Love Mephisto. The Yael is tops for comfort. Great walking shoe and looks good too. Bought one pair and now ordered in another color.

This is a beautiful shoe, however I feel I require a shoe with more support.

Comfortable shoe. I tried a size longer than my usual size but it is too long and my usual size is sold out. Bummer,

I have narrow flat feet with weak ankles so have a hard time finding comfortable stylish shoes. Usually I end up returning the shoes I buy because they're too wide, flimsy or poorly made. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised that Mephisto Yael fit me so well, that is after I replaced their insoles with custom orthotics. They're not quite as comfortable as sneakers but let's face it, sneakers don't go over well at business events. I got the atomic silver which is funky and fun while serving as a neutral staple in my shoe wardrobe. I hesitated to spend this much on shoes but feel Mephisto is worth it.

I spent months shopping for a pair of shoes for my European vacation. I was searching for something that would take me from a long day on cobblestone city streets to hiking along the Cinque Terre and then on to dinner and a concert. I finally decided that no such shoe exists and I settled for these Mephistos which will fulfill the first two functions (I'll take my black lace Tom's for evenings out). Whenever I read a review that claims the shoes were perfectly comfortable straight out of the box I think "Well lucky them. They must have better feet than me". I have bunions and the occasional battle with ingrown toenails. But guess what?! These were really comfortable right out of the box! I wore them around the house for a few hours and took them for a trip to town the next day. I normally wear 9 1/2-10 but take a 10 (40) in the Mephistos Helen which I've been wearing for about 18 years. I bought the 40 and the fit is perfect. The toe box is roomy. The shoe has a sporty look but is sleeker than your typical sports shoe. My 13 year old granddaughter even liked them and she hates everything. They may not be suited for the symphony but with black tights and skirt they're be just fine for dinner.

Am returning. Shoe is a half size too short. Would have ordered a size 9.5, but Zappos doesn't have in stock. I love Zappos next day service and return policy. I thought a size 9 might fit, but my big toe rubs against the shoe tip. This is an attractive shoe. The shoe bed felt cushy and comfortable. The heel of the shoe is shaped to contain a narrow heel comfortably without slipping.

Got these for a trip where we would be walking lots in London. They are very comfortable and great right out of the box. Not super "stylish" but not ugly either, and dark enough to be subtle. The comfort more than makes up for it! The mottled look is very subtle. They didn't look clunky at all on my feet but looked slim. My feet were very happy after searching through many pairs to find the right walking shoe. (thanks, Zappos!)

I broke the rule and packed my new, never worn Mephisto Yaels. I wore them everyday in Europe and absolutely loved them. My feet did not need a break in period. My paws suffer with bunions and shoes often bring on pain. These shoes provided a comfortable cushioned footbed and even the tongue is padded! They are worth every penny and then some! They are simply marvelous, do your feet a favor and treat them with Mephistos!

These are blissful to wear. I have narrow heels, but normal width at toe. These give great arch support, accommodate narrow heels, and I live this color. It's a dark neutral that looks stylish with any color or outfit. Pricey, but worth it.

I was looking for an alternative to running shoes for long days of "fun on your feet" - like going to The Strip in Vegas. These are perfect! Classy, cool, and in this slightly iridescent blue colour, they have extra pizazz! Great fit and comfort.

the shoes are in everyway what I would want except the toe box is cut too narrow. I had to return them for that reason

A good fit for my old feet. But the color is not taupe. It is grey. Mephisto should not misrepresent the color. I'm keeping them because they feel so good on my feet and I don't see any other color that I would like. I just wish these shoe manufacturers would stop putting white soles on colored shoes. Surprisingly, they do have very good arch support for my high arches. The inner sole is removable and I can insert my orthotic inner soles.

Beautiful shoe but not wide enough.

I liked the shoe a lot, especially the denim color....but the heel slipped and back of foot going up and down is just not OK. It's supportive and cute, does run narrow, which is a good thing.

The left shoe was fine. The right shoe may have been slightly defective; it felt tight in the front, across the toes. When I felt inside, it seemed the ridge at the bottom of the tongue was larger/longer than in the right shoe and not quite consistent either with the left shoe or with other Mephistos of similar but not identical style. I do think size 8 was the correct choice, though. Too bad this pair didn't work out: it was my third attempt to get a replacement pair of black Mephistos for city walking and everyday wear in good weather,now that Laser Perfs have been discontinued.

These shoes are not only incredibly comfortable, but also look good enough to be worn for dressier occasions. They are expensive, hoever. I wear an 8 with orthotics. I had to return these for a 7 1/2 since they run larger. Also, both sizes have a fairly wide, slippy heel. I liked them so much that I kept them and just bought heel pads.

I love the look of this shoe and tried it in two sizes. Sadly, neither fit. (It May just be me!). I have other shoes that were a perfect fit in size 37.

Own 3 pairs. Of Mephisto Yael (3 different leathers) since they are comfortable and good looking.:The silver looked great when new, got horribly dirty walking in City and can’t be cleaned , the shoelaces not very good the end piece fell off when fairly new making them look junky. Expensive shoes to be relegated to wearing only when don’t care.. The taupe a good neutral leather; color called light gray (from last year) is pearlized bone color leather .. very nice but name deceptive.

These shoes are really cute and comfortable they just slipped too much for my narrow heals so returning.

Nice soft suede but felt it would scuff easily and not be rainworthy. Good arch support, and the sole looks nice and grippy. I have narrow feet and found these fit quite well, and were comfortable around my arthritic toes, but my heel slips up and down. Regretfully returning.

I was so disappointed to have to return this Mephisto sneaker. It it so very attractive and super comfortable, but too wide in the heel for my narrow heel.

I expected the 38.5 to fit well. It was too long so I am returning the shoe. 38 was not available in this color. Shoe seemed to fun a bit narrow, which would be good for me.

The Yael is one of the best walking shoes I have found. It is very comfortable, needing no break-in time at all! This shoe runs true to size and has great support. I am the proud owner of 3 pair !!! This shoe may be expensive, but there is no price to keep my back happy!

The Mephisto Yael style sneaker/shoe in metallic leather (summer/spring) are very comfortable. The same style in black nubuck feels different in fit and not nearly as comfortable.
