If you like a wide toe box this shoe is not for you. It is smaller than the Dyad 7. I waited 8 months for this new style and am so disappointed. You messed up Brooks. Back they go and will reorder the Dyad 7 before they are gone.

I think I have finally found a shoe that really works. I am 65, have extra wide flat feet and a bad knee. I have worn New Balance for years but in the last year have been unable to find one that works. Have tried other brands and no luck either. Decided to try these shoes and I think I have finally found THE shoe that works for me. It took about a week of daily wear for me to adjust. They are well cushioned and the arch support is great. My knee and back do not hurt when I wear them. Because of the shape of the toe I had to order a half size larger. These shoes are well worth trying.

As the owner of a very overused pair of Dyad 6's, I was anxiously awaiting to plop on the Dyad 8's today & go for a run. Nope, they are going back! Because I like my shoes to have ample space in the toe area, I went up 1/2 size, from a size 10.5 wide to a size 11 wide. As I had read from other reviewers on various websites, the design changed & the toebox is definitely narrower. As a result, the size 11 is actually smaller than my size 10.5. Boo! Just bought a pair of Dyad 7's on a different website (and at 1/2 price). Hoping they fit better!

Great running/walking shoe. Comfy, stable, the wide fits a very high instep foot. I've always worn a wide shoe and these fit perfectly. Comfortable across the laces, roomy enough for a custom orthotic but I don't need mine with these shoes. Last year's model fit me the same and lasted for almost a year with daily excursions of at least two miles as well as wearing as my daily shoe.

These are very good shoes - good cushioning, quality materials, etc. However, I ordered this shoe because I owned a previous version that was the most comfortable sneaker ever. I think this version has a narrower toe box. Since I have very wide feet, I really preferred the older style. I ordered a half size larger based on my experience with the previous shoe and that was the right choice.

Brooks Dyad 8 is sized smaller and narrower than Dyad 7; I take a full size longer and wider in Dyad 8. That being said, Dyad 8 is great shoe with comfort cushioning underfoot, two loops to hold the tongue in place, a padded heel collar, and everything else the same as the Dyad 7. My difficult to fit feet are comfortable in these shoes! Easy enough to exchange for the correct size at Zappos!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe! Great for people who need a neutral shoe for running and/or everyday. Just remember, it runs short about a size, so go up a size when ordering. They will feel great!

The Dyad 5, 6, and 7 were great running/walking shoes. The Dyad 8 is an abomination. They ruined the heel control, eliminated the silicone gel in heel area on this new model, and did away with the achilles tendon slight cut out in the back of the shoe. Sorry Brooks you have lost a customer who purchased this shoe exclusively for the past ten years.

The cushion holds up longer than asics. I wear them every day for weight lifting, cardio, and standing all day.

I have been wearing Brooks for years and the Dyad 8 seems to be the only one that is great for stability. They are extremely comfortable. This is my second pair and I will be ordering a 3rd pair (as always from Zappos, love you guys) before they are gone.

wonderful walking shoes. Should have bought them months ago. Shoes do wear out when you put 2-3 miles a day on them plus all the the normal moving around each day.

I've had these shoes for 8 months. They are my every day shoe, so I've probably worn them for thousands of hours by now. I have wide feet and purchased the extra-wide width. I also under-pronate, and I find these shoes to be very comfortable and stable. I really like these shoes. I would definitely recommend them.

I like a lot of room in my shoes so they don't feel tight when I wear socks, so I tend to order a size bigger when it comes to sneakers. I like the width in the toe box these shoes have to offer. I usually order wide but decide to try extra wide this time. There is little difference. I would recommend these if you want room to move your toes!!These shoes also provide very good stability.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance because they also come in wide widths.

These shoes are great. I normally have an issue with not being able to find shoes wide enough for my feet. With working out, having your feet cramp is never good. From the first time using these shoes, I noticed I was not having that problem. I will be ordering more of these.

Love this shoe. I have narrow feet with bunions and over-pronate plus falling arches. I am usually a 9 but take a 9-1/2 B in Brooks because I use my own orthotic without removing the Brooks orthotic. Have been wearing Brooks for years this way. Great construction and great style. Always get compliments.

I've worn these shoes before. They fit well, are really comfortable and I love the wide toe box. The shoes arrived on time, were in perfect condition. I am very happy with how Zappos handles their sales.

I have not worn actual running shoes in a long time and now I realize why I should have! Just walking around in these was almost like walking on tiny trampolines, and my knees felt free of aches I had not noticed before. Usually when I buy shoes that feel like walking in clouds, that cloud feeling goes away after a few good long walks, but I have worn these on a few 5k runs and on all day walks through multiple cities and they still feel like bouncy pillows. They were too hot to wear walking more than an hour in 80º weather though. I am still getting used to the amount of bulk in the soles of the shoes but the support that bulk supplies is fantastic. The only, very minor, issue I have is that the footbed is very flat and rigid. This is no problem when I am moving, but when I sit for a long time it is a tad uncomfortable because I cannot curl my feet at all like I normally do when I am trying to get cozy. That was a slight issue at first wearing them on a long plane ride (I did not want to take my shoes off), but I got used to it and found other ways to get cozy. They are definitely shoes made for moving, not sitting. I like that the laces on these are somewhat elastic. I can slip these on and off without ever untying them.

I had to go up from 8.5 Wide to 8.5 Double Wide to get a fit in the Dyad 8 that compares to my Dyad 7's. (I even pulled out the insoles just to check, and the 8.5WW in the new Dyad 8 was a perfect match, down to the product code on the side, to the 8.5W in my Dyad 7's.) I haven't worn the new pair much yet, but this is my fourth or fifth pair of Dyads, and they've served me very well in the past for walking and gym workouts.

I work in an elementary school and I'm on my feet in the gym a lot. My feet are always hurting. I bought these shoes and they are amazing. They are super comfortable for my wide foot. Plenty of room in the toe box and the insert that comes with them are thick and very comfortable. I am getting ready to buy a second pair identical to the first so when I wear out the first pair I will have the next pair ready to go. Now at the end of the day my feet feel great!
