I am an avid Brooks fan who has worn different versions of the Beast for close to 10 years. Unfortunately, Brooks made the '14 model noticeably smaller in size; it is way too tight (in part because the shoe's tongue is secured too well and does not move) with or without orthotics.

The arch support was great. I have flat feet and needing something with good support to help with Plantar Fasciitis in both feet. The problem that I had is that these shoes wore out on the top where my baby toe is on both sides in six months. There is a hole in the material in both sides. I wear them for walking and on the elliptical machine for 30 min day 4 days a week. Would not buy them again. There not great looking shoes to begin with but the arch support was rates so high that I bought them anyway. It does have great support.

These shoes fit well and are very comfortable. They are a beast of a shoe, though, with substantial bulk and weight to them. I prefer lighter running shoes.

Only real issues I have with this shoe is that it is too heavy and the style. The shoe was durable and well made.

The Width of this shoe is great, lots of room in the toe area. Still doesn't have much support for a heavier person. Bring/Buy your insoles!

The Beast is a great shoe and I am on my fifth pair. I still use pair number three and number four for mowing the lawn and walking the dogs. The great shoe it is has undergone many changes over the years. The shoe is a bit narrower than the older ones I find the material is not as sturdy. Quality is slightly down and prices are moderately rising. I love my Brooks but do not wish to see a decline in a fine product.

I have owned a number of pairs of shoes of this specific model over the years. All have been great, save for the last pair. The sole started to delaminate from the shoe after a few months. I only use them about 10 hours per week at the gym. No running; just weight training, so the stress was fairly minimal.

This shoe is very stiff and your foot sits fairly high off the ground. Almost could be called a therapeutic shoe for those who need lots of support. Comfortable fit.

I have owned 5 pairs of Brooks Beasts and will likely by pair number 6. The quality of material of these shoes have continued to go down as the price continues to rise. The material is thinner, has less stitching and the odor is suspect. With the buying power that Zappos commands from their vendors, it would behoove them to ask for better manufacturing quality. The difference between pair #1 ( I still have them) and the pair I just bought is astounding. Come on Zappos, fight for us.

The quality of this shoe has diminished. I have been a loyal Zappos customer since 2000 and am pleased with their service. I have owned 4 pairs of Brooks' Beasts and the 2008 pair I still keep for mowing the lawn and such. There is a night and day difference between the 2008 quality and the 2015. The materials of construction are inferior and the there is a distinct odor from the rubber. It should be noted their sizing is inconsistent. While the shoe is very comfortable, it's hardly worth the price or even half the price for that matter. We love Zappos but they should demand better quality from their suppliers.

Great shoe, lasted for a year of serious punishment, but. they are ugly, no style. If you want these to be your regular shoe for going around, they are unimpressive. I would suggest solid colors and black soles because black soles never look dirty.

No happy at at all with these shoes. I have worn Brooks Beast in the past for several years. This new design is tighter on my foot and some of the seams are already coming loose in less than a month. Whom do I contact about these problems?

I have ordered these shoes every year and love them. This year they are much more narrow than they have been in the past. I usually order an 4-E width and they were very tight. I exchanged it for an new style.

Very comfortable and improved style over the last version of the beast. Only issue is the shoe is now made in Vietnam, instead of China. Now it is made much more narrow than past Beasts and had to move to wide shoe for proper fit.

I have to say that I am very concerned with the modifications made to the 2014 version of the Beast. I have always been impressed with the Beast, and have been a loyal customer since 2004. The new design looks and feels cheaper. The upper support and control provided by previous versions feels less secure, and my feet feel as though they are sliding around more than in previous versions. I am starting to feel knee pain that I also did not have with previous versions. I am disappointed that we are now paying more and the shoe upper appears and feels cheaper.

the bottom sole of the shoe is coming off on the outside of both shoes. I have only had the shoes for a few months. disappointed in quality.

Sizing was good, comfort was good, this was the closest I've found a sneaker for fit/performance to the NB 1012, but my toes popped through both sneakers within the first month of wearing. I purchased in Nov. but didn't start wearing until February. Had some friends complain of the same toe issue with Brooks, so unfortunately, won't purchase again at that price, will try for another. My orthotics fit ok, and they felt stable and had plenty of cushion for the heel striker that I am. I am flat footed and need a lot of stability.

Quality has diminished. Fit was too narrow for a xwide shoe. Bought Saucony Redeemer to compare. Saucony fit perfect right out of the box.

I read the reviews that said they ran narrow, so I got the EE for my husband. Not only were these still very narrow, but they were just smaller in general. So thank you Zappos for having an awesome return policy.

I am very disappointed with this shoe. Within a month the soles detached from both shoes. It also feels a little bulky. I will not be buying this very expensive shoe again.

I love wearing these shoes, but they simply do not hold up. I bought my last pair at the end of July, now it is the beginning of October, and they need replaced already. I wear them as my work shoes, and they are very comfortable. However, I will have to find another shoe because I can't afford to replace them every three months.

I'm a very frustrated but very loyal Brooks customer. I probably order four pairs a year through Zappos. It's so easy. I know my size I know what I like easy. Up until now. Brooks has changed their last or something and the shoes don't fit me at all any more. I'm a consistent 10 1/2 4E. Thus I'm a tailor made customer for Brooks. I tried my size and sure enough, as others have said, the shoes were just too narrow. So I tried a half size bigger as suggested in some reviews and that just made the fit worse. I did order the Addiction Walker and although it also seems to be narrower now and thus is no longer the perfect shoe it was at least it's bearable. So I returned the Beast and kept the Walker but I just don't know if I can continue to buy from Brooks. New Balance seemed to go through some serious quality issues some years ago and that caused me to try and convert to Brooks. Maybe it's time to go back.

I tried 2 pairs of the Brooks Beast 14, 1st pair had right shoe inside heel with a sharp feeling which worsened over a few days. Hoping it was just the shoe I go a replacement pair. This pair gave me heel blisters right away. The fit was perfect. I have worn the same size for many years and have had many pair of The Beast. So sorry Brooks has changed this once good shoe in the heel area. Be advised.

Runs Waaaaaaaaaaaay small in width.

There is no way these shoes are a size 13(2E)...much more like a 11.5(E).... It's terrible these shoes have gone down in quality... Made in Vietnam....sure wish Robin Williams would go back over there and set things straight and show them how to measure correctly. Really it's Brook's management who have let their customers down... Will not buy these again... This is a shoe Zappos sent as a free replacement to me due to the others I had just about 2.5 months and started breaking down....this is now my 3rd pair and WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER.
