Hard to get on and heavy. Not comfortable at all. No give in the ankle area. Too bad, they are cute boots but not comfortable.

I had an awful time with these. I gave 3 stars because they are very warm, and they are waterproof- so the quality is good. However, the fit is horrible. If you have thin legs or narrow feet, this is not the boot for you. They are extremely heavy, and it becomes tiring to pick up each foot after a short walk, and so clunky that they look clownish/silly on my feet- like a cartoon character (for reference I'm a size 2, athletic body type, 5'3, about 125 lb, so I'm not insanely petite or anything). If you look at the picture, there is a thick strip of plastic that runs along the back to the loop. It doesn't seem to be necessary, and it's insanely painful because the strip is concave and presses along your achilles heel. I walked to campus with these (about a mile walk, and by the time I started home I was limping and could actually feel the blood running down into my sock- they cut into my achilles. I've tried to wear them various times with thick socks, etc. I even put cloth pads in, and the indent is so sharp it still cuts through it. Finally, I took out the boot liner to see what was going on and both boots had a part of the back of the heel that was actually sharp to the touch, right in the middle of the achilles. I don't know if it is because my leg is relatively thin, and if it was bigger it would sort of pop out the concave, sharp strip so that it didn't rub, but I'm going to return.

So wanted to love these but they are clunky and slip in the heel. Tried to buy Joan of Arctic last year and had same problem:(

At first, these boots were really comfortable, but after one week of wear, they are rubbing blisters on the backs of my feet, even with thick socks. They are difficult to walk and maneuver in and they have NO traction. These are fine enough if you're just going to wear them for a short time, but they are not suitable for much walking or walking in icy conditions.

I really wanted to like these since I got them yesterday. I walked around the house with them just to get a feel of what it'd be like to walk in them for a while. I found that the back part of the boot bunches/buckles around my ankle. It gave me a slight blister. I tried to remedy this by wearing thicker socks and even tried not lacing them up so tight but I still felt that bunching which was extremely comfortable. I don't know if it's because my calves are big or what, but I can't imagine myself walking in these for more than 5 minutes. I had to return them.

I wear 8.5-9. Everyone said to order down so I ordered an 8, but they were too small. It’s the liner sleeve that is the problem. The boot itself seems like it would fit. I don’t like the inner sleeve. It comes out when you pull out your foot and is tight and not soft. I don’t like the style. The maroon color is fine, but the liner color is ugly. The boot itself makes your foot look huge and smashed in when laced.

The shaft of the boots dug into my leg and were uncomfortable. My feet were cold after 20 minutes in mild weather so I returned them.

I so wanted to love this boot! It's very cute and looks much better than similar styles by other brands. I was very disappointed though, bc the part where the rubber bottom meets the shaft of the boot rubbed very uncomfortably on the outside of my ankle, and that was only in the first couple minutes while trying them on. I ended up going with the cozy carnival by sorel; they're not as heavy duty but will do well enough schlepping around in snowy Chicago winters.

So cute, but uncomfortable. I'm usually a size 8, but the 8 in this boot felt unbelievably large. I ordered a half size down, but it was still too large. I would have ordered a 7 (full size smaller than my usual size) but there was an odd indentation in the right boot that dug into the top of my foot. The left boot didn't have it. So after trying two sizes in this boot, I have given up and will be searching for a different boot.

I have to wonder if they recently changed this boot. I tried on the same boot on clearance two weeks before at a local shop and they were exactly what I was looking for, but a size or two too small for the heavy winter socks I wanted to put underneath. I came to Zappos and ordered two separate sizes and there was no way I could wear either comfortably. As another reviewer mentioned they hit oddly above the heel, and when I stood upright both sizes slouched in that spot. I have larger than average calves from biking, but I really don't think that was the problem as I still can easily lace them as tightly as they go. My husband commented that they looked like they were shaped in a way that was only comfortable when leaning forward. I agree. The pairs I received had less of a curve above the heel than what is pictured. I also bought a pair of North Face Chilkat 400 and found no such issue.

These boots are not made very well. They feel pretty cheap and they don't even go that high. Doubt they would protect from the snow very well.

Loved the look of the boot. I ordered a size 6 and usually wear a 6 or 6.5. My toe was all the way up to the front of the boot, but the ankle and leg area were so big I could slip my foot out. Great looking boot but didn't fit well!

I wanted to love these boots, but they were way too big even though I ordered a half size down, and the backs dug into my ankle in such a way that I found it difficult to walk. Very stylish but not a good fit.

I wanted to love this boot. It was cute and very warm but there was an inner sewn in liner that pinched the back of my heel and made it uncomfortable as well as pucker the fabric on the outside.

I wanted to love these boots and I almost did. However, the boots bends inward at the back and rubs on the ankle. Very disappointing.

I kind of hate these boots. They feel like they are not intended to give a snug fit, but are more like an "overshoe" if you will. They are super wide, no support, no shape. They are lined around the leg area, but that's really it. If I could have a redo, I would not buy these.

Terrible boot for anywhere with actual winter. There is barely any sole on the boot, your foot is nearly touching the ground. I purchased two sets of wool insoles to help. Even with these and a thick pair of wool sock, your feet will be cold. Don't not buy these boots!!!

Awful snow boots. Sole is so thin it's like your not wearing boots. I purchased two sets of wool insole. Even with both insoles and a thick pair of wool socks, my feet are absolutely frozen. Can't feel my toes after wearing them outdoors. Do not buy these boots. I've own cheaper boots from Walmart that were a better quality. Sorel should be ashamed to have their name and logo on these boots. A total waste of my money!!
I'd also recommend:
Any other brand than Sorel, total crap

I picked the size as recommended but now the boots are too big and I'd have to pay to return them. I had to check to make sure maybe men's boots weren't accidentally sent instead because they were that large.

I am profoundly disappointed in this purchase. I thought Sorel was a great brand, but now I'm not so sure I'd bother with another one of their products. It's been quite a few years since I've needed winter boots... I had a pair for decades but they've fallen apart and I needed new ones, so I thought I'd try these. These boots have a really nice lining in them that looks warm, until you realize that it's only on the sides and back of the boot, but nothing in front covering your shin. There's just a thin piece of material, which I assume is some type of nylon between you and the elements. The piece of nylon is essential the "tongue" of the shoe, and there's nothing behind it. (See photos.) Now, if my calf was the size of a 6 or 7 year old girl's, and I could pull the sides all the way around to meet in the front (see the last photo), and lace it up that way, this wouldn't be a problem. But I'm not a small child. I'm an adult, and the weather gets to below freezing where I live, and we get snow. I would like something warm for all of my foot not just parts of it. I'm astounded about how weirdly these are made. I've never seen boots like this, and I don't get the point. I'm thankful for Zappos returns because these are going back. I'm not sure who they'd work for... If you want boots, don't you want all of your foot protected and warm? Also as a side note, the tongue is attached all the way to the top, making it kind of awkward to try to get your foot into these boots. You have to point your toe and slide your foot all the way down into the bottom of the boot, but because there's no structure to the front of the boot at all, they just want to fall over and collapse when you do that. Definitely need to be sitting down to put these on!

I had a a pair of Sorel boots that I wore for years and loved. This pair are extremely uncomfortable. They caused bad blisters on my ankles after wearing for a short time and can't be worn again.

I had high hopes for these boots, but unfortunately they turned out to be quite uncomfortable. With the first use,the back creased to fold inward and rubbed on my achilles area despite wearing tall socks. I had awful blisters by the end of the first walk with them. They're basically unusable. I wish I could return them.

Ummm they just don't make these like they used to. I was replacing an old pair my puppy chewed up. New version, not great. Returned them immediately.
