Was a little hesitant to buy this jacket after hearing poor reviews of the new fabric material, but was pleasantly surprised when the jacket arrived. I don't know what the material used to be like but I am quite happy with what Arcteryx has done. The material is soft and warm inside while looking quite classy outside. I purchased the Kyanos and it looks great. I go back and forth between M and L for arcteryx products but the M was perfect for me at 188cm and about 78kg. Really nice cut. Its definitely more of a casual use jacket, but could certainly be used for hiking and the backcountry.

No complaints so far! I've read that this new covert is not as hardy as previous models, we'll see i guess. I think if it is worn as intended, it will hold up for years. I've only had it for a few weeks, but through lots of wear I can certainly report that it is warm and cozy. I wear it as a mid layer, so it's not really exposed to the elements or abrasions.

I bought my first fleece when I visited Vancouver some years ago. Since then, I have bought a further two as I love the styling and attention to detail. It is cosy and warm and the quality, finsh, colour choice etc, are excellent and I have no complaints at all. The delivery time was also very speedy.
Great product.

This is the 2nd Covert jacket that I have purchased. I acquired my first raspberry colored Covert hoody a few years ago at my local athletic store and decided to get the Covert Cardigan when I saw it online at an athletic retailer. I am difficult to fit because I have the build of a gymnast. I am 5'2" 100 pounds, with an athletic build. I received my beautiful blue jacket today and it is absolutely beautiful!!!
Please keep making these great products and I'll buy more!!!

This covert cardigan is very warm, serving as a perfect mid layer on cold days, and an outer layer on cool days. It is great for hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities. This cardigan is constructed with impeccable craftsmanship, and is also stylish. The laminated pocket zippers are rugged and should provide for long term wear. A wide range of movement is provided by the relaxed fit. I now have three of these cardigans and would not give them up. I highly recommend this garment for anyone who is serious about outdoor activities, wants to keep warm and is willing to pay the price for quality workmanship.

I have a black one and a red color one and I cannot say enough.I am a textile industry professional and I know what these things cost from the factory...still I bought one at retail and was happy enough to buy another. This company is serious and what they make deserves your attention. They could cut many corners but I can assure you they do not.
keep it up Arcteryx...you have my vote

I originally bought this jacket as a mid layer when I first switched to a shell outer jacket. However, the discrete bird logo on the arm means that it functions just as well as a casual urban jacket.
I think that the Polartec Thermal Pro Knit material is the softest out of all my jackets, which adds to its feeling of warmth.
The jacket comes up quite large, when compared to my other medium and small jackets, so a definite try before you buy, if you can.
I have the black jacket, mainly due to the very limited number of colours imported into the United Kingdom.

Bring back the Alpine Rose and Velocity Heather colourways. Those colours were so pretty and versatile. Alpine Rose and Velocity Heather look so good in the heathered polyester fleece of the Covert series, it's just not the same in the other fabrics. The texture and colour just work out so perfectly! Please bring them back in the Covert Cardigan, the Covert Pullover Hoody, or the Covert 1/2 Zip Neck. I hope you really do bring these colours back!

I love the fleece but do not like the fit at all. I am a fan of Arc'teryx but women's fit is still so far from what it should be on many products and especially this one. It is warm, great fleece material, etc. But the arms are super tight and the body so boxy. It would be much too big if I went with a bigger size though. I believe a trimmer body and loser arms, as well as a little stretch would make it a nicer product. As a mid-layer, it being less boxy would be nicer to layer as well, and longer too.

I wasn't originally going to purchase this jacket as I wasn't that keen on the overall look of the cardi (it felt a little more suitable for my mum). However, after hearing so much love for it from my colleagues I went ahead and got the forage colourway in size Small. I'm sold! this is such a lovely cardi to wear, its incredibly soft on the inside and so cozy. I'll be wearing it around the house when I'm working or relaxing, perhaps for air travel too.
I've washed it and its retained size and shape well (washed on a medium heat, reg wash. no tumble). I usually wear a size small (I'm between a UK 8-10)
Reason for the 4 rather than a solid 5, the smell when it arrived was incredibly strong. I took it out the package and it was headache inducing, however after a wash its completely gone.

Soft to the skin and keeps me warm
Sizing is good for petite like me
Length of the sleeve is perfect for my short arms (Taller people might find it short)
Shoulder pocket is really functional for my compass card
Arm opening is tight which makes it harder for me to do layering with it; It's good when I only wear thin layer inside.
A bit looking bulky at the front face; it quite creates like a big space of balloon in front.
Hoping to see this in wool or at least a blend of wool :)

After 24 hours in spouse's hands, she likes the Cardigan. She noted that the sleeve openings for her hands seem small. I note that the sleeves are not lined so removing her long sleeved arm is a chore. However she wants to keep it.

I wish this sweater had a little more flexibility/stretch and that you brought back the "Solitude Heather " - the Atmos just isn't as nice a shade. The Solitude Heather colour looks really clean and classy.

Got this as a gift a few months ago and have worn it almost every day since. The dark blue version looks smart enough to be worn to the office over a shirt. Sleeves and back are cut slightly longer, which adds to the comfort factor. Warm enough to skip a shell jacket when being active on a mild winter day.
Unfortunately the fabric started to show pilling where it's more exposed e.g. seams, armpits, outside of sleeves etc.. This requires manual removal which will contribute to faster wearing down of the material over time.
One missing detail that would make this perfect is a two-way zipper. Other brands like Fjallraven offer this across the range and I love it when actively moving e.g. when hiking in the mountains.

It's a very warm and stylish piece. Great for wearing casually. But I would probably not wear it in any outdoor activity due to its heavier weight. For reference, I'm 6 ft and 175 lbs. I got a large which is a bit baggier but is great for wearing casually

I have purchased 3 covert cardigans in the past 10 years- this newest cardigan is not as soft as previous versions but what I really miss are the mesh interior pockets. My passport and boarding passes fit perfectly in them for travel. I have had my latest covert cardigan for 1 year and the zipper broke this morning. So the recent version is not nearly as well made as my covert cardigans from 10 years and 8 years ago.
I still wear those 2 cardigans regularly.
All 3 cardigans wash very well and our very warm.

I love everything about this jacket except it's really cumbersome to put on when with any number of baselayer materials! It's the nature of the fleece but it causes you to have to hold the cuff of your shirt sleeve and fight to pull the jacket on. That's the only thing stopping it being 5 star!

Bought this about 2 months ago as a lightweight option in and out of the office and on my adventures as a soft layer. In that role, it's good. My only issue so far is the pulling that has occurred around the zipper. I'm not wearing it under any layers very often, but it started fairly quickly. So be aware you might need to take action once a season.

The covert is cozy, and I pretty much wear it all day at home. I really appreciate the inner mesh front that allows for venting/temperature control, especially with the hand pockets open. For my body type, it fits a little loose. This is considered a "regular" fit under Arcteryx, and I'd definitely say it's not form-fitting. The cuffs aren't as tight as I'd like and often cover parts of my hands, unlike my other Arcteryx jackets in the same size. If you're planning to layer under this and you have small/slim build, then it will likely be fine.
I'm 5'4"; 122 lbs; got a size small. Probably should've gotten an XS, but that wasn't in stock at the time.

looks good and great when there is no wind, but when it gets windy the wind seems to be blowing thru every hole within the fabric, especially the arms, this would be perfect if another layer of wind proof material is added..
