Really rugged, lots of storage space. It has a good compact profile, which is perfect as a laptop bag, but has big deep compartments that can make it a great weekend bag too. The TSA laptop compartment is a nice feature, but it is a bit difficult to access. The zippers are behind the straps, and you have to finagle a little to get the laptop in and out. Given how tall the backpack is, it would benefit from a few extra pouches in the main compartments. If you clutter your bag with a lot of small items, it could be difficult to find things easily. Overall though, it's great as a laptop bag. It's stylish, lightweight, and super-well constructed.

I love the space available, the compartments that hold everything I need and how compact the back can be. It holds so much efficiently with the various pockets that I don't need to expand the bag except when traveling. Quality and attention to detail are great.

I have a 1.5 hour commute every day by train where I try to get lots of work and reading done, but it was a big struggle with my old bag keeping everything organized and carrying everything I wanted to. Not only does this bag meet capacity, it feels more durable and looks better.

Very impressed with the heavy duty and high quality construction, and attention to detail. I really like the skookum straps and seam work as this failed on my previous Musto and Helly Hansen bags under my usual gear load. This bag carries lots of weight comfortably and without loosing shape. Only suggestion would be to add elastics to the compression strap excess as done in the shoulder straps.

Been looking for the perfect EDC Backpack for longer than I can remember. I do know I have way too many "Bags" that were used a few times and then put in the Closet, never to be carried again. Last week I received my TIMBUK2 Command Backpack; THIS IS THE EDC I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! It has the Compartments that I like. It has Large specialized padded compartments for Laptop, Journals, and a Book or two. It is easy to carry, The Admin Compartment has Good Space for Small notebook, Pens and other "things" you may need to get quickly. Good Fit and Nice Clean Look. Took a shot buying this EDC because the Command Backpack was on Sale, the Price was Right and I am GLAD I took the Shot!!!

Stylish, versatile pack with pockets for just about everything you could need to bring. The adjustable straps on the bottom of the pack allow the main compartment to expand and/or compact (depending on how much stuff you're carrying) allowing the pack to keep its shape at all times. Even though I've only used the pack once for a weekend trip, i believe that it will suit my needs for many excursions for years to come.

Hi five. This bag rocks. Laptop access is super easy with a side zipper that basically allows you to remove your compute while the bag is on your back. The TSA fold-out laptop feature makes airport security a breeze. There are pockets everywhere for all your charging cords and cables, pens, earbuds, keys, water bottle. Handles on the side and top make it easy to move the bag around. It's water-resistant shell is solid as I can attest walking 10 blocks in NYC rain. You can fit enough clothes for a long weekend, if you pack light. The light color looks professional. And bonus on the bottle opener.

I got this as a gift. I love how the bag holds its shape and doesn't slump over when half full. I am not sure if it is waterproof, but I have had it on while walking a few blocks in the rain and the contents in my bag were completely dry when I got home. It did seem to look like it repelled water. All of the different compartments are really useful and no space is wasted. I also find it very comfortable to wear (even when its very heavy) for long periods of time. Would buy it again (or any other product from this company)!

Hi all: I love this backpack. Survived a 3-day trip to Chicago and it was put through the ringer. However my only small (and this is small) complaint it is big for some airlines. So if you are traveling watch the hight requirements for carry-on bags for underneath seats and overhead. Other than that.. this back is is wonderful.

I LOVE this backpack. I'll admit I'm a bag snob. Especially when it comes to what I will use at work/for commuting. It needs to serve a purpose but it has to look good too. It also must have an abundance of pockets, be comfortable, and have a few extra buckles and straps to make it look extra ergonomic and/or outdoorsy. Okay the last part was half joking, but not really. This bag is what Mary Poppins would use if she were to appear in 2018. It holds EVERYTHING and then some. Some have compared it to the Tardis. I would agree. It fits nicely under plane seats, has outer pockets for quick access and keeps me well organized. I'm now buying one for my husband because I love it so much.

I love all of the pockets for organization and the different compartments. The side front pouch for wallet and phone during a recent plane trip was very helpful! Will be great for overnight travel.

The. Best. Backpack. I bought bag near the end of high-school. Now it is carrying me through university away from home. It's my school bag, my duffle bag, my grocery bag, my emergency bag. Every day it's holding at least 20 pounds. It doesn't matter how you like to organize your stuff, what you like to bring, or how much your carrying. Got a small load? No problem. I don't know why or how, but unlike other bags, this one doesn't get all saggy when it's empty. Got a huge amount of stuff you need to lug? No problem. The thing is like a Tardis, it's bigger on the inside. Most importantly, it doesn't suffer from pocket-fever. I'm so sick of backpack designers thinking: "Okay, this guy is a student right? And students have calculators right? And my pocket calculator is this big, so we should make a pocket 4 cm by 7 cm for all these students calculators!" This thing has 6 zippered compartments (not including the laptop holder). The main compartment is one. The secondary compartment has two zippered compartments inside it, each big enough to hold a pop can. The sunglasses holder is decently sized, and the last compartment is on the front (or is it back?) of the pack and is big enough to hold my large laptop charger and a couple of other cables. The only pockets that I don't really use are the hard-drive pockets in the secondary compartment (not zippered). I don't need them and they don't get in the way. All the other pockets are large enough that I can store a couple of reasonably sized items in them for easy access. Perfection. Another really underrated feature of this bag is the tablet pocket in the laptop compartment. Because the whole compartment is re-enforced, I put any important papers in the tablet pocket. That way they can't get scuffed or crumpled. Enjoy this pack! You'll take it everywhere!

I have had the Command backpack for over 2 year now and have used it as my day-to-day work back for commuting (transit and biking) and traveling. I have been very happy with the bag as it holds everything in the right and accessible place (tablet, laptop, passport, etc.) I made a mod to add a more accessible internal loop to carry keys and headphone cases which I had done with the uptown bag I had previous to this. The one negative I have found with the bag is that it has worn much more than the Uptown bag I had, I have large hole on the back padding and some of the lower seams are starting to open up. Overall I would recommend but it is not a rugged as a Tumi or other career bags.
