I don't typically write or offer reviews or testimonials. However, I am taking the time here to share my view of Zappos and their incredible customer service and efficiency. Just before Christmas (2015) I placed an order with Zappos for a new pair of Brooks Beast running shoes (my sixth pair actually). I've always worn Men's size 10 in medium width. Apparently Brooks had changed suppliers or changed their configuration of the shoe ever so slightly to the smaller side. Thus, when I received my shoes from Zappos and tried them on, they were a half-size too small and way too tight laterally. I contacted Zappos and they made the return of the first delivery and the subsequent exchange absolutely seamless and without hassle. In fact, I received my exchange in two-days time even before my return had made it back to them. I am so impressed with their efficiency and hassle-free return/exchange policy that I will buy all my sports and outdoors footwear from them in the future.

Great shoes but even better customer service! I didn't like shoes I originally ordered. Zappos made the exchange super easy!

This shoe is comfortable, stable, supportive (with my orthotic inserts), and reasonably attractive. I am difficult to please and difficult to fit. I'm so glad I found these. They seem well made, though I've only had them a few days. I have purchased these a couple of times before- so I thought they would be good. I use them for walking, gym workouts, and plan to use them for hiking, though I don't think the soles will protect me from rocks as well as the Patagonia Drifters (low hiking shoes) which are no longer made.

My husband has flat feet and he states that these shoes are the most comfortable he has ever worn, because they provide him incredible arch and ankle support. As long as Brooks keep selling this model, we will continue to purchase them!

I'm on my 4th pair of these shoes and I love them. I wear them daily for everyday activities and they last me about 6 months. I'm a bigger guy with flat feet and these have great support.

I am a female who has arthritic feet and I wear orthotics. I always wore the Woman's Brooks Ariel up until this year. They made them differently, too narrow and the last is different...basically they are not the same shoe as the previous version. I bought the Beast out of sheer desperation figuring maybe it would work, and it did! I wear a size 10 Extra wide in the woman's ariel and seems that Brooks is making their shoes narrower so I ordered a 9 4E. It works well. It fits well with my orthotics and unless Brooks fixes the Woman's sizing in the Ariel I will stick with the men's Beast. I hope this review helps any female who has foot problems!

Excellent shoe. Just make sure you buy 1/2 size larger and wider, I normally wear 10 d but they were too tight. I went to 10 1/2 ee fit great.

Very little that I can say,this is the second pair I am purchasing. Brooks are not good looking nor cheap but they are the most comfortable with the best arch support. Size is short. Normally I take a 9 or 9.5 but in Brooks its a 10. I purchased on line through Zappos and their service is outstanding.

Fantastic support for runners or walkers who carry extra weight or height. Available in wider widths too. Order size up from normal walking shoe.

I was wearing New Balance and decided to try Brooks, after three different models and sizes I'm very happy with the Brooks '14 Beast, found that Brooks shoes seem to run narrow so the last model I tried was a size 10-4E and they seem perfect, I was wearing size 10-EE in the New Balance and I liked them for a short time but the foot beds seemed to compress after a few miles (I walk about 10 miles per day) so I need a more cushioned foot bed which the Brooks '14 beast has, I ordered a second pair so I can rotate them every other day. I must say that Zappos makes is very easy to try different shoes, they are the BEST!

The Brooks Beast feels like no other athletic style shoe. These have plenty of cushioning in the heel area which makes walking/running a pleasure. They are definitely worth the extra money.

I am very flat footed and the Brooks Beast are very comfortable. I think the padding and the shoes last are a perfect fit for my foot and my feet are extremely happy on any 10 mile runs. If your feet swell during long runs, I would recommend going up a full size.

My son has flat feet with severe over pronation. This is the only shoe he has worn that he hasn't managed to wear out. They are truly a beast.

Other reviewers are absolutely right--Brooks Beasts are now much narrower. I'm 6'2'' 185 lbs. with normal width feet, but normal width for these shoes was painfully tight. Fortunately, the excellent customer service rep at Zappos sent a new EE width pair, even before I returned the first pair, and they fit fine. Btw, there is no E width. They go from normal to EE. I have worn numerous pairs of Brooks Beast over the last 10 - 12 years. The Beast 14 have lived up to the name, they are very comfortable and give my feet the support they need when I'm working out.

Nice construction, true fit, stable, roomy toes, minimal heal slip, soft ride. I wear men's USA 9 wide shoes and overpronate. These Beasts are awesome and help in every way. Too bad I ordered a 8½E - these were to small so I am sending them back.

The Brooks Beast 14 is a great shoe! I agree that you should at least try a half size larger and one width wider than you normally wear. I wear a size 8D and for me an 8 1/2 EE was perfect. I owned the previous Beast model I bought in 2012. Very comfortable shoe with great arch support! If you have flat feet, you will love this shoe!

I bought these on my doctor's recommendation for foot pain. There is a big difference and they have helped a lot. They do seem a bit narrower than most shoes and I would recommend a wider width if you buy other shoes at normal width.

The shoes are wonderful. My husband had to put his orthotic support in but they are as good as expected. But better than that the customer service of Zappos is the best!

I am a big dude who has had various feet and leg injuries related to sports. I reluctantly bought the first pair at the high price because I desperately needed support while being able to remain active, and have been disappointed by other shoes such as Nike, New Balance and even Asics. After three weeks in these shoes I immediately ordered a second pair and happily paid the high price. Sometimes the adage is true, you get what you pay for. Here I believe that rings true. The shoes are a little heavy but very comfortable, they provide great support and the black with red and white trim looks nice, too.

These shoes are awesome. The Beast is the only shoe available in a size range that fits my feet (14) but I wish they had a 5E. The 4E I have is a little tight but I know the next available width (6E) would be much too wide. Sure wish they had a 5E. Other than that it's a great looking shoe, I bought 2 pairs-blue/silver and anthracite/red, and the quality is superb. Zappos? What can I say that hasn't already been said? Zappos is fabulous to do business with. I don't know how they do it but they do and congratulations to them. To us. their loyal customers, spread the wort "buy from ZAPPOS!

Zappos always delivers the best shopping experience. Simple, user friendly, and helpful. I have purchased Brooks Beast shoes for a number of years. In comparison to other brands, this is the only shoe thatI meets my needs. They are true to fit and to their characteristics. It is a great, dependable shoe.

Wow. First time buying Brooks. As a middle aged guy with some extra pounds I needed a shoe with extra support. The Beast is just that. Very very comfortable and massive supportive for over pronators. Well made and true to fit for my size 9. Will probably get a second pair.
