As other reviewers recommend I purchased a 1/2 size larger and they work very well with thick socks and very comfortable.

ALL of the other reviews are spot on.......these boots are SUPER, right out of the box. One difference though, from about half of the other reviews.....the size. I think half or more of the others, said you need to go up a 1/2 size for a good fit with a thick sock. That wasn't the case with me. My regular size was fine with a thermal sock and I even still have a bit of room. I haven't worn them in the snow and cold yet, but will very soon. However, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fit and style. They feel wonderful on my feet.

The warmest snow boots I've ever worn. Easy to get on and off, very supportive, the first time I ever wore them was for an entire day and there were no issues with them hurting my feet/no need to break them in.

I have only worn these two days..initially they felt like they fit perfectly but maybe too small. After wearing a little I broken them in and they feel like they are more roomy now and fit perfect so my toes can stretch a bit. Also they are super cute, and very comfortable. Great shoe for a great price and they keep you warm too!

Super comfortable, easy to put on. I usually wear a 9.5 and the 10 fit great over thick wool skiing socks. Would recommend!

These boots are very comfortable. The sole has a nice grip which is much needed when in the snow/ice. They are slightly wide in the toe box but it allows for thicker socks to be worn with them comfortably. If you don’t plan on wearing socks, then size down half a size.

I am a Florida girl who doesn't need or own waterproof winter wear, but I need shoes for an upcoming trip to Chicago in January. Nice looking shoe, but unfortunately the toe box hit my large toe knuckle right where my arthrisis bump is located. The size is probably correct for normal feet. Returning it back to zappos....

Since these boots only come in Medium or wider and I wear a Narrow, I did not order up a 1/2 size as was suggested by some reviewers. I hoped the M would allow my narrow foot extra room in the toe box. It does and I am now the happy owner of warm winter boots. Living in snowy, northern NY, this is a good thing! :-)

I bought these boots a year ago for a Dec trip to China. With an inserted arch support they were very comfortable. It was cold but there was little snow and the boots worked well. However I used them this Dec for the second time in 2-3 inches of snow in Switzerland and my feet were completely wet. It first felt the water came in through the heel and then the snow covered the toe which apparently is not water. proof. My feet were wet and cold!

The red color which was my first choice was unfortunately out of stock so I ordered the black as well as the Columbia Mid Minx III in red. I got both in my size —- 5.5. Surprisingly, the Mid Minx was tight and small while the Ice Maiden fit perfectly even though they were the same size. So it was no contest. I picked the Ice Maiden. I like that it feels good and comfortable right from the start. Have yet to test it in snow but based on the many positive reviews, I have a feeling it will be great!

Total disappointment here. I have another pair of cold/wet weather boots by Columbia which are the exact same size and fit perfectly, with thick socks. These are so cute, but just do not fit. They are going back.

Love these boots! I would have gotten them in my usual size of 8.5 but they were only available in 9, so they're a little loose. However, when I wear thicker socks, they fit perfectly. I wish they had more arch support but I'll probably buy some insoles to help with that. Overall, love the look and feel! The faux fur lining is incredibly soft.

Overall very pleased with these boots. They're not really red - more of a crimson. I ordered my regular size and they fit very well - room for an extra-thick pair of socks if needed. My one minor annoyance with these boots is that my old (20+ years) Columbias had a kind of pull-tab in the back to help get the boot on and these do not have anything to grip to assist in that way. But like I said, minor. Wore them yesterday on ice and snow and they seemed to do fine - feet warm and dry.

Boots are amazon! Went hiking in Minnesota in 6 inches of snow and my feet were dry when done. Would definitely recommend!

I have tested these shoes in rain, sun, and snow, and I must say, they are fantastic. I bought these shoes in hopes that they’d keep my feet warm in the winter because my toes always go numb in regular shoes. These shoes work like magic! They keep my feet warm in 20 degree weather while traipsing through snow yet they don’t overheat my foot when wearing them in more moderate 50 degree temperatures. They are great to wear all day, and don’t feel clunky like many winter boots. They have decent traction though I still slid a little on ice. In addition, they are very stylish and comfortable. I liked them so much I got a pair for my mom. She has a difficult time finding comfortable shoes and she loves them. She sized up a half size to accommodate her wide foot while I stayed true to size. For the price, you can’t do better than these boots!

I'm really pleased with these boots. I wear an 8 in open toe shoes but a 9 in boots so that my orthaheel/vionic arch support inserts. I still have room for a sock (not super thick). I need more room in the tie box for bunions. Hopefully, this information will help others who struggle with those issues.

It's a year later and I still use these as my everyday boot. So comfortable, definitely water proof (I'm a dog walker). My favorite thing about them? I can slip them on, with or without socks, and just lace the top or tie it and I'm out the door! I'm here to buy another pair ~ only because mine are so overarm, they sort of smell LOL!

I ordered one size larger and then the boot was comfortable with my wool socks. They kept my feet warm while outside for over 2 hours in a stretch.
