Well I am smitten. These are basically the classic Sorel boot but with nylon instead of leather, hence about a half pound lighter. The nylon is matte and looks like canvas until you touch it. I feel like they run just under a half size large (length dept) and they are roomy in the heel area. The back of the boot has a strip of leather over the nylon. I got the elk/red dahlia color and the red (particularly the laces) is deeper than pictured. Like a pigeon's blood red.

I've been searching for a really warm boot as we have been having 40-50 below wind chills this week! I love the style of the Winter Carnival, and I tried on several sizes in a store but every size I tried, fit my foot but they all slipped on my heel a lot. My daughter tried a pair in her size and the same thing happened. It seems this is some kind of defect in the way that particular style is made. I ended up buying a pair of the Snow Angels and they are very comfortable and have kept my toes warm, however, I still like the style of Winter Carnival better!

The boots look great with tucked in jeans or leggings. However, if you are looking for a boot to be outside for a long duration of time 3+ hours these are not the ones. Wore these to a Steelers football game Christmas Eve with 5 degree temp. With a foot warmer and three pairs of wool socks my feet were cold by half time. The sole does not have give for comfortable distance walking.

I live in an area with a lot of snow and sorel boots are crucial here. I was drawn to these boots due to the replaceable boot liner, traction, waterproof feature and the boot height. The quality, traction and style of boot were great but the boots were too small for me and I didn't like the lack of ankle support when walking.

These boots are cute but they have absolutely no traction whatsoever. I've almost wiped out multiple times. They look like great, cute winter boots but they aren't practical (or safe IMO).

They are VERY WIDE. Hard to walk in if you lace them up tight.

I wanted to love these boots more than I actually do. They look great and I get compliments on them all the time, but they are pretty uncomfortable to wear for a long time. I wore them to work at a restaurant once when it was snowing and not only were my feet killing me after walking/standing in them for 5 hours, but it seemed like they were less slip resistant than any other shoes I own (they aren't advertised to be slip-resistant, I just assumed they would have some kind of slip-resistance being snow boots). I only wear these now when I need to walk in the snow for shorts periods of time, which is disappointing because I really like the way they look and they are amazing at keeping my feet warm.
