I am happy with this bag so far. It is really comfortable. Sometimes when I'm walking to my car after work I worry that I forgot to bring my laptop home with me - that's how light it feels in this bag. In other backpacks I have definitely felt the weight of my laptop.
I am a radio reporter so I often need to carry a good deal of equipment along with my laptop. Everything fits in this bag quite nicely - but it's rather snug. If I need to bring anything else (snacks, for example) I'd have to squeeze them in.
I do wish it had more pockets or that the front pockets were bigger. But for my purposes, this bag does the job pretty well.

I purchased the Carbon and Molasses color and the carbon is clearly tinted green, not the gray shown in the photos. I got this bag because my last timbuk2 bag was amazing but I needed something professional looking. This serves the purpose but it wasn't the color described and doesn't have the weather proofing that I love in most Timbuk2 bags.

USE:
Primary storage for my MacBook Pro 15 when traveling/commuting
PROS:
Nice placement of pockets and storage pouches.
Stylish design
CONS:
Small in size, Looks tiny on my back (male - 6 foot 3 inch)
Lots of pockets but with no room.
Zippers tend to be a little stubborn at times
Minimal to Standard Laptop Padding
All in all its a good backpack, I just really wish it was larger in size. I assumed if the backpack could hold the Macbook Pro 15 it would have a lot more storage space. Purchased with a great discount but I honestly wouldn't spend over $60 on this backpack.

I have not been able to use this bag nor was the recipient. It's simply too small. When shopping for a bag I was searching by the biggest style selection and was very sad when this arrived. Too late to purchase a new bag I gave this to the recipient and as I suspected it was too small for practical use. Their lunchbox does not fit in it with room for anything else. We will be donating it at back to school since I cannot find the packing slip for return.

I primarily use this for carrying my work laptop, a few papers and gym clothes. Took it on one trip. Having been using it about a month now, and it is absolutely filthy. Yes, I bought a lighter color, but this is not the durability that I've seen in two other Timbuk2 messenger bags I've owned. There's a reason these are cheaper. It also arrived discolored in the creases which made me wonder how long the backpack was sitting in stock.

My third Timbuk2 product and I daresay the only one that has disappointed me. I've used both the Commute messenger bag and the Showdown for years, and the cheaper material choice and quality of the lower priced Parkside definitely shows. Straps are less padded, there is no sternum strap, zippers close a bit less smoothly, etc.
That being said, this is still a great backpack with plenty of well placed pockets. My only major complaint is the laptop protection, which is pretty much nil. Moreover, the pouch isn't get elastic enough to hold a thinner device (e.g. a tablet) tightly. This results in the device really bouncing as you walk - kind of annoying/concerning.
In all honesty, I would just suck it up and spend the extra $20 for a higher end product in the Timbuk2 line up.

This bag tends to fall forward even when there are a few textbooks in it. I tend to lean my bag up against my desk at school, but this bag will not stay leaning like previous bags I have purchased.

The bag looks nice and is a good compact size, but the zippers dont work very well, when you zip them closed half the time it stays unzipped behind the zipper. For that reason I would not recommend this product. Unfortunately, I bought it on final sale so theres nothing I can do about it. Very frustrating.

Laptop sleeve isn't padded. Thin, non-waterproof fabric on the main compartments of the bag, including the bottom. Will be returning.

I really wanted to keep this backpack. It's a nice size and the design has good features (plenty of pockets). However, the zippers are flimsy and open easily after closed. It may just be that I'm used to canvas, but the fabric also felt pretty cheap as well. I would have liked to use this backpack for commuting, too bad I have to return it.
