This is a great pack--I was able to haul a laptop and a dozen hardback books and assorted power cables. The straps are sturdy and comfortable, even with all that weight. The quality of construction is excellent and the look and feel superb. The best pack out there for the money!

I love this backpack. At first I thought the Velcro was kind of loud but now I just think it's super convenient. People love this backpack so much, my friend saw it and went home and bought one.

It's perfect size for what I need. Big enough to fit my laptop/camera and a few other extra's without being too bulky.
Planning on using as gym bag on other days so...again not too bulky and comfortable strap.
Looks very high quality so time will tell...also read something about having lifetime warranty so you know Timbuk2's got your back.
My only worry is the element getting in when it's raining...time will tell.

I bought this backpack for my husband and it was everything he didn't know he needed. This bag has already been used for work, commuting, and traveling. At 25L storage capacity, the bag fits more stuff than you think! He has used it as his only bag for a week long trip and praised it's ability to magically fit everything he needed. We live in Amsterdam and the bag is perfect for bicycling around the city to cafe's or to meetings. Stylish enough to wear to meetings, but functional enough to handle the winter rain and snow. He says the bag could use a few more pockets, but you can't have it all. In my opinion, this bag is as close to perfection as they come.

My partner was using my high school LL Bean bag to commute to and from work every day. He often complained it bothered his back and want comfy to walk with but he liked having it b around for travel. This bag has met and exceeded his expectations for a new bag.

I bought this bag to replace a very comfortable Timbuk2 backpack that I use for a 10-mile daily bike commute. I am a professor and tend to carry books, snacks, and a change of clothes. This backpack was reasonable, is stylish, and fits more than I had anticipated. Its only shortcoming is a lack of pockets, but the way in which it is designed for some reason it always feels light and can be stored even in narrow places. It recently became too snowy for my bike commute, but I look forward to seeing how the bag holds up once I begin riding regularly with it again.

I use the bag for my work in design, and I love it. Big main compartment, sits comfortably on my back, and I really like the outer compartment where I can put my charger. Would like a couple more interior pockets, but it's not something that detracts from the product at all.

This pack has been awesome! I primarily use it for hiking and when I travel as a day pack. This is a perfect pack - small enough to be comfortable and big enough to carry basic items such as change of clothing, water bottles, lap top, etc.
I hiked through ruins, mountain trails, and jungle - in the US and internationally (Colombia, Mexico, Brazil).
To me, it is a very practical pack. It is weather proof, durable, comfortable, and dependable. This pack has exceeded my expectations.

I use this bag everyday for work and school - it fits a laptop, binder and workout clothes comfortably. The build quality is excellent and the bag is sturdy and protects my laptop well.
The only downsides I've found using it are:
1) Lack of pockets/organization mechanisms: the main pocket of the backpack is just that - a very deep pocket. You'll have to dig to find things.
2) Two Buckles: It can get annoying having to keep clipping the buckles. I've just started leaving them open though, as the velcro seems to hold everything closed nicely
Overall I'm very please with this backpack and would definitely recommend it.

I use the bag to go everyday to the office by bike, I carry a laptop and gym clothes. The bag has a perfect size and a nice look to show up in the office and strong enough to bring it to the gym every day. the size is perfect and the simplicity of the bag is great. However, I found the inside pocket too small. They should make it bigger so I could put my iPad mini inside, or more stuff when traveling.

Let me keep this short and sweet... this backpack is GREAT!
It is just right in every area: not too small/big, not too few/many pockets, laptop sleeve is just right (it stretches enough for 2 laptops if needed), etc...
My only two (nitpicky) complaints are this:
1) a second external side pocket would be preferable to the additional daisy chain webbing, this way I can easily carry two water bottles
2)I love the styling of the two buckles leading to the main compartment, but it can get rather bothersome clipping and unclipping two buckles every time you need something in the main compartment. A single clip, albeit less stylish, would be more functional.

I use this primarily for school, replacing my old leather satchel. While I carry the same stuff, I realize how efficient this bag is at distributing the weight evenly, giving the impression of a lighter load.

If you are a commuter in need of a reliable and durable backpack, then the Timbuk2 Rogue Laptop Backpack is for you. This backpack is perfect for someone who spends time traveling from home to work or home to school in need of a bag that can keep their necessities organized and protected.
Product Criteria
Evaluating the product included comfortability, protection, water resistance, space, and support. Commuting each day, or 5 days a week, involves lots of moving around so you need a bag that is comfortable and supportive on your back. Items stored inside your backpack must be protected, especially from the weather, in case you get caught walking or biking through a rain storm. A spacious bag is crucial so that you have enough room for all of your belongings.
Positive Characteristics
When you wear this backpack, the straps are very comfortable because of the mesh padding. Since the mesh padding is against your skin, you can wear the backpack without your shoulders covered, knowing that the strap will feel comfortable.
Having a bag that is waterproof is extra important because being a commuter requires either walking or biking. The Rogue backpack is heavily reliable for keeping your items protected from any sort of weather because of the water resistant fabric surrounding the entire bag.
The square shape of the backpack allows for ideal arrangement for packing and also the perfect shape to fit under your desk seat in class. The cover straps allow extra space in the main compartment for moments when you need to push extra items inside, but still being able to fasten and tighten the straps for security.
Stiff back support exists while you wear this backpack, especially if you often carry many items in your bag like your books, lunch box, laptop, and a charger.
Negative Characteristics
The interior space on the inside does not contain many pockets. Yet, this has actually been more helpful because I find myself only bringing my necessities and not lugging around extra items that I do not need.
Bottom Line
All in all, this backpack is well-designed if you are looking for an optimal backpack for travel that you can rely on to be spacious and durable.
