Bought this medium sized coat for a 5ft 4in, 120lb teen, with a figure skaters physique. A small would have made it a fitted style. I didn't want it fitted. It had to have enough room for a sweat shirt to go under it, because she actually has to stay warm, after she takes the coat off in certain places. I wanted enough room so that she could lift her arms comfortably on the subway. So it's bigger than fitted, but not swimming. We also get plenty of snow, especially outside of Manhattan (long blocks), so I needed it lightweight and long enough to cover the behind. Will look serious with high boots & scarf. Logo is black on black you should know, for all of you brand conscious people. Craftsmanship is on target. Her previous TNC coat lasted 3 years before she outgrew it. No holes in pockets, which is unheard of for kids.

First time buyer of this cost and I love it! It's light weight and warm. Plus I don't look like I'm drowning in it.

I love how warm this coat is but it'd also comfortable , it's not heavy and bulky.

I've been looking for a North Face jacket for 3 years. Every time I went to buy one they were already sold out. I first purchased the Gotham parka but returned it for this one because I wanted a coat that was stylish, figure flattering, and WARM. I'm 5'2 and weigh about 112 lbs. I was choosing between this and other North Face jackets but was told this was one of the warmest (hence the price). I'll need it here in Rochester, NY!

I returned this coat because I was concerned that the down was especially thin in the arms of the coat. Did not feel confident this would be warm enough for a Chicago winter. I ordered it in charcoal and it washed out my fair skin tone. I did however like the stitching and overal style.

I bought this as a gift for someone that had been "checking out" North Face outerwear for over a year! It is not only attractive but the workmanship of this coat is guaranteed for as long as she owns it.

I'm totally pleased with the coat I bought. It's by far my favorite winter coat of all. Wearing thick clothes is not always the best, but this jacket feels way better than any regular puffy, winter coat. It's extremely warm, smooth, and light weighed.

I bought this coat for this coming winter and my first year of college. I wanted something long to keep me warm during Michigans freezing winters and I have no doubt this coat won't do that! It is so comfortable and I can't wait to use it this winter!! I am 5"7 and 140 pounds and I got a medium and it fits perfect.

Wanted to buy my daughter a warm coat as a gift as she is on her way to graduate school in a cold climate. She is very fashion conscience and this one is nicely shaped, not too tight or loose, not too bulky but super warm.

I totally love this coat. I live in Ontario Canada and winter is harsh especially this past one. It is warm but it doesn't feel bulky and heavy. I understand the comments that it is kind of run on the small side but I think it is designed to perfectly fit your body. It is a perfect fit for me for Medium size. I am 5'3" and 128 pounds. The reason I say that it is not small because I can still raise my hands up and it doesn't feel snug. When the jacket is small, you will not be able to raise your hands. I can also fit the thermoball jacket inside when the weather is extremely cold, although yes it will feel very snug. The only negative is I would like to have the fur line on the hood. I think it will look so much nicer. As I just bought this, I am not sure about the durability. I initially purchased the light grey one but then exchange it for the black as I think the light grey will get dirty really fast and I don't want to risk washing it too many times.

I bought this jacket online, without fitting it, because it was really cold and the zipper on my previous winter coat broke. I am normally S but took XS in this jacket and it's perfect. It has been about 20?F and slightly below recently and all I wear is tshirt and a thin wool sweater under this and I stay perfectly warm, I feel so cosy it's almost like I never left my bed! :) Also, I love the fitted shape, very flattering. Love love love this jacket!

I got this coat to replace a 10 year old Metropolis. I was nervous about the sizing after reading the reviews and got a size larger than my Metropolis. I'm glad I did! I found the coat tight across the back and needed the extra space for layers. Despite having the same length measurements, the Miss Metro feels shorter and tends to ride up. Overall, I like it better. I got the burnt olive and the color is much prettier in person!

I tried several of these coats and this was the most slimming. It has all the features you would want as well as the warmth without the bulk.

I resisted buying a NF coat because I knew that they run small and are pricey. However, my old down coat from another maker failed, after only 1 year, and I was lucky to find one black coat in this style at a NF store. I was pleasantly surprised that the shoulders and arms were reasonably sized; still, I cannot fit a jacket under this coat, only a light to medium weight sweater. Having said that, it is very warm, and it us sized more generously than the other NF I tried.

I bought this coat as a replacement for an older Metropolis model, which was wearing out. The issue is not so much the fit, which is acceptable, but there is a problem with the lining. It seems to be releasing a weird form of dust, which is making family members sick, and the lining fabric has a sticky feel to it. It seems to get worse when it is washed, even in dilute 7th Generation detergent. I had to buy a less-expensive long parka with a conventional lining. Note that our other North-Face jackets do not seem to have this problem, only this model. It has been banished to the garage. If anyone has a fix for this, please E-mail me.

I bought this parka in late November and just LOVE it! I've received many compliments; I have the Moonlight Ivory color (I didn't want black - and this was a great choice because it is so, so versatile#. It does a great job of keeping me warm. I think the longer length works well with office attire #I don't like having longer shirts or sweaters peeping out below my coat - looks sloppy# - and it's great for driving #especially with the 2-way zipper that lets you unzip from the bottom). Removable hood is a nice feature. I LOVE the feel of the material - very soft. So happy I bought this coat!

Usually I take a L and had to return for an XL. Gave 4 stars because sleeve has no cuff to stop wind.

I have looked and looked for a long, warm coat. The NF Transit was too thin and not long enough and the NF Metropolis was not flattering on me at all. So, I decided to try the Miss Metro b/c of its great reviews. I bought this coat in Burnt Olive as I wanted something different than black. It is a beautiful color. The small was too tight, so I returned it for the medium. (I am 5'4, 125 lbs.) The medium fits perfectly, and it is really warm and perfect for Northern NY winters. I am very happy with my purchase!

This coat HAS the three "F's" i.e., "The fashion and fit are fantastic". The warmth and light weight are wonderful. The length is the best when walking in the zero weather. Without a doubt the best coat that I have owned in a very long time! Thanks

This coat was very disappointing. The fit is flattering and feminine and the length is nice, but the coat is thin and not warm at all. If the fill power of the down were higher, the thinness would not really be a problem. However, a thin, light coat with 550 fill power down translates to very little warmth. Also, this coat is lacking on features that increase comfort, such as a fleece-lined neck and cuffs. The dapple grey color and the satin lining are very pretty, but for the price I expected a warmer coat. You are definitely paying for the North Face name rather than a quality parka.

As soon as I received the coat, I went for an hour long walk in falling snow and wind chills below 0. Verdict: the coat kept me warm - I was even perspiring a tiny bit from navigating snow drifts. The coat is well worth the price.
