I've had trouble walking for exercise for years, hip pain, calf pain. I finally went into a running store and had a fitting. This was the first shoe I tried on, and the one I purchased. LOVE THEM! I have been walking several times since I started wearing these and NO PAIN in my hip or calf. It's been years of pain, and now I'm pain free. It amazing, they are so comfortable, great arch support. Love them!

I love these shoes. They felt right from the minute that I tried them on. They accommodate my orthotic inserts, but the insole that comes with the shoe is way better than the standard insole. My feet were really happy about these new shoes.

The toe box is narrower than I thought it would be. I'm used to the Ghost 8's. Thanks.

Heel part of the shoe is really wide and the heel rides lower on the heel causing it slip.

The shoe is comfortable and helps cushion my feet when exercising. I'm glad about these shoes.

My go to running shoe, I have wide feet and these fit the best. Very comfortable and do great on trail runs. I wish Brooks offered more of their stykes in wide or 2E. Great comfort, but not exactly stylish!

I had to exchange for a half size bigger, but once I did I was very happy. These shoes provide great arch support and cushion. They are very comfortable which is hard to find for very wide, large feet with high arches! So far I have worn them walking/running, rowing and now in cross fit. I may eventually find a thinner shoe for lifting/cross fitting but for now these are great.

These are sturdy, well-made shoes. I'm delighted they come in an extra-wide size, as my feet have spread with age. They have some arch support, but not as much as I would like. That said, I need a lot of support and others may find them just right. I buy them again and again and again.

Padding in shoe kept my toes from moving around. I did order a pair of Saucony shoes that I had put on the wait list. I am so happy I checked my e-mail. I had these before in a 1/2 size down and foot flattened down. I did stay with Zappos. Yea!

I have been wearing New Balance shoes for years. I wear a 6½ but always order a 7 to allow room for a sock. I had to send the size 7 back and get a 7½. Zappos made the exchange seamless.

I bought these at the recommendation of my orthopedic specialist to accommodate a bigger depth orthotic. While the shoe design was great the shoe was so stiff that I couldn't get the orthotic in and when the specialist did and I put the shoe on, it was too small in length. The shoe was a size 10; I wear a 9 1/2, and the specialist recommended not going to a 10 1/2. I tried the shoe without the orthotic and it was still too small. The shoe is very well made and I'm guessing that it would work quite well for some people.

I really wish I could have loved them. I threw out the box and my invoice before I had them more than a day. Otherwise I would have sent them back for a bigger size. I have always worn a 6 1/2. My last pair of Brooks (Glycerin) was the same size. But these were just a tad bit too small. I wore them to walk in about a month hoping they would work, but they felt too small in the toe box. Other than that, they had a perfect arch support and were really comfortable. I recommend a half size larger than you typically wear (which I should have known if I would have read some of these other reviews).

This is my second pair of Brooks. My first was glycerin. They were great. When they wore out I picked out the Dyad to replace them. I should have read the reviews better. They are a comfortable shoe overall but I do NOT have wide feet and the toe box in these feel like they are squishing my toes in. So I would recommend going up half a size or going with a different style. I ended up just using a shoe stretcher to stretch them out some because I liked the color of this style.

I've been running for two years and only in Dyads (v.7). I ordered the 10.5 wide and they fit like a glove just like the other Dyads I've worn. I'm not seeing the difference between the 7 and 8. I think ordering Wide helped (as I do have a wide foot).

Very nice color, slightly narrow fit, nice sneaker. I ordered a wide, sneaker is still a bit tight, guess it will give after a few wearings.

You may prefer to disallow my assessment of width as I have difficulty finding shoes that allow adequate width for the upper end of the fifth metatarsal (zone 3). Had to order 2E, so toe box is large, but acceptable for walking, but not hiking. This shoe lacks the overall cushioning that works best for me, but is acceptable. I especially like the appearance, color. That's a big plus for me.

The only shoe that fits my wide feet and has a linear platform to allow my arch inserts to sit correctly. The inserts stop me from overpronating. The purple and white color was nicer ! Could use more cushion. Looking forward to the Dyad 9

I have worn Brooks Dyads for years but the Dyad 8 runs smaller--the toe box is now very uncomfortable. Too bad Brooks ruined a great shoe.

I have owned two previous pairs of Dyads 7. Those are great shoes! The 8's aren't anything compared to the 7's. 0 arch support and also no where near as comfortable. As someone who runs and lifts on a daily basis theres no way I can keep these shoes.

My local store did not carry and would not order this replacement for the discontinued Dyad 7 in my size and width so I ordered it. This shoe does NOT have a fit anything like the Dyad 7. I need a wide shoe and the Dyad 7 in my size was perfect. This shoe was painful and I cannot wear it.

I've been buying Brooks Dyad for years and always loved them but not this one. Very disappointed. They are hard, uncomfortable and hurt my feet. Tried to give it time to break them in but it's not working. Money wasted.

I really like these shoes for the fit, comfort and performance. I ordered the extra wide, so the width was not an issue. My only complaint is that the tread on both shoes started peeling off about three weeks into using them. It is nothing super glue cannot fix, but for this price, this should never happen.

I am going to give you as much detail as I can about this shoe. Last year I went to a Certified Pedorthist to purchase shoes because I have been doing a tremendous amount of walking to lose weight and I have short extra wide feet. My foot is 4" wide and about 8.5" long. I have a very high arch and have to wear a 3/4 length arch support with my shoes. The Certified Pedorthist took all my measurements and recommend this shoe in a size 8 Extra Wide. I loved that 1st off there was plenty of room inside the shoe for my insole to placed in without having to remove the gel insole that comes with the shoe. I wish the shoe was lighter but it is not horrible. I really love the thickness from the bottom of the sole and the insole that is used. It really does absorb the impact when walking or jogging. Things I did not like were about a week after having the shoes the fabric around the top ripped. I also told the Certified Pedorthist that I have an issue where my big top always rips a hole in the top of my shoe. He said that he fixed my insole to add a presser point so my toe would point down when I walk but it did not help because both shoes the toe put a hole in the top in less than 6 months. After walking for several months the shoes seemed to be too big so I ordered this pair a half size smaller. I regret this decision now. I wish I would have stayed with the 8. Now I would warn that without the Certified Pedorthist doing the measurement I would have normally ordered a 7 WW for myself and I am not happy with the 7.5 WW so I would say this runs small. I will warn that this shoe is not intended for just anyone and you should check at the Brooks.com website to find out what shoe they offer that is right for how your foot and ankle roll and how high your arch is or if you have flat feet because this shoe will not work for someone that is flat footed. Overall I do like this shoe and I wish it was a little less expensive since I have to keep purchasing new ones because the fabric parts of the shoes are not built well enough to take a lot of abuse. Other than that they are great for waling and standing in and my feet don't hurt and I can walk up to 10 miles in a day without hurting feet and huge bunions that is a great thing!

I am so bummed that I had to return this shoe. They made my feet feel amazing, except in the toe box. I ordered my normal size of 10W and they were way too narrow in the toe. Which is a shame because they I would have loved them otherwise.

These will have to do, I guess. I haven't found anything better, though these aren't fantastic. The main issue I have with them is that the rubber started separating from the sole within a few weeks of every-day wear, and I'm not even running in them, just wearing them to the office and for errands, etc. I've been told shoes should be replaced after 500 hours or 500 miles of wear. I got nowhere near that in the first few weeks, but they were starting to come apart anyway. I wouldn't really say they feel a half-size smaller than marked, but I would say they're a quarter-size smaller than marked, that just wasn't an option in the rating system. My podiatrist likes these for me because they're not for pronators (which I am, pretty badly, but I have orthotics, so I can't get shoes with correction built in), and they have a solid platform that doesn't cut away at the arch, so they have a pretty good amount of "torsional rigidity" (meaning they don't flex at the arch much), which is very important if your shoes need to support orthotics. So, Pros: Decently rigid arches/arch support. Sole doesn't cut in under the arch. Neutral, solid base for orthotic wearers. Comes in a wide width. Deep enough that my heel doesn't slip in them once my orthotics are in place. Nicely cushioned, but still supportive. Cons: I probably wouldn't have needed a wide width if the shoe wasn't cut a bit short in the toe. Crummy durability -- shoes this expensive should not be starting to fall apart so soon. Absolutely no color choices
