I agree with comments that the 2014 Ariiel become narrower. This makes them even better for me! The 2014 is my sixth pair. My shoe size is 91/2 N and I have a narrow heel. Size 10 in Brooks works for me. I wear custom orthotics and they work better in Ariel than in any other running shoe. i don't even try others since I found Brooks. Brooks Addiction used to run a close second to Ariel but did not stand up to wear as well.

These shoes are miraculous. My feet get beat up from volleyball: I have had a couple of ankle sprains and plantar fasciitis, and currently have heel spurs and a metatarsal stress fracture. I wore the Ariel back when I had plantar fasciitis but switched back to a lighter, more flexible sneaker when my foot got better. Big mistake! After having near-constant foot pain for the past 2 years it finally occurred to me to go back to the Ariel – and it made an immediate difference! They are the only shoe I don’t have to wear an expensive insole with because they provide enough arch support for me. And while the cushioning isn’t as thick as it used to be, it is still good enough. I highly recommend these for people with cranky feet like mine. And a style tip: I replaced the white laces with gray ones and they are much cuter. :-)

Fits beautifully for me with wide toe box and narrow heel and good arch support. I like the color as I am not one one the glow in the dark colors Brooks have put on some shoes.

The shoes are true to size. I have severe pronation and the shoes provides good support. I am very happy with the shoes and would purchase again.

Very comfortable out of the box. Also very spportive. I used insole from old Brooks Ariel because the one that comes with this newer Ariel is not as comfortable. Brooks has cheapened it.

I was a little hesitant about ordering these since they seemed to have some mixed reviews but I am so happy with them! I had to go up half a size and order a wide but I have orthotics that take up room in the shoe. The best thing about these is that they hug the instep, providing great support without weight. These shoes have allowed me to have a semblance of a life again and that is too precious for words. I cannot say enough good things about them. I also, love the gray/navy combination it is very stylish. If you have very flat feet and need motion control, these are the shoes for you. Just size up half a size and consider going to a wide, unless you do not wear orthotics or have super skinny feet. I will be ordering another pair soon. If I had not sized up and out they would have been too small. I order a 10½W and usually wear a 10M.

I broke my talus bone, tore some tendons, and had a high ankle sprain late last year, which led to plantar fasciitis and mortons neuroma. After much research, I bought these shoes in hopes they would provide the comfort and support I needed coming out of a boot and going through physical therapy. They are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have worn them every day for the past 6 months and am on the website to buy another pair. I'be been converted. I will only buy Brooks tennis shoes going forward. Highly recommend.

I got these Brooks shoes after another setback of plantar fasciitis. I needed motion control shoes according to my physical therapist. These passed his inspection. I've added custom orthotics and they fit well inside. Love the fit, function, and the colors.

This is my go to running shoe. The shoes have very good stability. I have been wearing them for years and I have lost count how many pairs I have gone through. They last a long time but running shoes need to be replaced on a regular basis. That is why I have gone through so many pairs. At some point in updating the model they made these smaller. So I have to buy a size 9 now. I have never worn a size 9 in my life except in this shoe. It's a great shoe just make sure you buy the right size because running in a shoe that is too small is not good.

This is my 4th pair of Brooks Ariel Sneakers. I really like them. I had to go up a size due to foot surgery so I am getting used to that feeling, but I am sure that they will be just fine.

I have worn Brooks Dyad's for 10years. Foot size is 9.5 narrow. Bought 10.5 medium and it fit's perfectly! Could easily fit thick inner sole cushion, super heel cushion, solid firm stable feel to shoe yet light in weight. Color hides dirt, shoe strings have a light blue line that adds depth to look. Get adequate support for moderate pronator foot issues. Toe box not too wide...might be too narrow for truly medium sized foot.

I just upgraded to the Ariel 14 after wearing almost every iteration of the Addiction since the mid '90s. I'm wearing a half size larger in the Ariel 14 than I did in the Addition 11, but it seems the Addictions were a bit on the small side. I have problem feet and hated to move on from the Addictions, but the Ariels are even more wonderful! Comfortable, snug (but not too tight fit), plenty of padding in the right places.

Loved the style & color. The toe box small for my arthritic feet. I have been wearing Brooks Ariel for several years. Disappointed in the change in fore foot of this sneaker.

These became my favorite shoes the moment I put them on. They are the perfect combination of firm support and cushion. I can walk for miles in these without the slightest bit of discomfort. I am so glad that they are offered in the EE width.

I love these! I've struggled for years to find comfortable shoes. I have Plantar Fasciitis and am a severe overpronator. I put my Powerstep insoles in and I am good to go all day. There is no end of the day foot pain, no sore ankles, and no achilles tendon issues. I did order a 1/2 size larger as suggested by the Brooks website. I highly recommend these for anyone with any foot issues. I completed my research, placed the order, and got them the next day. Thank you Zappos! Y'all rock!

I have been buying Ariels for years. I have severe flat feet and my right foot is inflexible. This is the absolute best shoe for me to wear on a daily basis. I'm able to walk miles in this shoe that I can't in any other shoe. I've liked the previous designs and I think Ariel '14 is even better built than before. My foot is narrow but I order a wide to accommodate my orthotics and heavier cushy socks. I also much prefer the color scheme on the '14 over previous versions.

Awesome shoes! Love the fit and the color! These shoes fit a little more snugly than the Ariel 12s, but they still feel wonderful on my feet. I have bunion, arch, and pronation issues, but the wide shoe still accommodates my awkward feet and I can walk comfortably in them all day long.

These are the only shoes that I wear daily. I started wearing them in order to ease my plantar fasciitis and now just always wear them because they make my feet happy. I usually wear a size 8 and order a size 38 in this shoe. I buy a new pair every 9-12 months. I give this shoe a thumbs up review?

I have been wearing Brooks Ariel for over 5 years at the recommendation of my orthopedic surgeon. The support and construction to aid non-pronation is unique to Ariel. I exchange the insole for my orthopedic insole. I have worn Ariel walking and hiking all over the world. The best. I hope Brooks makes them in solid colors sometime in the future.

I purchased the 14 after having worn the 12. The 14 is not the same shoe. I wear a wide and the sneaker is much narrower than the previous style. I should of returned it for a half size bigger. The tongue is attached to the shoe on the sides which made it feel too snug so I cut it free which helped greatly. I really wished they didn't change the width. Otherwise this sneaker is super sturdy and really helps with my foot and knee pain that I have.

Love this shoe. A slight redesign from the 11 model but it is a good one. Doesn't seem to lose its shape as quickly as before. Great colors and goes with everything. Comfy as always! Have already ordered another pair.

I can't emphasize how much I love Brooks Ariel! I have worn them for years, have always ordered a half size and one width up, and have never been disappointed. I wear them constantly and have to order a new pair every six months, since the support they offer disappears quickly after 6 months of regular wear. I'm a pronator and have custom orthotics which fit beautifully inside the Ariel. There is zero break in time with this shoe. They are wonderfully comfortable right out of the box.

Needed to go up 1/2 a size and get a wide shoe but that fit is perfect. The arch support is the best I've ever experienced in a shoe. Wish there was a toned down style to choose from - would love to be able to wear these shoes more often.
