I bought this cardigan a few years back and LOVED it, so much so that I bought another one in exactly the same size. Sadly, the revised fit doesn't work at all for me -- too boxy through the body and the arms are way too tight. I unfortunately gave it away to a friend.

Fit is awful now. I have 4 older versions of this Cardigan which all fit like a glove. This newer design is too wide and short on the body while being way too tight on the arms. Won't be buying any more.

I have an older model I am very happy with, so I wanted to get a second cardigan. Unfortunately the new fit does not work for me at all - the sleeves are too tight in my usual size while the boxy cut is too wide in the waist and the hips. Overall the fit was so uncomfortable I decided to try the men's version instead or look elsewhere altogether.

This was not the best cut for athletic builds, purchased wrong size as they are completely sold out everywhere

The only way to make this sweater wearable is to spend 20 minutes to an hour de-pilling it. Don't waste your money. Arcteryx typically as a rule puts forth amazing quality however the covert cardigan sweater is the exception to that rule.

Bought this in Nov 2019 and would have returned it in early 2020 due to the constant pilling, except for Covid and the resultant lockdown. Functionally is nice and warm. However, the pilling is really bad and it looks tatty. Can't really wear it on video calls now with clients as the pilling shows! What high tech problems we have in Covid times.

Was shocked. Thought I was seeing things. The fabric felt great, then first day noticed pilling on the underside of forearms from resting on a bar. The jacket is now so pilled I only wear it under a shell as warmth.

Love the fit and look but pilling is a big issue and at that price seems not normal at al

I have the same pilling issues as others. Paid a lot of money and take great care of it. My last one lasted 10+ years without pilling. This one started pilling almost immediately. Crazy, and very dissappointed. I have a lot of Arcteryx stuff but this will make me rethink the brand.

Fit and feel are great, but this product should be recalled as the material started pilling within a few wears (inside only during lockdown and before i washed it) and has only gotten worse. Looks super shabby now. I've been told by Arc'teryx that this is to be expected if i wear it as an outer layer (!) which seems ridiculous.
Like many other recent reviews, my suspicion is cost cutting has lead to an inferior material. Buyer beware!

Fabric started pilling after one week of wearing. My Patagonia fleece hasn't pulled nearly as much. Customer service tries to claim the pilling is normal and to be expected. Not worth the price. This item should be recalled.

Wore for just a few weeks and experienced piling in the fabric. Haven't washed it, worn it in a car, or worn a bag over it, so no reason for this to be happening (I have a 10 year old MEC fleece in better condition). Sent it in for warranty service and they just cleaned it up a bit and sent it back over a month later; the piling will be right back after another wear or two. Very disappointing given the premium price.

I loved this cardigan when I got it, it looked so great. But as soon as I got it in the house it showed to be completely unwearable. I have a short haired pointer dog and its hair gets stuck in the fleece and it is absolutely impossible to get it all out. The only thing that works is to pull each hair out individually, which with the amount that gets stuck in there is unviable. It also holds on to other loose dirt badly.
I have never had this problem with any other piece of clothing I own, including fleeces from other brands. Otherwise this cardigan is really great, so if you can keep it clean it's probably worth it. I suppose my jacket is probably faulty so others may no have the same issue. I really can't wear it out on the town it looks so bad. Maybe you could buy a lighter colour which hides dirt.

I so wanted to LOVE this jacket. After everything I read and from the look of it in the photos, I was so looking forward! I should have taken to heart the comments of those who said they had experienced pilling. I am someone who takes impeccable care of things. Having only washed this on delicate cold water cycle and hung to dry, I was terribly disappointed when it began pilling (all up and down inside of the arms as well as the sides, torso). It began only after a few wearings. And I have not had the jacket for even three months.

I was excited to see new colors for the"new" Covert Cardigan - I already own 5 or 6 of them in differing colors. Ordered two new sweaters from Back Country and received them yesterday. I was shocked to see the fabric seemed different than what I have grown accustomed to. In addition the cut of the sweaters is different - they did not fit and were too snug for me and I had to return them. Not sure what happened, but looks like Arcteryx made some changes, and I guess as a result I will too!! Too bad!!!! I'm a big guy and all of my sweaters are XXL - My current sweaters fit fine - these two new jackets - well, not so much. I was totally disappointed!!! Even had the jackets fit - the feel of the fabric is different and the weight is lighter - too bad Arcteryx - I own a lot of Arcteryx items, Beta AR jacket & pants, Theta jacket, and as I said 5 or six Cardigans - You lost a valued customer!!
