I received the down, Metro Parka in the dapple grey as a gift. I had picked the color and style out myself. After reading reviews about sizing, I ordered a size up. I've always wanted a coat like this. When I opened the package, I was so satisfied with the color. It's a beautiful grey...not quite silver....more of a purple tone. The fit was perfect. I knew it would be warm, but it exceeded my expectations. I love this coat and expect many years of enjoyment.

I really liked this coat -- until I tried the 'Gotham' parka. I think this just fit too long on me and too tight in the hips for my comfort - although it did look nice (I'm 5'7" and size XL). Overall I think this is a great choice if you would like a longer coat, but I want to be able to sit down easily on public transit and not have any issues walking around or dealing with a too-bulky coat in buildings. I really liked the quality of this coat, however - it had a nice flap over both the zipper and the pockets, and I liked the more matte (versus shiny) look of the coat overall.

I just ordered this coat and wore it for the first time this morning when the temperature was 16 degrees (real feel 5!). Coat feels oddly lightweight (which is good).. seemed warm, not AS warm as I assumed a North Face coat would be. But I wasn't freezing nor was my body really cold. As for everyone saying this runs small, I don't agree. I almost ordered a Small, but went with my gut and got the XS. Thankfully I did because the XS is still a little big on me (I'm 5'4" and 125 lbs).

After a lot of research, I decided on this parka and LOVE it. This parka is very warm and very comfy. I am 5'10/135lbs and purchased a small, perfect fit!

Last year after having heavy and long winter (live in Ch-go )I got myself Metropolis parka. I wasn't really excited about shape but I was tired of looking like a chicken after wearing my old jacket so my friend recommended me a Metropolis. Unfortunately after having it for one season my dash board in car is covered in feathers and after spending so much $ you don't really want to deal with that. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with it. Usually you don't buy jacket just for one season and you expect more from name like North Face.
I saw Miss Metro Parka on one of my friends and I instantly loved it. It gave her a great shape and look so much nicer than Metropolis so I started my research and I finally got myself Miss Metro! Material is so much better quality that I couldn't believe it since the price difference isn't a lot (only $31) compare to Metropolis. The feel and details on jacket are just great. I love the color greystone blue :) it's just gorgeous!!! And MOST important the feathers are NOT coming out!!! I can't say a lot about shape since I'm 8 months pregnant but I hope that I won't look like sack of potatoes like in Metropolis.

I've been searching for a warm coat for ages and have returned 2 purchases in the last year. I was so excited over the possibilities of this North Face coat as I have heard from everyone how warm they are. I wore my new coat once. I live in Rhode Island and leave the house before the sun comes up to wait outside on a windy train platform. It was 25 degrees and breezy...not a big deal in New England. I could feel the wind through the arms (I think there are 3 feathers in each sleeve) and my back was cold. There is no hem opening (kick pleat) to enable one to walk without opening the front zipper which then transforms itself into wings that flap to the side. I do not have heavy arms but a light weight sweater is all that could fit under this coat. This price? I don't think so! Back it goes. I give up...down coats are not what they used to be. Made to look cute but not for serious needs.

I love this coat for its lines and for the baffling. It is much more attractive than the Metropolis in my opinion. NF doesn't seem to have incorporated chevron baffling into their long coats and I do think that is the most flattering of all so this is the best option from them for now. However, because it is cut to be more fitted it doesn't leave a whole lot of room for layering underneath. I wore it out with temps in the 20s and had two long sleeved t-shirts layered underneath and found that I was still cold and I actually like the cold. This definitely requires a merino wool base layer at minimum. Since I didn't want to be resigned to only wearing fitted and thinner layers underneath I sized up. I am normally a very comfortable medium in NF (and sometimes a small). However, I bought the medium and the large in this to compare and am sticking with the large. The medium fits but doesn't leave much room for layering. Because it is more of a fitted cut, sizing up doesn't look too silly. The downside is that the overall length is more than I would like. I do not think it is as worm as it could be considering the price but I do like that it doesn't bleed down. I like the matte black as others tend to have a bit of a sheen to them. Others had complained about arms being tight but I do not see them as being small or tight in the slightest.

I recently ordered this jacket for myself. I always take a size medium, but in this coat I need a size large. The arms are fine with a light top on, but if you put on a sweater or heavier layer, the arms will be much too tight. Overall, the coat looks sharp with just the right amount of puffiness. The length is about 2' above my knees (I'm 5'7").

First of all I always research and check reviews and this coat was rated extremely high. I am a first grade teacher and have to take my class outside for recess so I need a warm coat and this one certainly does the job! Because it goes down to my knees it keeps my whole body warm but yet light weight , flexible and not bulky. I'm in love with this coat !

The size medium is too snug - which is odd because a size small sweater from LL Bean fits perfectly. The Baroque Purple is comparable to an eggplant color.

love this jacket. It is cold here in Wisconsin but I feel nice and warm in this wonderful jacket. It is almost like I'm wearing a blanket. It is very stylish and I love the nice shapely fit. It is not boxy like other parkas.

I absolutely love this coat. It is super warm and has a flattering fit. I purchased the coat in the baroque purple. However, due to the matte finish, the dye has rubbed off onto any light color clothing I wear. I have several shirts and even a pair of gloves that have turned purple. I exchanged it for another coat, hoping that it was a problem with that ink lot, but it happened again. I hated to return this coat but I am not okay with my clothes turning purple. I purchased the North Face Metropolis Down Parka instead and am happy.

I am 4'11 and it comes down to my knees. I do have to turn the sleeves up but the lining is the same color as the parka so it works. It is Very light and very warm. The reverse zip at the bottom allows me to sit comfortably in the car and it still covers my thighs. Because it is so light, it is comfortable t wear while driving. The hood is not oversized so it works well and doesn't block my vision. I am very happy with thus purchase. The only drawback is the price.

I had this coat in the brown for the last seven years and have to finally replace it. I tried this coat again, thinking that it may have been updated and be more flattering or feminine now - unfortunately, it is still a pretty boyish cut. It is a super comfortable, warm coat but I am looking for something different these days.

This is a premium priced puffer coat but it also has premium features. It has a full inside liner which helps to keep out the wind in cold NH winters. This coat also has the inside zippered phone pocket. I liked my urban navy Miss Metro so well that I bought another in the dapple gray. This color has a touch of blueish purple to it - very pretty and unique. In addition to the quality construction, the coat keeps me toasty warm. I find that I notice my hands and face being cold but never my body.

Love this coat! I ordered the Miss Metro and the Gotham. The Miss Metro has a more feminine fit and is a little warmer. I returned the Gotham as the bottom belled out too much. Miss Metro is cut a little slimmer throughout. It does not bell out at the bottom. I am 5'4" and 158 lbs and fit in this coat comfortably in size Large. It hits at my knees which is great to help keep my butt and legs warm in the cold New England winter. Ordered the baroque purple since that was the only color available in my size. I love it. Very classy color. It's a deep purple almost a maroon color. Something different in the sea of black North Face coats that everyone wears.

So soft, warm. It's the best coat I've ever own. Size was tricky, I am more in the middle of a Small and a Med

Got this as a gift for my mother and she loves it. It fits perfectly, not too snug as other models, has a quality build, and above all keeps her warm.
