The fit was a teensy bit short but okay. The ankle area was very baggy.

I picked the size as recommended but now the boots are too big and I'd have to pay to return them. I had to check to make sure maybe men's boots weren't accidentally sent instead because they were that large.

These were uncomfortable and didn't seem warm at all. They seem more like a fashion boot than something to actually wear in the winter.

I bought these in preparation for my February 2025 trip to the Invictus Games in Vancouver-Whistler. I purchased a half size larger after reading reviews, and I'm glad I did! I have another style on the way. I hope I'm happy with those as well!

Boots well made and clearly will keep feet dry. I liked the removable and washable inner. However I’ve had surgery on my right foot and across the ball of my foot felt quite tight. The left one fit perfectly. Unfortunately I had to return.

I am profoundly disappointed in this purchase. I thought Sorel was a great brand, but now I'm not so sure I'd bother with another one of their products. It's been quite a few years since I've needed winter boots... I had a pair for decades but they've fallen apart and I needed new ones, so I thought I'd try these. These boots have a really nice lining in them that looks warm, until you realize that it's only on the sides and back of the boot, but nothing in front covering your shin. There's just a thin piece of material, which I assume is some type of nylon between you and the elements. The piece of nylon is essential the "tongue" of the shoe, and there's nothing behind it. (See photos.) Now, if my calf was the size of a 6 or 7 year old girl's, and I could pull the sides all the way around to meet in the front (see the last photo), and lace it up that way, this wouldn't be a problem. But I'm not a small child. I'm an adult, and the weather gets to below freezing where I live, and we get snow. I would like something warm for all of my foot not just parts of it. I'm astounded about how weirdly these are made. I've never seen boots like this, and I don't get the point. I'm thankful for Zappos returns because these are going back. I'm not sure who they'd work for... If you want boots, don't you want all of your foot protected and warm? Also as a side note, the tongue is attached all the way to the top, making it kind of awkward to try to get your foot into these boots. You have to point your toe and slide your foot all the way down into the bottom of the boot, but because there's no structure to the front of the boot at all, they just want to fall over and collapse when you do that. Definitely need to be sitting down to put these on!

I wore Caribous religiously until now. These are just as warm, but much more lightweight and needed no time to break in. I’m really happy with these boots!

I had a a pair of Sorel boots that I wore for years and loved. This pair are extremely uncomfortable. They caused bad blisters on my ankles after wearing for a short time and can't be worn again.

So stylish, I wish they fit. I little wide for my narrow size 12 feet. Tried with thick socks which helped but too bulky around ankle and lower calf.

These boots get the job done. Going strong 3 years later. My feet stay nice and warm. However, every time I take them off, the lining gets pulled out and I have to stuff it back in. It gets very annoying. Doesn't happen if you don't have socks on, which sometimes I don't for quick trips, but otherwise it's a pretty big downside to the boots. Probably wouldn't purchase again.

I've been searching for a really warm boot as we have been having 40-50 below wind chills this week! I love the style of the Winter Carnival, and I tried on several sizes in a store but every size I tried, fit my foot but they all slipped on my heel a lot. My daughter tried a pair in her size and the same thing happened. It seems this is some kind of defect in the way that particular style is made. I ended up buying a pair of the Snow Angels and they are very comfortable and have kept my toes warm, however, I still like the style of Winter Carnival better!

I had high hopes for these boots, but unfortunately they turned out to be quite uncomfortable. With the first use,the back creased to fold inward and rubbed on my achilles area despite wearing tall socks. I had awful blisters by the end of the first walk with them. They're basically unusable. I wish I could return them.

I loved the look but unfortunately like other reviewers noted, they dig in the back of the heel. I noticed it within a few steps. I reallly wanted to like them but knew there was no way I could walk very far in them. And they’re too much money to have to modify or break in to that extent.

This is not the fit of the Sorels I bought 5 years ago. The toebox is strange - wide enough, yet flat, so my bunion hurt from the pressure from the top. These also are kind of strange like clown shoes, not stylish like they used to be. Too bad because the heel height is perfect and the quality and materials are very nice. Definitely need to try on for yourself.

I bought these boots last-minute before a Fall Break trip, when I discovered my 30-year old Sorel Snowlions were degrading (nylon outer layer was getting sticky). These Winter Carnival boots are not as tall as the Snowlions, but they have the same thick, removable felt liner and kept my feet warm even when stepping foot- or ankle- deep into the Great Lakes in mid-October, hunting for fossils and rocks. Even when a wave or two splashed over the top and they got a bit wet inside, my feet were still warm (I was wearing wool socks too), but I was very pleased with these boots and their performance not only for keeping my feet comfortable but also for walking on sandy, rocky and wet ground. I fully expect these to last 30+ years like my Snowlions did!

The pros: They do keep your feet warm and are pretty comfortable (other than the con below). I bought these last fall and have not experienced what others have been saying about the boot digging into my ankles. I rarely wear short socks with these though so that may make a difference? The cons: They are very heavy and almost a little difficult to walk in because of that fact. I bought an 8 (normally between a 7.5-8 depending on the shoe) and they do fit fine with normal thickness socks on. They are snuck if I put on thicker socks. Although I do like these boots and will not be getting rid of them, I will be trying to find something lighter for regular use in the winter

Too narrow for me. I usually wear either a 8B or a 7 1/2 W, and the 8B was way too narrow for me. Looks like a nice sturdy boot, though.
