I purchased this cardigan in 2021, and absolutely loved everything about it. Have been considering buying another ever since, and when the Alpine Rose color was released I jumped at the chance! The color is beautiful, it is extremely warm and quality material, however the fit is really odd as if each component is a mixture of sizes! The large fit well across the shoulders, arms and collar, but the rest of the cardigan was shaped like a pear! It isn't just a straight fit, it actually bells out from the armpits down to the pockets where it seems to tailor in again down to the hem. It was so bizarre! I then tried the medium thinking I had the sizing wrong, but it was tight across the shoulders, zero space in the arms, the collar was rather tight, and the 'waist' was still WAY TOO WIDE across my body. I have a rather normal athletic shape but it's difficult to imagine what shape or activity this was built for. I want to love it, but until the fitting is corrected I'll wait.

I made a mistake this jacket is boxy not fitted and said small petite so I assumed small xtra small but when I looked at the order choices it says: s, xs, xxs. I wore it and just ordered the other fleece more form fitting in correct xs size.

I love the fit of the covert in the torso. The boxy cut and the length sit really well around my hips. I am disappointed in how the sleeves fit. The sleeves are WAY TOO TIGHT. I can barely get my arms through. Keep in mind, I'm very slender. If the sleeves a bit wider or it didn't taper in at the wrists that'll be perfect!

Well I already have several fleeces like the one I bought, but the size is much larger than the one I had before
So I am not that happy, it s like I am wearing my husband's fleece

Warm, but the fleece lining makes it difficult to get on and off even over a cotton turtleneck, and the bulk means it does not lie that well. I also dislike the silly hard nylon sections by the pockets and can't imagine what I'd use the tiny sleeve pocket for. Overall disappointed. The large fits OK- I an 5'7" with 40 inch bust and hips.

I am 6'1" and 190. The large fit me great but the zippers fell off in the washer after maybe 20-30 wears.

I just bought this and was impressed by the style. The only trouble is that it causes my undershirt to bunch up when I put it on. It's a huge pet peve of mine. Sadly, this beautiful jacket is being returned. Shame, it's a beauty.

I've had this fleece about 3/4 months. The cut & feel are excellent but I have to agree with other reviews that the pilling of the material is unacceptable for a top end item. Solve this & it would be a five star review.

I bought this jacket back in September, worn indoors during lockdown. It fits well, very comfortable and warm. Now the bad bit. It pills. A lot. I've not been wearing it with a pack (or even outdoors!), and it has pulled badly in some areas. For the price, this shouldn't happen. I agree with other reviewers that this should be withdrawn from sales until the material issue is sorted. Very disappointed.

Loved Arcyteryx because of the longer sleeves. Owned a Covert Hoody before buying this Covert Cardigan and now there is an inch difference in sleeve length between the two. Has Arcteryx changed their sizing to make their sleeves shorter? This is a size L.

I bought this fleece a few months ago and did not read the reviews before I got it. I washed it inside out and everything seemed to be fine. It is nice enough for a Friday casual at the office, and warm enough for a hike during the fall and being around the campground. The true test came just last week that I had to carry a backpack for a few hours. Sure enough this thing pilled as mentioned in other reviews. It is very noticeable in areas where the backpack or straps were rubbing. The functionality of it has not changed, but now it looks like a cheap fleece you would get anywhere else. That is too bad because this is not the quality you would expect from the brand, I might have to trade it in for some credit at the store next November.

Love the fit and look but it started pilling within the first week that I got it. I had to invest in a de-pilling device which helps but the cardigan now requires regular maintenance for it to look nice. Not practical for regular wear, I would spend your money on something else.

I loved the last covert sweater I had but this one is disappointing. After wearing a few times there are loads of pilling under both arms. It makes the sweater look old and worn. I really like the sweater but the pilling is less than desirable.

I have a Covert full zip which was from a prior season (2018) as well as one that was recently purchased. I am not able to always get Arcteryx gear and fit in person as many stores do not readily stock what I'm looking for. This was a purchase made online based on measurements and my size.
What is unusual about this cardigan is the tight fit of the sleeves and the tight underarm. If I wear the sweater with anything but a thin T shirt, the elbows are far too tight, and the underarms wick moisture occasionally. I'm 6'0", 190 lbs with a 34" arm, and the sleeves cover my knuckles. The body fits okay across the chest, so I would hate to go up a size and have even longer sleeves! Not sure who these sweaters are designed for.
On the positive side, the garment is extremely well made. I don't seem to experience the pilling described in posts here, though I'm also not machine washing the sweater.
Earlier Covert sweaters were wool blend (yes, very high quality), the new versions are woven synthetic facing with liner.
I do see the collar has been redesigned for 2020 to a more cuff-style instead of the older structured panel design. Personally, the new cut looks ordinary and doesn't present as a high end garment. I could compare with other brands, but was advised not to do so. Let's just say it's a disappointment, given the usually high standards from Arcteryx.
I appreciate the high quality of the garments, but a bit of attention to the fit and collar for 'normal' people might be something to consider.

I love how this sweater keeps me warm, but the amount of pilling on the fabric after each wash is horrendous. I would get it in another colour if it wasn't for the pilling.

I discovered the covert cardigan & hoodies two years ago and I now have over 15. Last year, many requested new colors to be brought in lighter colors (loved the yellow & light Titanite from past season!) and I know some requested a light pink & olive green so perhaps the Arbour Heather & Sedna Heather for this season was supposed to satisfy those like me that wanted these colors? If so, it failed for me because they are not the lighter shades that I tend to collect. I wanted more of a lighter heather pink & a light yellow olive green., so please bring more lighter colors (not neon!) such as white, light baby blue, pink & light olive!

I have mixed feelings about the Covert (I have the 2018 version). The fabric is very nice and construction is what you expect from Arcteryx; that is, fantastic.
But then, it has some design decisions that I don't understand.
First, sleeves. I understand that climbers need particularly long sleeves, but urban commuters (which I believe are the target users for this piece of garment) don't. The Covert has very long sleeves. To have them stand straight I need to pull them over my hands. And you don't want to fold them because the inside finish is much different than that of the outside. They are also very narrow; if you wear a sweatshirt underneath you'll need to grab the sweatshirt sleeve very tight and pull intensely to put the Covert on. If not, the sweatshirt sleeve will end up on your elbow. Such long sleeves might be good for bikers.
The arm pocket is not particularly useful. I would very much prefer a well designed interior pocket for the phone.
Another thing I cannot understand is why it does not have a hanging strap.
With regards cut, I'm very thin and have no belly. I am 5 feet 9 and weight 150 pounds. Size S is perfect around the shoulders but has too much room around the belly. To make things worse, the Covert has an elastic waistband but the cut is not long so the waistband will end above your butt giving a bulky look around the belly. If you have one, great. If you are thin, not so good. I only look good with the Covert on if I continually pull the waist down or if I have my hands in the side pockets, which by the way are big and well lined and constructed.
Long story short: quality materials and finish and perfect cut and design if you have a belly and long and thin arms.

The fit is good, its warm and looks great. But the current Covert Cardigan is below the high quality expectations I have for based on numerous other Arc'teryx products I own. Made in China. So thin it's see-through. I am concerned it may wear through too soon. Not even a hangar loop guys? Really? That seems cheap, especially for Arc'teryx's price.

Has jacket less than a year but pulling is starting to build up on the front jacket pocket area. For the price was expecting the material to hold up better.

It's a nice jacket and I use it quite a bit, but I don't find it as well designed as other Arcteryx clothes I have. The front of the reasonably stiff collar rubs the underside of my chin, and the cuffs and hem bottom are a noticeable presence. None of my other Arcteryx clothes have hem problems like that (Zeta, Nodin, Gamma, Atom, Delta). From anyone other than Arcteryx, I'd say its a good piece but it could be improved.

Not bad. Nice style. Looks well built. Nice arm length for someone with long arms. Slightly shorter than I would like. at 6'1 a large barely covers my belt. Not as thick as it looks in pictures, and not very warm.
No coat hanger loop??? This seems minor but is incredibly annoying. Do they expect me to put this thing on a hanger every time I walk in the door? Maddening.

I like the cut and fit of this jacket but if you're looking for a fleece that is closed off to wind then look elsewhere.
I don't know if it's the intended property of the fabric weave but it lets even a gently breeze through. In some circumstances this could be beneficial so just be aware of this if you want it as a feature of your fleece.
It makes it difficult to recommend honestly as if you wanted to really make use of it in slightly wet and windy conditions you definitely would need a waterproof shell and not rely on it to keep out even the smallest breeze or dampness.
