slightly bigger than expected, i haven't tried to take it on an airplane just yet, but i don't think it will fit under the typical seat in front of you. but it does hold a weekend worth of clothes with ease.

No planned obsolescence found in this bag, it will definitely last a long time. Its great to see a company making such quality products. Great for line trucking as it fits 5-7 days of clothes for me. Wingman is very sturdy and holds its shape and has a functional minimalist design. Im very happy with this bag. The wingman belongs in a 007 movie with its stealthy and sharp look. Lastly the bag has sternum straps!, I don't think its mentioned in the description or pictures.

I get happy every time I have the opportunity to use this bag. I like to see things simple but also appreciate durability, comfort, and practical design. I took this bag as my only luggage for a 2 month trip to India. It was everything I needed. The simple, open design allows you to organize items however you'd like. The sinch straps are the best and help to compress whatever you've packed inside into a more compact space. You'll be amazed how much you can fit into this bag. The bag is absolutely rugged and built to last. It's heavy duty without being bulky. Handles on all sides make it easy to pull out of overhead compartments or out from under a seat. The storable shoulder straps turn it into a backpack, freeing your arms and hands. There are additional compartments for shoes or toiletries, and larger thin spaces for a laptop, books, papers, etc... I love this bag. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I travel a ton and I wished I had this for all my trips! This is an amazing bag, although I have yet to take this for a business trip I actually might end up doing so! I took an international trip, I didn't want to drag a bag through customs or wait for checked luggage and this was perfect. It was enough to actually pack much more than I did. I am adult woman and I packed 5 skirts, 3 dresses, 10 tshirts, 2 tanks, several bikinis, undergarments and everything else for a little over 2 weeks. I actually was also able to fit a straightener and a mini travel hairdryer. I was also able to add an extra pair of shoes. I was worried about not being able to bring anything back when I ordered this bag, but rest assured I was able to bring things back as well! This could be different for some since I am a size 2 woman and mostly travel light, but just it would still be a great bag if you do weekend trips etc. Regardless, great buy for me. Super convenient I will probably tear this to shreds traveling with it all the time! :)

I purchased the Wingman Carry-On Travel Bag for my son. He was very pleased with it, he had been eyeing it for some time and was real excited to get it! He likes all the pockets and storage, he will get good use out of it for many things.

I absolutely love the design. I was looking for a suitcase, in carry on size, that could be worn as a backpack for easy mobility, and this bag is exactly that. The shape is boxy so I think it looks a little strange on my back but the extra room in the corners is very useful when packing. Unfortunately the sternum strap on my bag was damaged in delivery, but timbuk2 was very quick to fix the problem and send out a replacement strap to get me on my way. I used it for a quick weekend getaway and it was perfect and I will be using it for a 10 day trip to Belize in February and I know it will be perfect for that as well!

First, the only real shortcomings of this bag (in my opinion) are: (a) a lack of padding in the spaces for the Tablet and Laptop...there is some padding, but you'll want a little more via a sleeve of some sort; and (b) no water bottle sleeve - though I think that adding one might mess with the look/style in which case I'm glad they didn't. Now, all the things I LOVE about this bag: - Super durable! One of my goals is to reduce my carbon footprint by minimizing possessions; this bag was purchased to serve many functions and last a very long time - I have no doubt it'll last forever or until I choose to replace it (which I'm not anticipating happening). I went with the Rip-Stop Nylon, which I was told by reps. at Timbuk2 is their most durable material (all their materials are super durable though and come with a lifetime warranty). - Stylish! This thing looks cool without looking like it's trying to be trendy or hip (I got the Carbon Fire version and it looks great). This is also professional looking enough to take into a business meeting without feeling like you're being improper or too casual (Full disclosure - most of the cities I do business in are places like Seattle, San Francisco, and other cities that are relatively casual...I would be fine walking into an NYC meeting with this though). - PERFECT size! I hate checking a bag...I hate having to gate-check a bag when I'm on smaller jets...I hate checking out of a hotel and leaving my bag with the front desk while I go exploring for my last day before jumping on a flight...I like having all of my stuff with me at all times, and this bag affords me that. It's small enough to fit in the tiny overhead bins on regional jets (and probably under the seat if necessary), but big enough to hold A-LOT! It's built in compression straps go a long way in helping with that. I'm currently on a vacation in the Bahamas for 9 days, using this bag (and no other), and here's what I was able to pack into this (for reference, I'm a 6 foot tall, 185lb man - my clothes size is mediums): - 1 pair of relatively packable tennis shoes - 1 pair of brown dress shoes - 2 pairs of jeans - 1 packable winter jacket with hoodie (worn on the flight but packed at the connection airport) - 1 packable zip-up long sleeve windbreaker - 1 pair of basketball shorts - 1 pair of board-shorts - 2 button up long sleeve dress shirts - 3 t-shirts - 4 pairs of socks - 1 pair of flip flops - 7 pairs of boxer briefs - Toiletry bag with a pair of clippers inside, and the essentials for a male - 1 iPad-air w/keyboard attached - 2 chargers - Passport and Document Holder - 1 Notebook - 1 pair of earbuds - One smallish power-bank - 1 large steel water bottle All of the above and I was able to fit the bag under the seat in front of me on a Boeing 777. I'm thinking of making this my everyday bag as well as my travel bag...it might be a little bigger than I'd like for a daily commute backpack, but it's not so big that I'd feel silly commuting with it - I'm going to have to see what it looks like when it isn't fully packed. - Versatility! This can be worn as a backpack (how I wear it), a shoulder strapped duffel bag, or carried by its handle as an oversize messengeresque bag/duffel. I love that the backpack straps are durable, and so easy to hide if I want to put them away and carry the bag by it's handle for a more formal look (though I've yet felt the need to). An all around great carry-on bag, and something that could probably serve as a daily commuter for most (especially if you pack lunch, jacket, umbrella, etc. and use public transit). Would've loved this when I used to commute in and out of downtown Seattle.

I travel with artwork in my portfolio and this is a perfect fit. Plus, there is plenty of extra room and compartments for my laptop, phone, sealed pocket for waterbottle, and handy pouch for travel documents and tickets. Makes traveling so easy!

I fly standby a lot so it's really important to me to be able to fit everything into a carry on so I don't have to worry about checked bags getting lost. This bag fits even more inside than it looks like it can! Also when I ordered the bag I didn't notice it had a separate pouch that is perfect for putting shoes inside so they don't get your clothes dirty. I've packed enough clothes for a week in this bag plus 2 pairs of shoes and my toiletries bag! very impressed. I also work remotely so it is important that I can fit my laptop in a pocket that is easy to access. my 15" macbook + charger fits perfectly in the front pocket. On top of that I also travel with my dog a lot. I have two different carriers one that is over the shoulder and one that is a backpack. I really appreciate that this bag can be either so that I can adjust accordingly depending on what dog carrier I'm using. I also care a lot about design and I am in love with the color of this bag. I got the carbon/fire which looks both unique while also looking grown up and modern. I also love that even though it's soft (which makes it easier to fit into overhead bins no matter how full it is) that it doesn't look bulky. nice one timbuk2!!!

I've had this bag for a little over a year and use it as my main bag for all travel. This includes week long work trips, personal weekend trips, and one 3-week Euro vacation. This bag can do it all and knowing that I can carry it on everywhere I go is extremely valuable peace of mind. I generally do laundry when I travel for long trips, so packing enough clothes is never a problem when leaving for weeks at a time. The key is being able to pack at least ~1 weeks worth of clothes, have space to separate dirty laundry, one extra pair of shoes, and easy access to necessities like phones or books. This bag has it all for me. Not to mention the versatility of being able to use it like a backpack, sling it with a should strap, or just grab a strap like a duffel bag. My only complaint is how uncomfortable the backpack straps and shoulder strap can be when it's packed full. I can pack a decent amount of weight in that bag and not having it distribute weight well is only minor pain.

Converts from a bag to a pack so you can move quickly through the airport around the dorks with their rolling bags. It has taken a total beating on 12 trips this year without any sign of damage. Clothes for 5 days, laptop and accessories, iPad all safely packed away in this bag which slides into the overhead bin. Best money I have ever spent on a bag.

Great bag for weekend away, used recently on trip to Australia and was only bag I carried. Even fit the size and weight restrictions on air New Zealand, 7kg weight limit. Was looking for a bag I could take on business trip and not check a bag, this was perfect.

I've used this bag mostly for weekend trips and found it fits very well in the overhead bins. It has a bit more room than other similar bags, and it seems to look pretty decent over the shoulder. I particularly like the absence of excess straps on the exterior and the separate shoe compartment. It seems to have just enough pockets and space for everything I need.

This has been by far the best purchase for travel I have made. I travel a lot and loved it so much I had to get one for my son for his travels. Also loved it so much I had to get the co-pilot as well. Between those two, I never have to have a check on again. I could travel 3 weeks easy. Thank you timbuk2.

I use the bag for regularly travelling back to my home country by plane. It enables me to bring along my laptop, cloth and more. Furthermore, I use it too for going to conferences and short trips. The bag is so roomy, that, when filled entirely, it get a little heavy :)

I wanted something that I could take on weekend trips, as well as week or two trips, and this bag does what I want. Well thought out compartments, great straps inside, too zipper layout. The ability to use as a shoulder bag, or grab convenient handles, or convert to a backpack! Exactly what I wanted...

I've had this bag for about 5 years and have traveled extensively with it. My wife tried to steel it, so I had to buy her one this year. I love everything about this bag. It's a chameleon, I can carry it (quite comfortably) as a backpack, but I can also zip the straps away and carry it like a valise or clip the messenger strap on and carry it as as a messenger or a shoulder bag. There is a handle on every side, so it's always easy to grab, pull out of a trunk or overhead compartment and go. 2 weeks' worth of clothes and a spare pair of shoes, no problem. 1 suit even unpacks and is wearable if I don't overpack for that trip. I've walked all over Chicago and Manhattan with it as a backpack and carried it on a business trip. Piece of cake. Oh, and it has a laptop slot. Most important, it's never been forcably gate checked. I've been on flights where they've sworn their was no overhead space and they were prying everyone's roller bag from their hands on the way in, but I wore it right past them with a smile and can always find enough overhead space. I'm shopping for a similar laptop bag now and was shocked at the poor reviews, so I wanted to add my own. I have no explanation for the contrast in opinion, this bag is one of my all time favorite pieces of gear.

I bought this bag to use as my carry-on bag for international travel with the option of using it as a backpack if I needed my hands free. This bag is great, exactly as described on your website; however, it is more floppy than I anticipated. It can be stuff full, but due to it's size, things shift inside unless it is completely full, and when full it can be rather heavy if you're packing things other than clothing. It's not heavily padded, so one must be careful when setting the bag down if carrying a computer and other breakables inside. I used it on several transatlantic flights and was able to pack everything I wanted, but it was very heavy and impossible to carry with the shoulder strap due to my height. Unfortunately, it is too big to put under an airplane seat and I had to be careful not to place the bag down on the side with the computer sleeve in the overhead compartment. I would highly recommend this bag. It has great organizational features. If you're a shorter person I would opt for something smaller. Still a fan of Timbuk2.

One of the best thought out bags I've ever used. Just the right amount of pockets, practically placed and of useful sizes. Option to use as a back pack is a great benefit when covering distances. The material is durable and easy to clean.
