After looking high and low for a stability shoe that would last more than 3 months, I finally found the BEAST... 4 years ago. best shoe I ever ran in, bar none - and I always keep a couple of pairs in stock, dreading the day they will go out of production... recommended for heavy runners needing a durable stability shoe.

These are a great shoe with super support. I'm a 6'4" 250 pound runner and I have never had problems with these shoes and this is my second pair. I've had pain and arch issues with others. My first pair, which were my regular size of 13 had a huge toe box and felt a little sloppy with too much room. This time I ended up with a 12.5 wide (my first pair of wide shoes) that felt fantastic.

Brooks Beast is without equal, especially for those with knee or hip issues. I've owned more than 20 pairs. But this '14 version is definitely sized differently. Street shoe size of 14M - with a narrow foot and regular arch - and needed to order a 15M in this shoe.

My teenage son is a big athlete and wears nothing but these shoes - and cleats when he has to. Actually, really wish Brooks made cleats, too!

Great shoe; get a new Beast every year. This shoe has a large toe box that fits what a foot is; also, this model has innovated securing straps (one on both sides) to keep the tongue in place. Since I wear a custom orthotic I need to get the wider 2E to accommodate it. Brooks Beast are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn; only wish they (Brooks) would make these shoes in plain Black or Brown - the Addiction isn't this shoe - don't forget this shoe is not cheap; but, remember "don't skip on your bed or your shoes, since you will be in one or the other every minute of every day of your life."

Excellent fit. Arch supports adequate but not spectacular. Replaced arch supports with aftermarket. Much better fit and comfort.

My son has plantar fasciitis and the doctor recommended these sneakers. They made a big difference for him - he is on his feet for work all day and these have helped a lot.

I am 6'5" born with a club foot and these shoes saved my life, they are amazing. These really are the shoes for the tall man. I have had very bad feet problems and knee problems all my life and these literally saved my life. If you are tall and have knee and feet problems these are for you.

This is the second pair of Beasts I've bought in less than a year and I don't feel the first pair failed prematurely, they just had a ton of miles on them. I have a pretty bad left foot (arthritis, etc.) from an injury long ago and have to use orthodics normally. When my foot is particularly troublesome, or I know I'm going to be walking more than usual, I wear a custom-made leather brace. The Beasts accommodate either with ease. Additionally, I tend to over-pronate anyway, and these shoes greatly reduce that. So in short, I can't say enough good things about these. I might just have to stockpile them in case Brooks decides to discontinue them in the future.

These shoes have saved my feet. Just bought my second pair. Look great and last a long time. Worth every penny!

They are the best shoes I have ever bought. Comfort and support are fantastic. They feel like they are a natural part of my body. I also think they have a bad-ass look.

I think this is the third pair I have purchased for my husband. He pronates and has a very slender foot with no arch. He loves "Brooks Beast!" He loves the feel, the comfort, the look! He is very hard on shoes, but this one lasts the best of any I have found.

I just transitioned from the Beast 2012. The Beast 2014 is a better shoe. Much better fit. I am 6'7" and 275 pounds. I went through two pairs of Beasts last year with close to 600 walking/running miles. Great shoe for big people.

Thought width would be somewhat wide because shoe is designed for heavier runners. Width and toebox are too narrow. Quality appears good.

Great show so far. Very supportive and comfortable. I am a size 13 4E so shoes are harder to find for me and Zappos had these in stock. They seem like some of the best quality shoe I've had and they look great. Probably sounds funny but I really like the laces. Not cheap like some shoe manufacturers. Also the tongue stays in place like it should which is good. One thing, I don't run in them which is probably what they were built for so I can't give a review as far as that goes. But I have Foot issues so I wanted the best and I think I did well here. And I overpronate and these help with that. Overall, very happy birthday with these shoes.

I got these shoes for my husband. He is on his feet a lot, so it was important to get shoes that gave support and comfort. I also had to find a pair in EEE. I was happy to see Asics offers wide shoes.

I love The Beast. I have been wearing them for over 15 years. I am a big boy at over 340 pounds and they carry my bulk great. I also wear orthopedic inserts and have no pain when I jog or walk. I love my Brooks Beasts.

Have been using brooks since I can remember. They are great for my knees for running since I had two surgeries on one of my knees. Very comfortable for casual use and for the gym.

I walk 4-5 miles per day and these shoes lasted 5 months. I was very satisfied with them and I used to be a motion control stability new balance shoes buyer. New Balance keeps dropping their great shoes; hence my purchase of these Brooks shoes. The best insole I have ever seen in any shoes, too. I recommend greatly!

I found out I have flat feet after I had an injury to my plantar tendons. A podiatrist made me a pair of orthotics and said to get this shoe due to my pronation. This shoe has saved my life. I went from suffering to walk, to jogging 5k's in this shoe with the orthotics. I pick up a new pair of these Beasts every 4 months.

I have flat feet and am slightly bowlegged,so I tend to pronate pretty significantly. I am 6-0 and weigh 225 pounds. I set a goal to complete a 5K before my 6th birthday, but previous shoes just didn't provide the support I needed and my body would frequently hurt and occasionally I would injure myself. I initially balled at thebprice,but then thought "Well,you get what you pay for!" I cannot tell you how pleased that I am with these shoes. The support is amazing and the shoes are SO comfortable and light weight! I would certainly purchase them again and recommend them without reservation. Oh and I completed my first ever 5K 6 days before my 60th birthday! I wasn't fast, but I wasn't last!

I am 6'3, 255lbs. I lift, do cross fit, core exercise, etc. I have done Ironman, marathons etc. These shoes are wonderful. They are not cheap but once you wear them, you will know why. I need to wear them all the time for support. One thing that is most important to our bodies is great shoes. Buy them, you wont be upset.

This is the best shoe I have ever owned. If you exercise and weigh more than 200 lbs., this is the shoe for you. No, they are not the cheapest but they are worth the extra money.

Actually I have the Brooks 12, but it's no longer available here. I am a fairly large guy (6' 4", 200 lbs, size 13) and just got into running a couple months ago. I also have flat feet. I had trouble with foot and ankle pain and injury with other shoes once I started running over about 4 miles at a time. Changing to these shoes (again, Beast 12, to be clear) really helped me out. I've been able to run much more, and my feet and ankles have not been injured since. I ran a half marathon today, my first running race, and it was great. I attribute a lot of that to these shoes, and of course much training. I hear that ankle pain / injury is a big problem for larger runners, and these shoes really saved the day for me. I did not use any inserts / insoles with them. They are heavier than most modern shoes, and I noticed the difference at first, but I think it's worth it. These are definitely like "driving the minivan on the freeway," though. My shoe (I got a 13) is slightly smaller than typical size 13 shoes, so I think when I do get a pair of Beast 14s this winter I'll try a 13.5 or 14 first. They aren't very attractive, I mean they look fine I guess, but I didn't get them for looks!

I've had several pair of Brooks Beasts in the past and this is my favorite. Great arch and heel support and the comfort is outstanding so far. Great job, Brooks!
