunter boot was just too tight to be able to tuck pants in and such, so these came to the rescue. They are super comfortable, can walk for miles in them, and keep my feet dry despite our El Nino rain records. That being said, they are HEAVY, really heavy. If the Hunter Tourist came in this expandable calf, I would opt for them instead. As it is, after shopping for months, these are the best I have found on the market.

I did a lot of looking around when it came to getting these boots. I looked at many different brands of the higher-end Wellie category. I also looked at the various options and boot styles offered by Hunter and settled on the gloss Original Adjustable boot. I am glad I chose the adjustable boot. I like wearing them with skinny jeans and thick leggings and not just on rainy days. Although I would consider myself an "athletic" calf I find that wide calf boots are usually too wide on me but have issues with "normal" boot shafts being too tight. These fit the bill. I wear them nearly fully tightened down on the adjustable closure but I have the ability to make them bigger if need be. The only reason I gave them a four out of five stars overall is that I personally find them very difficult to get off by myself. I usually require help from my husband or daughter to pull them off my legs because they are tall boots and are snug. Beyond that, they are worth every penny.

I bought the boots with the adjustable back because I have wide calves and it's great! The only problem is that the strap is hard to fix into the metal latch. Otherwise, awesome look and comfort!

Super stylish. Really tall, but I'm 5'10" so they look great. I ordered a size 9 and I have to wear my smart wool socks so they don't rub a blister because they feel big.

These boots are great. Hunter does run narrow in the calf and large in the foot. The adjustable calf made these totally worth the additional price and I went down a size to get the best fit (from 8 to 7). They are pretty tall which I like for style and the glossy finish stands out. Happy with my Hunters.

These are great! Keep in mind they are very tall. I am 5'4" and they hit right below my knee. Occasionally they are uncomfortable when you are sitting down in the crook of your knew, but I really like how they look so I let it slide. I have large calves so I could only fit into the Huntress before these. These are much slimmer and lower profile so I think they look better. Plenty of room in the calf with the adjustable strap.

I wore the boots for the first time this week and they were pretty comfortable. Difficult to cross my leg with the latch in the back and my socks were wet when I took them off. I wore a warm sock but not the sock warmers that I see some other people wear.

I love these rain boots. I had/have a few different pairs. I live on a farm so having good rainboots in important. Also these boots are great for doing chores in the barn to running errands on a rainy day. They fit really well too. I have a narrow foot and they seem to hug it better than other rain boots that just flop around. I like that they are double sealed on the seams. I bought two pairs of Sperry topsider rainboots. In both cases the seam cracked and water came in...not a fun time when it's muddy barn water. But these boots are very durable and have been wonderful. The only problem I have is that in cold snowy days they are not warm. Even with double socks and a liner my feet freeze in a few minutes. Overall I love these boots and I am looking to buy another pair.

These are cute! I want to return them - not sure if I can, however. I have super high arches and these were unbearable after wearing them. I kept trying to get more space around the top of my feet, but couldn't without actually taking them off. I also purchased the shearling insert and fleece socks - it's cold right now - and I've heard that these will not do anything for warmth. I can't wear either the shearling or fleece with the shoes because they are so, so tight!

I wanted these to work so badly. The fit perfectly fine (with room) at the top of my leg but they are just too tight around the middle of my calf and it makes them sit funny. Disappointed.

I hated spending this much on rain boots, but they did the job. I have crazy huge calves and they were the only boot that even came close to fitting and looked half-way cute. They still fit snug in the calf, so I think the 16" is false, but at least they will stay up. They're fairly comfy but not as comfy as the Bogs felt in the footbed, but the calf width is what sold them for me. If your calves are normal size, try the Bogs Summit, they're cute and I would say more comfortable for lots of walking.

Liked the size and the fit. But I couldn't return these fast enough. Beware - the black gloss color smells terrible. Such poor quality. I couldn't even bear to try them on. After opening the box, my apartment smelled for hours. A very awful chemical smell that might eventually go away but not worth the (literal) headache. Going to try to non-glossy ones instead to see if I like those better but was very disappointed. Hunter's aren't the same quality they used to be.

Super cute! A true burgundy/maroon color. Only thing is they were not quite as glossy as they look in the picture.

I really, really wanted to love these boots. I wear a 10 and ordered a 10 (only slightly big in the foot, clearly enough room for socks without them being tight.) For a normal person that doesn't have big calves like I do (17") you'll have no problem, but I can't wear these with jeans tucked in like I was hoping. The reason I'm returning them however is because they were a royal pain in the booty to get OFF. It took some serious effort to get my foot back out of them. I wish Hunter made these with a zipper because if they did, they'd be utterly perfect. They were a bit big in the ankle, but that wouldn't have stopped me if they were easier to get on/off.

I loved the look of the boot, very comfortable when on but really difficult to get on and off. I ordered a size 8 normally I am an 8.5 and the 8 fit great.

I love these boots! I'm tall (5'9") and have muscular calves and sturdy ankles. I had initially purchased the original Hunter boots but they didn't fit around my calves. I ordered the size 10 adjustable boot. The adjustable style definitely fits but with a small exception: it bags a bit around the ankle. If you look at the boot in profile, you'll see that the shaft of the boot starts to expand out and, right at the point where extra material is added for the adjustable part, it dips back in before it flares back out. That little bit of "dip" hits my calf just as it begins to get wider so, in that area - right below the adjustable part, is where it's tighter and causes bagginess. This is accentuated when wearing the sock inserts or thicker material jeans. It is better if wearing tights, skinny jeans, or yoga pants. It's not enough to make me return them, but it definitely changes the sleek appearance of the boot.

Back adjustment buckle hard to use. I thought these would be more stylish, but they are too thick through the ankle. Liked the gloss. Going with a more practical boot I can wear for outdoor activities and trying an ankle rain boot for other times.
