I am a sorel fan. I have loved every pair I have purchased. These sorel carnival are one of my faves. They are warm and comfy and keep my feet toasty on the cold snowy days.

These fit lengthwise, but were very tight around the top of my foot. They were also HEAVY. the way they laced, also make me think that snow would easily get into the top of the boot.

These boots run HUGE! I'm a solid size 9 and when I ordered them in my size, my feet were floating around inside the boot. I exchanged them for a size 8.5 and they're still too big. I'm now sizing down to an 8. Once they fit, I think they'll be a great boot. Got in the green color and they seem ready to take on the rugged winters in Vermont.

I was looking for a winter boot that had a roomier toe box and a bit more rugged style for weekend wear. I love the color and the style, however, I wish the laces went up a few more notches as the tongue gapes after tying. A client has the 1964 Premium CVS and loves them, so I might purchase them and see how they feel. p.s. If you haven't heard of Uniqlo's heat tech product, try their heat tech socks! I wear them with my Dansko "Maria" ankle boots and it gives a nice cozy warm layer!

I was a bit nervous spending what I did on these boots, however, I’m happy I did! They arrived so quickly, and just in time for a snow storm! They fit true to size. My stats: shoe 8.5, pant/calf size 10/12 pant. These boots are waterproof, have laces, are rubber lowers and a waterproof fabric top. They come with fleece inserts that your feet slide into. I ordered my true size because many reviews indicated they ran larger and to go down 1/2 size. I wanted additional room for heavy socks, not realizing how warm they would be. I’m glad I ordered my true size because they are so warm; I’ll never wear thick socks with these. I’ve actually worn ankle socks or have even gone barefoot (with warm feet!). I really like the fleece insert. Although I haven’t had to yet, they could be removed and washed! They do loosen up, as one would expect after wearing them a couple times. There were reviews that indicated they were tight and hard to get their feet in and out. I didn’t have this issue, but I will say they did loosen up a bit. I also loosen my shoe laces so am unsure what it would be like to get in/out with tied laces. There were reviews about the plastic/rubber piece that sticks into your ankle. I did note this the first couple times I wore them (to and from work only~2 hrs each time). It never caused a blister, etc. and I now do not note it. In addition to them being super warm, they are also waterproof. I was worried with the shoe laces, water would somehow get in... nope! I’ve actually warn them on cold rainy days. Yes, I’ve walked in puddles. Feet stayed dry! They are a bit clunky but you can tell this even by the pictures. They are heavier than my previous (cheap) pair of snow boots but not too heavy. They even look cute with leggings/ankle. I’d say they are stylish fit a snow boot. I have worn them out and about with jeggings tucked in with a winter vest and cute scarf. I’ve even received many compliments on them. I’d say for snow boots, they are stylish. I would purchase these again in another color but for now, olive green it is!

Look huge in real life...I really liked how they look in pictures, but in reality they are very clunky. When I took them out of the box, my initial thought was that they sent me wrong size. I have small, narrow feet - usually wear 6 or 6½ - ordered 6 and it looked like 8 ??

I recently moved to Maine and realized I needed a good pair of boots for the snow and ice. I have narrow feet and was hesitant to order the Snow Carnival as some people thought they ran wide. However, with Zappos excellent return policy I felt I had nothing to lose. I ordered my regular size 7.5 hoping I would have room for Smart Wool socks. I am so glad I took the chance on these boots. They fit well with wool socks and are warm and comfortable with enough room to wiggle my toes (which is essential in cold weather boots). They arrived several days ago just before the last snow storm. I found they break in quickly and look stylish with leggings or jeans. Also, there is room to tuck in pants. Easy on and easy off. Thanks Zappos for a great service and a great price.

I had an awful time with these. I gave 3 stars because they are very warm, and they are waterproof- so the quality is good. However, the fit is horrible. If you have thin legs or narrow feet, this is not the boot for you. They are extremely heavy, and it becomes tiring to pick up each foot after a short walk, and so clunky that they look clownish/silly on my feet- like a cartoon character (for reference I'm a size 2, athletic body type, 5'3, about 125 lb, so I'm not insanely petite or anything). If you look at the picture, there is a thick strip of plastic that runs along the back to the loop. It doesn't seem to be necessary, and it's insanely painful because the strip is concave and presses along your achilles heel. I walked to campus with these (about a mile walk, and by the time I started home I was limping and could actually feel the blood running down into my sock- they cut into my achilles. I've tried to wear them various times with thick socks, etc. I even put cloth pads in, and the indent is so sharp it still cuts through it. Finally, I took out the boot liner to see what was going on and both boots had a part of the back of the heel that was actually sharp to the touch, right in the middle of the achilles. I don't know if it is because my leg is relatively thin, and if it was bigger it would sort of pop out the concave, sharp strip so that it didn't rub, but I'm going to return.

I’ve had my eye on these boots since last year. With the mixed reviews on sizing I was hesitant to order them. I ordered a half size up to accommodate thick socks and I have plenty of room without feeling squished. I could’ve probably gone with my true size but I wear thicker socks in the winter and wanted the extra room. I didn’t find these to be too narrow as some people did. I like the overall look and feel of the fabric upper. It’s not stiff and you can comfortably tuck your pants into your boots. We get a lot of snow here so dry pant legs are a must. These are warm but not too warm that your feet get hot. I can comfortably wear these all day without issue.

Great boot but runs narrow and long. I usually wear an 8.5. The 9 was way too large and the 8 fit better lengthwise but was too narrow across the ball of my foot.

When it's non stop snow, these boots are the best! They are the perfect size for a little snow or tons of snow. They're not too bulky or too tiny, they are just right.

I normally wear a 7.5, so I ordered 7.5 in these boots, and I had plenty of room even with my thick wool socks, which I always wear with winter boots. They are still roomy, I might have even been able to pull of a 7 but I am happy with the fit. They are a bit clunky to walk in, and I did worry my feet looked a bit large in them, but who cares? I adore these boots. I had my eye on several different kinds of Sorel boots, and finally decided to take the plunge after some other boots did not work out. I am so happy I did. These are great quality, waterproof, warm, and in my opinion they look great. Sorel you did not disappoint! I look forward to having these for many winters to come.

These will keep someone warm, the quality looked great, the fabric outside is tasteful and inside seems incredibly padded and warm. They are "clunky"; if you have wide calves, the tongue of the shoe will not tuck in under the fur. Overall, its a good shoe, but as all shoes, it needs to be what you want and need.

I originally ordered my usual size and when I got them they were huge on me. I went down a half size and they fit really well in the toes but the heel space is fairly wide still for my feet but comfortable. I can feel my heel slide up and down (even with thick socks) when I walk but they are super warm and comfortable. And the exchange procedure was super quick and simple.

Has a very thin, plasticky tongue. Fleece at top seems tacked on, it doesn't have any function. Sole doesn't have much tread. I was looking to replace an old pair of Sorels that have been perfect snow boots and these will not do. I will try Cumberland next.

At first, these boots were really comfortable, but after one week of wear, they are rubbing blisters on the backs of my feet, even with thick socks. They are difficult to walk and maneuver in and they have NO traction. These are fine enough if you're just going to wear them for a short time, but they are not suitable for much walking or walking in icy conditions.

What a great boot! They were just too heavy to walk around in. I feel I would only wear them to shovel snow and I have a Sorel that's light weight that I will just wear.

too large - my feet were swimming in the shoe. I'm a very standard size 7, and these felt a whole size larger. i would consider sizing down - my pair will be returned and unfortunately, the smaller pair is not available in my color preference.
