I purchased this bag about a month ago to use as a light travel bag to and from work. I primarily carry my 15" Macbook (fits perfectly with a neo case) and a few work folders. The straps are comfortable and the back padding is breathable so my back does not get hot on my commute. This back is also perfect for taking trips to the park for lunch or any other social outings. I have to say I am overall very pleased with my purchase. This is my second Timbuk2 bag (the first being a custom messenger that is 2 years old in perfect condition) and I can say I will continue to stick with this company. Quality product, service, and stylish! You can't go wrong with this bag!

I bought this bag for my husband, who has a 20-minute walk to work. He'd never had a TB2 bag before, whereas I have been a fan for years (backpacks, messengers, and Eula handbags). He's blown away by the comfort and quality!

My wife was looking for a cool-looking backpack for work. She looked many brand name bags. But I don't think those backpack will last long. I am a big fan of Timbuk2. So I got her one for Christmas present. It turns out that she loves it. It fits her laptop and al paper for teaching.
Super functional !!!

Gave the bag as a gift and it was perfect. Looks great, very useful, and multipurpose. Great for travel and then unload and repack for a bike ride to the beach. Very comfortable!

I bought this bag to replace a Jansport bag I've had for 15 years so it was a long time until I decided to buy this specific model. Yes, I could've just gotten a new Jansport, but I've been liking the different models Timbuk2 has for selections. Since I wanted a bag that I could use for any travel mode, I picked this one. I love it. It has the right amount of pockets (more than what was available with my Jansport) and it's roomie for a lot of items.

I have my fair share of laptop bag used as someone working in the IT field. What strikes me about this laptop bag is that, the exterior looks very compact, yet it can fit all of the items I had from my previous laptop bag which is twice the size of this bag. Not only that, the rigid backbone of the bag shift the center of weight significantly that it made the whole bag with content feels much lighter. Extremely satisfied with this bag.

Love this bag! My daughter wants one. My sister wants one. My mom wants one. It is perfect as an alternative for a purse. It looks really nice too!

This serve as a extra back pack. Stylish but pratical. It served for simple outing with the family- extra diaper, snacks, couple I pod, and reading materials.

I shopped around a lot for a backpack to replace my college North Face backpack. I was looking for a functional backpack that offered a water bottle external pocket, was not leather, and that offered functionality while maintaining a sleek profile for a young adult in NYC commuting to and from grad school. I went as far as to buy and return a Tumi backpack.
The Parkside worked out perfectly. I use the main compartment for my laptop, and notebooks/papers. I still have space to throw in a light jacket or food. The secondary compartment allows me to throw in a ton of small daily items, while the two smaller pockets allow for easy storage of a wallet while on the go, and my hand sanitizer. I love the external water bottle pocket, and the fact that the backpack is not huge like most outdoor daypacks. It allows for a feminine appearance with and without formal outfits. I wear it on my 5'6" athletic frame.
I only wish there was a built in key fob and that the zippers moved with a greater fluidity. These are two minor things given that the backpack satisfies all my others needs. The flexible shoulder straps work well, also.

I needed a backpack for grad school because the totes I was using aggravated my back, hips and shoulder. I wanted something comfortable, weather-resistant and durable, and after doing research came upon timbuk2. Browsing the backpacks, I decided on the parkside because it's reasonably priced but has a lot of features. There are two front small pockets for keys, phone chargers, earbuds and the like, and the second largest pocket is great for organizing personals like my wallet, makeup bag, laptop charger, and some odds and ends (I keep notecards, sometimes food or a small notebook in there). The large zip pocket is amazing. It fits my 15 inch PC (!!) in the accordion pocket, several notebooks, a few magazines, and 3-4 books when I stack them two by two. I still carry around a bag for excess library books and research material, but that's natural and I wouldn't want to carry that much weight on my back anyway. I'm really short with a small build, so sometimes if I stuff the backpack too full my shoulders get sore and weighed down by the end of the day, but that's my parents' fault for making me small, not timbuk2's. I highly recommend this bag and company. The quality is great and I know it'll last me a long time.

I love the color of the Parkside and the straps. The two outside pockets are nice storage for a phone or items I need to assess easily. It would be nice if there was more storage space or pockets inside. But I'm happy with the purchase.

Have not had the chance to use this yet...however the color I picked (with the help of my daughter) is cool. Also, the Parkside has some emotional attachment involved. So there you go!

This backpack is the perfect laptop background for the everyday commute. It is spacious enough, has a good amount of pockets, and is comfortable and well-made. My ONLY concern is while wearing the backpack in a tank-top, the straps are a bit abrasive on bare skin after wearing for a while. Otherwise, it's perfectly suitable.

The bag looks great. I bought the black with red zippers style. It is structurally firm but not stiff. Keeps my things organized, however the top front compartment is a little tight to me when I reach in for loose items.

I am a college professor, and I needed a new backpack to take things back and forth to work. I bought the Parkside mostly because it was on sale. It is a good size backpack that will work well for me daily. I also like that it has that great Timbuk2 construction and I won't worry about my books and paper getting wet if I get caught in the weather.

A well thought out back that allows me to arrange my work gear well, even adding a lunch bag along with my laptop, coffee thermos, and water bottle. My one worry is the zippers seem cheap to me and I worry they won't last. Comfortable wearing backpack, and I like the added touch of the bottle opener on the shoulder strap.

This is almost the perfect bag for me. I love the slim design (doesn't stick out far from your back), but it also has the ability to expand pretty well. The front 2 pockets for quick access are extremely handy; I am using them a lot more than I originally thought I would. I definitely love the water bottle pocket. The 2 things I think would make this perfect is 1) more padding on the bottom of the bag and front and back sides of the pockets for the laptop and tablet sections, and 2) a little more customization to the middle zippered compartment by including more or better designed pocket features (like one zippered pocket or pockets on both sides of the compartment) it just looks a little undersigned and cheap.

- bag can expand to fit quite a bit, but when you simply have a folder and a laptop, it doesn't look squashed. The unused space just kind of folds into itself, between the two zippers.
- it would have been awesome if it could stand on its own, but I'd rather have it be lightweight, so I'll make do with propping this up when I need top-access.

i use this when i need to carry a gym bag and when i know i have a lot of paperwork to bring home from work. this easily fits an ipad, paperwork, sneakers and gym clothes.
the only reason i didn't give it the full five ratings is because it doesn't have the signature red lanyard, nor does it have enough inside organizer pockets. otherwise, i love this streamlined backpack. this is the company to buy from if you want a backpack that can confidently handle long nyc commutes on the subway and socializing on weekends. the bottle opener is a nice touch.

I love the look, I love the material. I wish the straps weren't so stiff right now. Hoping that they loosen up after some use.

The Parkside backpack is a great all-around daily use or weekend adventure backpack. It looks great, has plenty of space for a laptop, books, cameras, various power cords and notebooks that one might need on a daily basis. It appears to be pretty compact but can actually fit quite a bit of stuff. The smaller front pockets are well placed and the side pouch accommodate most water bottles.
I do, however, recommend trying on one in a store before purchasing or just include the timbuk2 sternum strap accessory ($5, sold separately) with your order. I have broader shoulders and the straps are pretty stiff and unforgiving. My bag arrived right before a weekend of walking throughout New York City and the front portion of my left shoulder (deltoid?) took a beating after a few hours wearing this backpack. I just hacked together a temporary sternum strap and the bag is much more comfortable.
I would give this bag a 5Star rating if it was sold with the must-have sternum strap.
The zippers seem to catch quite a bit too but I assume they will break in over time.

This backpack is a great choice for school-aged kids but it cannot fit loads of stuff. Otherwise, it's a cleverly designed and made backpack that justifies the price tag.
